Objective To investigate the efficacy of acupuncture combined with doctor-nurse cooperation mode on stroke-associated pneumonia in patients with acute stroke. Methods 67 patients of acute stroke within 1 week in our hospital from March, 2013 to January, 2015 were randomly divided into control group (n=35) and treatment group (n=32). Both groups received neurological routine treatment and systematic rehabilitation training by professional physiotherapists under general nursing mode. The treatment group received acupuncture treatment under doctor-nurse cooperation mode additionally. Incidence of stroke-associated pneumonia, swallow function and aspiration rate were recorded. Results Compared with the control group, the incidence of stroke-associated pneumonia significantly decreased in the treat-ment group after treatment (χ2=4.615, P=0.032). The retention volume of epiglottic vallecula and pyriform sinus (tdilute barium=21.01, tthick barium=19.85), the duration of pharynx period (tdilute barium=17.03, tthick barium=13.68), and the start time of pharynx period (tdilute barium=19.63, tthick barium=17.86) were less in the treatment group than in the control group (P<0.05). In the test of dilute barium, the aspiration rate was lower in the treatment group than in the control group (χ2=4.03, P=0.044), however, there was no significant difference between 2 groups in the test of thick bari-um and solid food (P>0.05). Conclusion Acupuncture combined doctor-nurse cooperation mode may decrease the rates of aspiration and stroke-associated pneumonia in acute stroke patients through improving their swallow function.

Yttrium vanadate:europium nanoprobes (YVO4∶Eu NPs) with good fluorescence properties and water solubility were synthesized by solvent thermal method.Due to the overlapping of the excitation spectrum of YVO4∶Eu NPs and the absorption spectrum of tryptophan, fluorescent internal filter effect (IFE) occurred, in which YVO4∶Eu NPs were the fluorophore and tryptophan was the absorber, leading the fluorescence of YVO4∶Eu NPs was quenched. Therefore, a new method for the determination of tryptophan was established by using fluorescent YVO4∶Eu as nanoprobes based on IFE.Some experimental parameters, such as the adding amount of YVO4∶Eu NPs, pH value of the reacting solution, and reacting time, were investigated.Under the optimum reaction conditions, the linear range of the method was 4.0×10-6-4.0×104 mol/L and the detection limit was 1.0×10-6 mol/L (3σ).The content of tryptophan in the soy sauce was determined with the recovery of 95.2% and 97.3%.This method is simple, rapid, sensitive and accurate.

Background and purpose:For patients with advanced lung adenocarcinoma harboring an activating EGFR gene mutation, the current standard of care is EGFR-TKI alone. This study aimed to compare efficacy and safety of gefitinib plus chemotherapy with gefitinib or chemotherapy alone for treating advanced lung adenocarcinoma with an activatingEGFR gene mutation. Methods:This study included 61 patients with lung adenocarcinoma harboring an acti-vatingEGFR gene mutation (19 exons deletion and exon 21 L858R mutations) whose ECOG performance status was 0 or 1. Patients were randomly divided into 3 groups. Group A (n=20) were given carboplatin/pemetrexed of a 4-week cycle, six cycles at most, plus gefitinib (pemetrexed 500 mg/m2, d1; carboplatin AUC 5, d1; gefitinib 250 mg/d, d 5-21), and then re-ceived pemetrexed of a 4-week cycle plus gefitinib as maintenance therapy; Group B (n=20) were given carboplatin/peme-trexed of a 4-week cycle, six cycles at most (pemetrexed 500 mg/m2, d1; carboplatin AUC 5, d1), then received pemetrexed as maintenance therapy; Group C (n=21) were given gefitinib (gefitinib 250 mg/d). Patients continued to receive therapy until disease progression or unacceptable toxicity or death. The primary end point was middle PFS and 12 months PFS rate. The secondary end points included objective response rate and adverse events. Results:Groups A and C both lost 1 case during follow-up. Median PFS for patients was 20.1 months (95%CI:18.0-22.2) in group A, 5.5 months (95%CI:3.9-7.2) in group B, and 9.8 months (95%CI:6.8-12.8) in group C. PFS rates of 12 months for groups A, B and C were 78.9%, 15.0% and 40.0%, respectively. The overall objective response rates for groups A, B and C were 84.2%, 35.0% and 65.0%, respectively. Serious adverse events were reported by 36.8% for group A, 30.0% for group B, and 5.0% for group C. The most common grade 3/4 adverse events were neutropenia (3 cases in group A, 4 cases in group B), fatigue (2 cases in group A, 2 cases in group B) and liver function impairment (2 cases in group A, 1 case in group C).Conclusion:Among patients withEGFR mutant lung adenocarcinoma, combination of chemotherapy with gefitinib as first-line treatment demonstrates an improvement in PFS. Long-term survival results will be further followed up.

