1.The revision and application of Halstead—Reitan neuropsychological test battery for children in China

This article is a summary of the revision and application of Halstead—Reitan neuropsychological testbattery for Children in China.With the same features and principles remained in the revised edition,the battery were ad-ministered to children aged 9 to 14 and the age norms of Chinese children were established.The results of this researchindicate that the revised edition is of good reliability and validity,and that it is useful in diagnosing brain damage,plan-ning rehabilitation,and directing children's learning.
2.Study of the Sleep Quality of Frontier Armymen Located in the Desert and Its Correlated Factors

Objective: To investigate the the sleep quality of frontier armymen located in the Gobi desert and its corre- lated factors. Methods: The sleep quality of 302 frontier armymen located in the Gobi desert was assessed with Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PQSI). Results: The total scores of PQSI was 6.79?3.39,and 49.7% of the armymen suffered from sleep problems.The total scores of PQSI were correlated with health status,satisfaction with work,influence by the relation- ship with opposite sex,pressure from study and work,et al. Conclusion: The sleep quality problem of the frontier armymen located in the Gobi desert was more than normal people, and special measures should be taken to improve their sleep quality.
3.Coping Strategies and Mental Health of Students of Military Medical University

Objective: To explore the coping strategies of students of military medical university, and the relationship between coping strategies and mental health. Methods: 4786 students of military medical university were assessed with the Simplified Coping Style and SCL-90. Results: 30~40% of the student chose active strategies when facing stresses. Fewer students adopt negative strategies (2~38%). The SCL-90 score of the students of military medical university were lower than students of other military schools. Positive coping strategies were associated with less SCL-90 score (fewer somatic and mental discomfort).Conclusion:Coping strategies are associated with mental health in student of military medical university.
4.Cognition and Self-Rated Health in Military Personnel in High Altitude Area

Objective: To investigate the relationship between the cognition and the self-rated health in military personnel in high altitude area. Methods: 490 military personnel in high altitude area were assessed with Self-rated Health Measurement Scale and the questionnaire of cognitive appraisal to environment and service. Results: The scores of the self-rated health in military personnel in high altitude area were higher than average(6.5~7.9, full score is 10); The main factors perceived by soldiers as having negative influence on health were poor communication with outside (53.6%), lack of opportunity of contact with opposite sex(51.8%), lack of amusement(48.4%)and service of hygiene(46.2%). To explore the effects of the psychological behavior training on the recruits' physical performance. A total of 380 recruits selected from the Department of General Staff and missile troops were divided into experimental group and control group. The recruits of the experimental group undertook psychological behavior training before athletic exercises, including 3 000-meter running, grenade throwing, and push-up. The scores of these athletic exercises were compared between recruits of two groups. 7.Quality of Life and its Related Factors of Graduate Students in Military Medical Universities

Objective: To investigate the status of the quality of life (QOL) and its related factors of graduate students in military medical universities. Methods: 189 graduate students of a military medical university were assessed with WHO Quality of Life-BREF, Eysenck Personality Questionnaire (EPQ), Life Event Scale, Perceived Social Support Scale, and Simplified Coping Style Questionnaire. Results: The scores of QOL of graduate students in the military medical university were higher than average; The four domains of QOL were significantly correlated with introversion- extroversion, neuroticism, life event, social support, and coping style. The result from multiple regression showed that introversion- extroversion, neuroticism, social support, life event, and negative coping style were main factors influencing QOL. Conclusion: The status of the QOL of graduate students in military medical universities was pretty good; Their QOL could be improved by these factors, such as keeping stable emotion, developing extroversion, seeking social support, relieving the influence of bad life event, reducing negative coping behavior.
8.Coping Strategies and Self- Rated Health of Military Personnel in Tibet

Objective: To investigate the coping strategies and it’s relationship with self- rated health state of military personnel in Tibet. Methods: 490 military personnel in Tibet were assessed by Simplified Coping Style Questionnaire and Self- rated Health Measurement Scale. Results: Military personnel in Tibet adopting positive strategies (23.3%) were more than those adopting negative strategies(16.2%) when facing stresses. The most common coping strategies they adopted were "restraining negative emotion(36.9%)" and "consoling themselve(s41.2%)". The scores of positive coping style had signifi- cant correlation with the scores of three subscales and the total scores of the self- rated health. Conclusion: Different cop- ing strategies have different effects on self- rated health of military personnel in Tibet, and the positive strategies could im- prove their status of self- rated health, but negative ones had contrary effect to health.
9.A Study of the Quality of Sleep and the Quality of Life in the Chinese People's Armed Police Forces of Guangdong Province

Objective: To study the quality of sleep and the quality of life in the Chinese People's Armed Police Forces of Guangdong province. Methods: By random unitary sampling, the PSQI Scale and the WHOQOL-BREF Scale were used in 1170 people of the Chinese People's Armed Police Forces in Guangdong province. Results: The total score of the quality of sleep in the Chinese People's Armed Police Forces of Guangdong province was 6.73?3.13. The scores of physiological, psychological, social, and environmental domains of the quality of life for the good-sleepers were higher than that of the ordinary-sleepers and the bad-sleepers. The scores of the four domains of the quality of life were correlated with the scores of PSQI negatively. Conclusion: The quality of sleep could influence the quality of life.
10.Coping Strategies of the Elderly with Impaired Glucose Regulation of Different Prognosis

Objective: To explore the coping strategies of the elderly with Impaired Glucose Regulation(IGR), to compare the differences of coping strategies among the groups of different prognosis and to provide some advice on psychological intervention. Methods: Fasting Plasma Glucose (FPG)and two-hour postprandial Plasma Glucose of OGTT(OGTT2hPG)of 220 old persons with IGR were tested, and they were assessed by TCSQ. Results: 27.73%~78.64% of old people with IGR chose active strategies when facing stress, 4.09%~18.18% of them adopted negative strategies. There were no significant differences of coping strategies among the groups of different prognosis. Conclusion: It was better to pay more attention to those who mainly selected negative strategies in psychological intervention on the elderly with IGR.
