Objective To investigate the role of the expression of latent transforming growth factor beta binding protein-1 (LTBP-1) and transforming growth factor beta receptor type Ⅱ(TGF-beta R Ⅱ) in the pathogenesis of condyloma acuminatum (CA). Methods Samples were resected from the lesions of 30 patients with CA and prepuces of 17 normal human controls. The mRNA and protein expressions of LTBP-1 and TGF-betaR Ⅱ were assessed by quantitative real-time PCR and a streptavidin-biotin-peroxidase staining technique, respectively. Results As shown by Real time PCR, the mRNA expression levels of LTBP-1 and TGF-betaR Ⅱ were significantly higher in CA tissues than those in the controls, with the average value of 2 (-Delta Delta α) being 2.46 and 3.43, respectively. A lower intensity of stainning was observed for LTBP-1 and TGF-betaR Ⅱ in CA tissues compared with the normal controls (182.51±9.89 vs 167.78±12.56, 187.35± 11.23 vs 170.15±13.21, t = 5.62, 3.70 respectively, both P <0.01). Conclusion The decrease in the expres-sion of both LTBP-1 and TGF-betaR Ⅱ may lead to the abnormality in the activation of TGF-beta and signal transduction pathways.

Objective To evaluate the imaging features of benign fibrous histiocytoma (BFH).Methods Imaging data were retrospectively collected and reviewed in 11 patients with pathologically proved BFH.Of the 11 patients,X-ray was performed in all patients,MR scans in 6 patients, and CT scans in 4 patients. Results ALL lesions detected were a solitary lesion. The distribution of BFH was in the tibia (n =5 ),femur ( n =3),fibula ( n =1 ),sacrum ( n =1 ),and thoracic vertebrae ( n =1 ).X-ray features included eccentric osteolytic lesions in 7 patients and centric in 2 patients, with clear boundary and thinning of the cortex, and 7 patients with varying degrees of ossified border were found. CT scan shows bone destruction with density similar to soft tissue. The majority of lesions ( n =3 ) were observed in the expanding shell of bone,2 patients in the tibia and 1 patient in the thoracic lesions with cortical bone perforation. The thoracic lesion as soft tissue mass was detected. All of the lesions detected in CT showed no periosteal reaction. In patients with MR images, hypo to isointense signal intensity on T1WI and hyperintense signal intensity on T2WI was found. All lesions on post-contrast T1WI were detected with homogeneous or heterogeneous lesion with moderate or significant enhancement. Conclusion Imaging features were typical for MFH which is useful tool helping correct diagnosis of MFH.

Objective To evaluate the clinical effects of ultrasonography for structural examination in the diagnosis of fetal brain malformation and neural tube defects ( NTDs ) in early pregnancy . Methods A retrospective study was conducted to analyse 6 630 cases taking obstetric examination in Dongguan Maternal and Child Health Hospital from February 2014 to June 2015. The examination included a standardized ultrasound structural examination at 11-13 plus 6 weeks of pregnancy. The autopsied results of the induced fetus in early pregnancy from craniocerebral and neural tube structure malformation were investigated. All the cases were followed up concerning the outcomes and the malformation detection rate was calculated for analysis. Results The detection rates of exencephalus and anencephalus, holoprosencephaly, aphylly-holoprosencephaly, rachischisis, open spina bifida, and meningocele were 100%, 80%, 100%, 42.9%, 50% and 100%, respectively. The malformations which was missed in the early pregnancy but detected in the later gestational ages included:Dandy-Walker Syndrome, most of the non-open spina bifida, hypoplasia of the corpus callosum, foliaceous-holoprosencephaly and ventriculomegaly. Conclusions The structural examination using ultrasonography at early pregnancy is effective in the detection of severe open-neural tube defects. It′s worth generalizing in the cliical diagnosis but part of fetal malformations still need a further ultrasound examination in the mid-gestation or the later gestation.

Surface molecularly imprinted polymers (SMIPs) for selective adsorption of ampicillin sodium were synthesized using surface molecular imprinting technique with silica gel as a support. The physical and morphological characteristics of the polymers were investigated by scanning electron microscope (SEM), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), thermogravimetric analysis (TGA), elemental analysis and nitrogen adsorption–desorption test. The obtained results showed that the SMIPs displayed great adsorption capacity (13.5μg/mg), high recognition ability (the imprinted factor is 3.2) and good binding kinetics for ampicillin sodium. Finally, as solid phase extraction adsorbents, the SMIPs coupled with HPLC method were validated and applied for the enrichment, purification and determination of ampicillin sodium in real milk and blood samples. The averages of spiked accuracy ranged from 92.1%to 107.6%. The relative standard deviations of intra-and inter-day precisions were less than 4.6%. This study provides a new and promising method for enriching, extracting and determining ampicillin sodium in complex biological samples.
