This study was aimed to observe the clinical curative effect of Qing-Re Li-Shi Hua-Y u (QRLSHY) decoction combined with acupuncture in the treatment of chronic pelvic inflammatory disease (PID) with syndrome of damp-heat and blood-stasis. A total of 120 cases were randomly divided into the acupuncture combined with traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) group, TCM group, and acupuncture group, with 40 cases in each group. The TCM group was given oral administration with QRLSHY decoction. The acupuncture group was given acupuncture on SP6-Sanyinj iao and RN6-Qihai . The acupuncture combined with TCM group was given oral administration with QRLSHY decoction and acupuncture treatment. The treatment course of each group was 2 months. The ob-servation was made on clinical efficacy, clinical symptoms, body signs, changes of laboratory indexes, and relapse rate of three groups. The results showed that compared with pretreatment, the total effective rate of the acupunc-ture combined with TCM group, TCM group and the acupuncture group was obviously increased after treatment (P< 0 . 05 ) . Compared with pretreatment , the clinical symptoms and body signs such as abdominal pain , abdominal bulge, backache, leucorrhea increased, dysmenorrhea, menstrual disorders, lassitude, appendix thickening, pelvic tenderness, and pelvic mass were significantly improved in all three groups (P < 0.05). After treatment, clinical symptoms and body signs of the acupuncture treatment with TCM group had more obvious advantages than the TCM group and the acupuncture group ( P < 0 . 05 ) . Compared with pretreatment , the cervical or vaginal mucus pu-rulent secretion, vaginal wet film mirror of white blood cells, white blood cell count, absolute neutrophil count of all three groups were significantly improved ( P < 0 . 05 ) . After treatment , the acupuncture combined with TCM group had more obvious advantages than the TCM group and acupuncture group ( P < 0 . 05 ) . The relapse rate of the acupuncture combined with TCM group was obviously lower than the TCM group and the acupuncture group 6 months, 9 months, and 12 months after treatment (P < 0.05). It was concluded that QRLSHY decoction combined with acupuncture had obvious clinical curative effect in the treatment of chronic PID with syndrome of damp-heat and blood-stasis. The effect was better than only use TCM or acupuncture. It is worth of promoting in the clini-cal practice .

This study was aimed to observe effects of qi-stagnation and blood-stasis pattern of primary dysmenorrhea (PD) treated by Huo-Xue Li-Qi Zhi-Tong (HXLQZT) decoction combined with acupuncture. A total of 130 PD patients, which were selected from January 2011 to January 2014 at the Chongqing Academy of Traditional Chinese Medicine, were randomly divided into the treatment group and the control group, with 65 cases in each group. The control group was treated with ibuprofen sustained release capsules and the treatment group was given HXLQZT decoction combined with acupuncture. After the treatment of 3 menstrual cycles, indexes were observed from aspects including visual analogue score (VAS), PGF2a, PGE2, PGF2a/PGE2, clinical efficacy and relapse circumstance before and after treatment in two groups. The results showed that compared with pretreatment, there were obvious decreased VAS in both the treatment group and the control group (P<0.05), decreased PGF2a, increased PGE2 content, and obvious decreased PGF2a/PGE2 ratio (P < 0.05). Compared with the control group, the cure rate and the total efficiency of the treatment group were significantly increased (P < 0.05). The VAS was significantly decreased in the third menstrual cycle after treatment (P < 0.05). The ratio of PGF2a/PGE2 was significantly decreased (P < 0.05). In the end of 6-month, 9-month and 12-month treatment, relapse rates of the treatment group were significantly lower than those of the control group (P<0.05). It was concluded that HXLQZT decoction combined with acupuncture can regulated the plasma content of PGF2a and PGE2 and reduce the relapse rate among PD patients. It had obvious effect on PD patients with superior treatment effect compared to western medicine treatment. Therefore, it was worthy of a promotion.

This study was aimed to explore clinical effect on treatment of rheumatoid arthritis (RA) of cold-dampness syndrome by the combination of Wen-Jing San-Han Tong-Luo (WJSHTL) decoction and acupuncture. A total of 88 RA patients were selected and randomly divided into the control group and the treatment group. All 44 cases in the control group were orally administrated with diclofenac sodium, sulphasalazine (SASP) and methotrexate (MTX). All 44 cases in the treatment group were treated with the combination of WJSHTL decoction and acupuncture on the ba-sis of western medication the same as the control group. Each group was treated for three months. Improvements of clinical symptoms, body signs and laboratory indexes were observed. The results showed that clinical symptoms, body signs and laboratory indexes were greatly improved in the comparison before and after treatment in both groups with statistical significance (P < 0.05). Compared to the control group, the treatment group had no statistical significance in the improvement of rest pain, swelling numbers and index, tenderness numbers and index, morning stiffness time, liver and kidney function. Compared with the control group, the treatment group had more obvious advantages in the improvement of joint function, hand grip strength, erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR) decreasing, C-reactive protein (CRP) and rheumatoid factor (P< 0.05). It was concluded that compared with single western medication, the combi-nation of WJSHTL decoction and acupuncture with western medication had certain advantages in the improvement of joint function of RA and management of patient's disease condition.
