Objective To screen the active cardiovascular components from Rhizoma Polygonati and to observe the effect on myocardial ischemia rat. Methods The active components from Rhizoma Polygonati were extracted by system solvent separation methods, and their cardiovascular effects on the rat models induced by subcutaneous injection of isoproterenol were tracked to find out the optimal active cardiovascular components. Results Among the extracts from Rhizoma Polygonati, the n-Butanol(EB)extract which consisted of glycosides and aglycons, was the best active cardiovascular component;aqueous extract which consisted of alkaloids, flavonoids, glycosides and aglycons, was the better component;the emulsion of Rhizoma Polygonati, which consisted of petroleum ether extract, chloroform extract and water-ethanol extract had less cardiovascular activity. Conclusions The parts with medium polarity from Rhizoma Polygonati have the best cardiovascular activities.

Objective To analyze and identify the mutations of ATP6V0A4 and ATP6V1B1 gene in autosomal recessive distal renal tubular acidosis (rdRTA) children, and study the association of genotype and phenotype. Methods Genome DNA was amplified by PCR.Mutations of ATP6V0A4 and ATP6V1B1 gene in 3 children from 3 families were examined by direct sequencing. One hundred unrelated healthy subjects were selected to evaluate all mutations found in this study. Results A novel homozygous nonsense mutation was identified in ATP6VOA4 gene in one child, and a novel heterozygous nonsense variant and a frame-shift alteration were found in another child. No mutation of both genes was found in the third child. Conclusions Study of mutant genes of rdRTA in Chinese patients is helpful to understand the association in genotype and phenotype and increase the level of cognition and treatment to this disease.

AIM:To study the pharmacological action of Zhikang Capsule (Herba et Radix, Paederiae scandentis, etc.) METHODS: To establish the model of anus injury in the rectal position on rabbit, anti-inflammation and analgesia effect in rats and mice were observed by carrageen and hot-plate method, and inflammatory mediator PGE_2 of rat paw edema was analysed. RESULTS: Zhikang Capsule had the obvious effect to help heal and recover the anus injury in the rectal position and it could inhibit rats’ thorax leukocytoplania and rat paw edema of Garrageenan-induced and cotton pellet-induced granuloma formation in mice. The exudation of blood capillaryies and the contents of inflammatory medium PGE_2 were lowered and improved in the pain threshold. CONCLUSION: Zhikang Capsule has the obvious effect on the healing and recovery of the anus injury in the rectal position, its anti-inflammiting effect is related to the decrease in the exudation of blood capillaries and the contents of inflammatory medium PGE_2.

Objective:To assess the validity and reliability of the Chinese version of the eleven-item Kutcher Adolescent Depression Scale (KADS-11)in Chinese adolescents, calculate its optimal cut-off value and the sensi-tivity and specificity, and explore the possibility of providing a useful tool to assess the severity of adolescent de-pressive symptoms. Methods:Totally 3180 students aged 11 -17 years were selected from schools in 6 provinces and Shanghai. All of them were asked to complete the KADS-11 and Children Depression Inventory (CDI). Students whose CDI scores were above 19 (including 19)were diagnosed with the DSM-IV criteria of depressive disorder,73 students from Shanghai sample were assessed with KADS-11 and CDI to analyze the test-retest reliabil-ity 1 month later. Results:Exploratory factor analysis showed that KADS-11 had 2 factors, and confirmatory factor analysis tested proved the 2-factor model fit better than the one-factor model. The KADS-11 total scores were posi-tively correlated with CDI total scores (r =0.74,P <0.01 ),and the KADS-11 scores were higher in depressive group than those in non-depressive group. The mean area under the curve (AUC)of KADS-11was 0.94,the mean area under the curve of each item ranged from 0.7 to 0.9.The optimal cut-off point of KADS-11 was total score≥9,sensitivity and specificity were 89% and 90% respectively. The Cronbach's alpha coefficient of the KADS-11 was 0.84,the spilt-half reliability coefficient was 0.71 (P <0.01),and the test-retest coefficient was 0.77 (P <0.01).Conclusion:The KADS-11 is appropriate for Chinese adolescents because of its good validity, reliability and diagnosis accuracy,it could be used to assess depressive symptoms for adolescents.

Objective:To investigate symptoms of anxiety and depression among primary and middle school students quarantined in hotels during the COVID-19 epidemic. Methods:Anxiety and depression symptoms among 726 primary and middle school students quarantined in hotels were investigated with The Screen for Child Anxiety Related Emotional Disorders(SCARED)and Depression Self-rating Scale for Children(DSRSC)from September to October 2022 in Chifeng City,Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. There were 624 students completed investi-gation with response rate of 86%.The positive score of SCARED was ≥23 and DSRSC was ≥ 15.Results:The detection rates of anxiety and depression were 17.9%and 15.4%respectively.The detection rates of anxiety and depression were higherin middle school students than inprimary school students(Ps<0.05).The scores of general-ized anxiety and social phobia factors were higher in female students than in male students(Ps<0.05).The scores of dissociative anxiety factor and depression were higher in middle school students than in primary school students(Ps<0.05).Conclusion:During the COVID-19 epidemic, middle school students quarantined in hotels are more likely to have anxiety and depression symptoms than primary school students, and female students are more likely to have anxiety symptoms than male students.

OBJECTIVETo investigate the etiology of severe hand-foot-mouth disease (HFMD) in children in Henan province.
METHODSA total of 244 HFMD cases admitted to a hospital in Zhengzhou from April to June of 2014 were recruited for research sampling, Real-time RT-PCR, virus isolation, VP1 sequencing and alignment methods were used to test the enterovirus-related etiology. SPSS 17.0 was used in performing statistical analysis.
RESULTSThere were 109 severe and 135 mild cases among all the 244 HFMD cases. The number of enterovirus positive stool samples was 229, with positive rate as 93.85%. EV71, Cox A16 and Cox A10 made up 83.84%, 5.68% and 8.30% of the enterovirus etiologicy, strains, respectively. EV71 infection caused 8 HFMD cases with heart-lung failure and 2 death, Cox A10 infection led to 1 HFMD case with heart-lung failure and death. There were statistically differences seen regarding the enterovirus infection rates between severe and the mild HFMD cases (χ(2)=5.312,P=0.021). Statistically significant difference was seen in the constituent ratio of EV71, Cox A16 and the others by Fisher' s exact test (P=0.048). There was statistically significant difference seen between the cardiorespiratory failure rate and the fatality rate by EV71 and Cox A10 infection (χ(2)=0.051,P=0.821; χ(2)=2.198,P=0.138). Cox A10 strains idenfied in Henan in 2014 belonged to genotype 6. The rates on homology of nucleotide and amino acid among the Cox A10 strains in Henan in 2014 were 94.3%-99.7% and 96.3%-100.0% respectively.
CONCLUSIONSEV71 still remained the most common pathogen that causing severe HFMD in children, with the increasing Cox A10 percentage in the pathogens spectrum of HFMD infection. Cox A10 strains in Henan in 2014 belonged to genotype 6. Genotype 6 Cox A10 had appeared and widely distributed in Henan for long time, but not yet variated or reconstructed. Cox A10 infection could lead to cardio-respiratory failure thus called for the monitoring program on non-EV71 and non-Cox A16 enterovirus, especially Cox A10 to be strenthened.