Objective:To explore the chain mediating effect of future orientation and academic engagement between perceived teacher support and academic procrastination in high school students. Methods:From December 2021 to February 2022, a survey was conducted on 550 high school students by the perceived teacher support questionnaire, the adolescent future orientation scale, the academic engagement scale, and the general procrastination scale-for student populations (GPS). Data were entered by EpiData 3.1 software, and SPSS 26.0 software was used to process and analyze the data by one-way ANOVA, Pearson correlation analysis and Bootstrap method test. Results:The scores of perceived teacher support, future orientation, academic engagement and academic procrastination were (3.77±0.80), (3.22±0.48), (68.11±18.08) and (52.32±11.78) respectively. The results of correlation analysis showed that academic procrastination was negatively correlated with perceived teacher support, future orientation and academic engagement ( r=-0.32, -0.38, -0.49, all P<0.01), while perceived teacher support was positively correlated with future orientation and academic engagement ( r=0.40, 0.43, both P<0.01). Future orientation was positively correlated with academic engagement ( r=0.56, P<0.01). The mediating effect analysis showed that perceived teacher support had a significant direct effect on academic procrastination (effect value: -0.10, 95% CI =-0.19--0.02), accounting for 32.26% of the total effect. The mediating effect between perceived teacher support and academic procrastination was found between future orientation and academic engagement (effect value: -0.05, 95% CI =-0.09- -0.02; effect values: -0.09, 95% CI=-0.15--0.05), accounting for 16.13% and 29.03% of the total effect respectively.Future orientation and academic engagement had a chain mediating effect between perceived teacher support and academic procrastination (effect value: -0.07, 95% CI=-0.10--0.04), accounting for 22.58% of the total effect. Conclusion:Perceived teacher support can influence academic procrastination, not only through the direct path, but also through the indirect path of future orientation and academic engagement, as well as chain mediating path between these two variables.

Collectively migrating tumor cells have been recently implicated in enhanced metastasis of epithelial malignancies. In oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC), v integrin is a crucial mediator of multicellular clustering and collective movement ; however, its contribution to metastatic spread remains to be addressed. According to the emerging therapeutic concept, dissociation of tumor clusters into single cells could significantly suppress metastasis-seeding ability of carcinomas. This study aimed to investigate the anti-OSCC potential of novel endostatin-derived polypeptide PEP06 as a cluster-dissociating therapeutic agent . Firstly, we found marked enrichment of v integrin in collectively invading multicellular clusters in human OSCCs. Our study revealed that metastatic progression of OSCC was associated with augmented immunostaining of v integrin in cancerous lesions. Following PEP06 treatment, cell clustering on fibronectin, migration, multicellular aggregation, anchorage-independent survival and colony formation of OSCC were significantly inhibited. Moreover, PEP06 suppressed v integrin/FAK/Src signaling in OSCC cells. PEP06-induced loss of active Src and E-cadherin from cell-cell contacts contributed to diminished collective migration of OSCC . Overall, these results suggest that PEP06 polypeptide 30 inhibiting v integrin/FAK/Src signaling and disrupting E-cadherin-based intercellular junctions possesses anti-metastatic potential in OSCC by acting as a cluster-dissociating therapeutic agent.

【Objective】 To investigate the relationship of miRNA gene polymorphisms with blood pressure (BP) responses to the sodium and potassium diet intervention. 【Methods】 In 2004, we recruited 514 participants from 124 families in seven villages of Baoji, Shaanxi Province, China. All subjects were given a three-day normal diet, followed by a seven-day low-salt diet, a seven-day high-salt diet, and finally a seven-day high-salt and potassium supplementation. A total of 19 miRNA single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) were selected for analysis. 【Results】 Throughout the sodium-potassium dietary intervention, the BP of the subjects fluctuated across all phases, showing a decrease during the low-salt period and an increase during the high-salt period, followed by a reduction in BP subsequent to potassium supplementation during the high-salt diet. MiR-210-3p SNP rs12364149 was significantly associated with systolic BP (SBP), diastolic BP (DBP) and mean arterial pressure (MAP) responses to low-salt diet. MiR-4638-3p SNP rs6601178 was significantly associated with SBP while miR-26b-3p SNP rs115254818 was significantly associated with MAP responses to low-salt intervention. In addition, miR-26b-3p SNP rs115254818 was significantly correlated with SBP, DBP and MAP responses to high-salt intervention. MiR-1307-5p SNPs rs11191676 and rs2292807 were associated with SBP and MAP responses to high-salt diet. MiR-4638-3p SNP rs6601178, miR-210-3p SNP rs12364149, miR-382-5p SNP rs4906032 and rs4143957 were significantly associated with SBP response to high-salt diet. In addition, miR-26b-3p SNP rs115254818 was significantly associated with SBP, DBP and MAP responses to potassium supplementation. MiR-1307-5p SNPs rs11191676, rs2292807, and miR-19a-3p SNP rs4284505 were significantly associated with SBP responses to high-salt and potassium supplementation. 【Conclusion】 miRNA gene polymorphisms are associated with BP response to sodium and potassium, suggesting that miRNA genes may be involved in the pathophysiological process of salt sensitivity and potassium sensitivity.
