4.Interaction and mechanism of various regulatory factors in osteogenic differentiation of mesenchymal stem cells
Journal of Shanghai Jiaotong University(Medical Science) 2017;37(5):694-698
Osteogenic differentiation of mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) is an important link of bone metabolism and bone repair, the mechanism of which is usually complicated. Recent studies have found that BMP, FGF, Wnt, Hedgehog, NELL1, IGF, Notch and othersignaling molecules are involved in the regulation of osteogenic differentiation of MSCs. These signaling molecules themselves have been shown to have a strong ability to promote osteogenic differentiation. They can activate the corresponding receptors by specific ligands, thus initiating the specific signal transduction pathways in the cell, and finally promote the transcription and translation of the genes related to bone formation. Furthermore, all the signaling pathways form a complex network which regulates and influences the osteogenic differentiation ofMSCs. Further researches on the mechanism of the interaction of these signaling pathways is of great significance in promoting the development of bone tissue engineering and the treatment of bone metabolic diseases.

OBJECTIVE:To establish a method for the identification of Chongqing local medicinal material Heracleum hemsley-anum. METHODS:The original plant morphology, morphological characteristics, microscopic characteristics (transverse section and powder),were identified. RESULTS:H. hemsleyanum had cone shape root,brown,many-branched with special fragrance;the microscopic characteristics of taproot a transverse showed no differences with lateral root transverse section, primary xylem was di-arch,secondary phloem was more developed than secondary xylem, secondary phloem was rich in the oil chamber. Vascular tissues contained a large number of parenchyma cells. In TLC chromatrogram, the test sample showed the same color fluorescent spots with-the substance reference of osthole and columbianadin in the corresponding locations. CONCLUSIONS:The established method is simple with high accuracy, and can be used as the basis for identification of H. hemsleyanum.

Chinese Journal of Organ Transplantation 2005;0(10):-
Objective To discuss the feasibility of the lung transplantation as an effective treatment for end-stage pulmonary diseases domestically and to compare the major issues involving the practice of lung transplantation domestically and overseas. Methods After the foundation of group of lung transplantation in May 2002, lung transplantation models of porcine were set up. From September 2002 to April 2005, in the 18 cases undergoing lung transplantation, there were subjected to single-lung transplantion (SLT, 83.3%) and 3 bilateral sequential single lung transplants without CPB (DSSLT, 16.7%). Indications for SLT (n=15) included emphysema (n=9), pulmonary fibrosis (n=3), pneumosilicosis (n=1), lymphangioleiomyomatosis (n=1) and ventricular septal defect (VSD) induced Eisenmenger's syndrome (n=1); for DSSLT (n=3) bronchiectasis (n=1) and pulmonary emphysema (n=2). Among the 15 SLTs, there were 9 cases of left SLT and 6 right SLT. Among them, 2 cases shared one same donor's lung block, one case received contralateral lung transplantation―a left donor lung implanted in the recipient’s right thorax, and one case simultaneous right SLT and VSD repair. Results In hospital mortality (HM) was 3/18 ( 16.7%). Among SLTs, early death was due to severe rejection on the 30th postoperative day in one patient and acute rejection on the 15th postoperative day in other patients, and another patient died due to pulmonary vein embolism on the 36th day. There were 3 and 2 patients with the survival time longer than 1 and 2 years respectively. The median overall survival was 10 (2 to 32) months. Conclusions Our LT program shows similar results to those reported by the International Society for Heart and Lung Transplantation for developed countries. The key of successful operation depends on the establishment of group of lung transplantation and cooperation of multi-department. Ischemic-reperfusion injury, acute-rejection and infection are the major reasons of deaths shortly after the operations.

AIM: To find a more efficient and accurate method for medical image enhancement to resolve the problem of low local contrast, which often appears in magnetic resonance (MR) images.METHODS: Based on the investigation into the previous methods, a new algorithm was presented. The main features were as follows: Non-dual was used in the morphological operations and addition instead of multiplication was used in the contrast stretching operations. To avoid some gray-level bias, the method of normalized gray-level under condition was proposed.RESULTS: The new algorithm was tested by real MR images and simulated experiments. Compared with the previous method, the new method is more accurate, faster and less sensitive to noise.CONCLUSION: Non-dual morphological operations can achieve local contrast enhancement in a more accurate way, and the gray level bias can be eliminated by normalization.
