Objective To investigate the effects of VCAM-1 on migration and invasion of glioma cell lines . Methods The techniques of lentivirus pSGU6/GFP/Neo-based VCAM-1 shRNA and EF1 a-GFP/puro-based VCAM-1 expression vector, the scratch wound healing migration and transwell invasion assays , and the Western blot and cell staining were applied to observe the effects of VCAM-1 expression levels on migration and invasion of glioma cell line cells. There are four groups in T98G cells including control, vector, scramble and shRNA-VCAM-1 groups and three groups in U251 cells covering control, vector and VCAM-1 overexpressed groups ( n=6 per group) .Results The stabled glioma cell lines of T98 G cells with down-regulated VCAM-1 and U251 cells with VCAM-1 overexpression were established by using lentivirus-based VCAM-1 shRNA and expression vector. The ability of scratch wound healing (migration activity) decreased significantly (P<0.01) in T98G cells with lower VCAM-1 expression levels, while the migration activity was obviously improved in U251 cells with overexpressed VCAM-1 ( P <0.05 ) .Similarly, the invasion ability was significantly inhibited ( P <0.05) in T98G cells with silenced VCAM-1, as well as VCAM-1 overexpression could enhance the invasion ability of U251 cells ( P<0.01 ) .Conclusions VCAM-1 improves the migration activity and invasion ability of human glioma cell line cells.

Objective To investigate tentatively the role of angiotensionⅡ( AngⅡ) in perfluoroisobutylene ( PFIB)-in-duced acute lung injury ( ALI) in rats. Methods Twenty-eight male Wistar rats were randomly divided into one control group(0 h) and six PFIB-exposed groups which were executed at 1, 2, 4, 8, 16 and 24 h after PFIB exposure (n=4). The PFIB-exposed groups inhaled PFIB at a concentration of 145 mg/m3 for 8 min in a flow-past header while the control group was exposed to the filtered air in a similar manner .After execution at the corresponding time-point, the samples of the lung, serum and brochoalveolar lavage fluid (BALF) were harvested. The measurement of the lung wet-to-dry weight ratio ( W/D) and total protein content in BALF , and the histopathological examination of the lung were carried out to evalu -ate the degree of lung injury .The over-time changes in the content of AngⅡin the lung homogenates and blood plasma and the activity of angiotensin converting enzyme ( ACE) in the lung tissue were observed .Results The lung W/D and total protein content in BALF were increased significantly at 16 h after PFIB exposure with severe acute lung edema and abun-dant neutrophil exudation to the alveoli , which were alleviated dramatically at 24 h after PFIB exposure .The content of AngⅡin the lung homogenate showed a tendency of increase during the first 8 hours with significant decrease at 16 and 24 h after exposure. However, the content of AngⅡin the plasma and the activity of ACE in the lung experienced of fluctuations , but without significant difference compared to the control group .Conclusion There is no obvious correlation between the extent of lung injury and that of AngⅡin the lung. The pathological significance of AngⅡin PFIB-induced ALI needs to be further clarified.

The incidence of solitary fibroma of seminal vesicle is low, and the source of seminal vesicle is rare. A 38-year-old patient was admitted to hospital because of intermittent gross hematuria for more than one month. Seminal vesicle space occupying lesions can be seen in pelvic MRI. Laparoscopic resection of right seminal vesicle tumor was performed, and the pathological diagnosis tended to solitary fibroma. During the 5-month follow-up, the symptoms of hematuria disappeared and no recurrence.

Objective:To understand the awareness and influencing factors of core information on tuberculosis prevention and control in the elderly population in China. Methods:The study included all participants aged ≥60 from the "13 th Five-Year" National Tuberculosis Control Plan end-term assessment in 2020, with 13 706 valid questionnaires obtained. Multivariate logistic regression was used to analyze the influencing factors of the awareness rate of core information on tuberculosis prevention and control in the elderly. Results:The total awareness rate of core information on tuberculosis prevention and control in the elderly aged ≥60 was 78.4%, with the highest for "suspicious symptoms of pulmonary tuberculosis" (85.4%) and the lowest for "whether pulmonary tuberculosis can be cured" (65.3%). The complete awareness rate of core information on tuberculosis prevention and control in the elderly was 41.3%, and the proportion of those who received tuberculosis health education is 67.6%. Multivariate logistic regression analysis results showed that factors associated with low awareness of core information included females ( OR=0.93, 95% CI: 0.86-1.00), ages 70- ( OR=0.91, 95% CI: 0.84-0.98) and ≥80 ( OR=0.77, 95% CI: 0.68-0.87) and minority ethnicity ( OR=0.85, 95% CI: 0.74-0.99). Factors associated with high awareness of core information included educational levels of junior high school ( OR=1.46, 95% CI: 1.34-1.58), high school ( OR=1.62, 95% CI: 1.45-1.81), junior college ( OR=1.37, 95% CI: 1.11-1.68), and an undergraduate degree or higher ( OR=1.52, 95% CI: 1.09-2.11), and receiving tuberculosis health education ( OR=2.13, 95% CI: 1.97-2.27). Conclusions:In 2020, the awareness rate of core information on tuberculosis prevention and control in Chinese older adults aged ≥60 was lower than the national planning target. Therefore, there should be an increased focus on health education about tuberculosis for elderly females, those aged ≥70, ethnic minorities, and those with lower education levels.

Tripterygium wilfordii polyglycosides are one of the most commonly used Tripterygium wilfordii preparations, which have anti-inflammatory and immune-regulating effects. Their unique therapeutic effect on some autoimmune diseases and kidney diseases is almost irreplaceable by other similar drugs, but the possible reproductive damage is the bottleneck that hinders their clinical application. In clinical use, female patients often suffer from menstrual cycle disorders, decreased menstrual flow, even amenorrhea, infertility, and other symptoms, and the main toxic mechanism lies in damaging the reproductive and endocrine functions of the ovary and inhibiting the growth and development of follicles. Therefore, it is particularly necessary to understand the toxic and side effects of Tripterygium wilfordii polyglycosides on female reproduction and master the detoxification methods during clinical use. However, there is no clear solution to these problems. According to the theory of traditional Chinese medicine, "kidney governs reproduction", and the relationship between kidney Yin, kidney essence, and female ovum is close. Therefore, by considering that the damage to the reproductive system caused by Tripterygium wilfordii polyglycosides belongs to the category of kidney deficiency, Yin damage, and essence deficiency, the "strengthening kidney Yin" method is proposed. It points out that the reproductive toxicity damage of Tripterygium wilfordii polyglycosides on the female can be effectively alleviated by tonifying kidney and Yin essence in clinical use. The relevant research on traditional Chinese medicine, classical prescription, test prescription, and acupuncture is summarized to verify the necessity of the "strengthening kidney Yin" method, so as to provide a theoretical basis for the safe and rational clinical use of Tripterygium wilfordii.
