AIM To study whether chlorpromazine(CPZ) and verapamil (Ver) have protective effects on the nephrotoxicity of cadmium (Cd). METHODS Thirtytwo Wistar rats were divided randomly into four groups. Each agent was injected 5 times per week for 6 weeks. The rats in Cd-treated group were sc injected with CdCl2 7μmol·kg-1. The rats of CPZ- and Ver- pretreated group were ip injected with CPZ 5 mg· kg- 1, Ver 4 mg· kg- 1,respectively, 1 h later sc injected with CdCl2 7 μ mol·kg- 1. The control group was sc injected with saline 2 mL·kg-1 at corresponding time. Twenty-four hours after the last injection, the 24-h urine samples were collected. The renal cortex was also excised. Lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) activity, protein and Cd concentration in urine were determined. The activities of protein kinase C (PKC), Na + -K + -ATPase, Ca2 + -ATPase and Cd concentration of renal cortex were also measured. RESULTS Cd concentrations of renal cortex and urine in rats from Cd-treated group were significantly higher than those of control group.Cd concentrations in urine of rats from CPZ- and Ver-pretreated groups were significantly lower than those of Cd-treated group, but there was no significant change in renal cortex. As compared with control group, LDH activity, protein content in urine and the activities of PKC, Na+ -K+ -ATPase and Ca2+ -ATPase in the rats of Cd-treated group increased significantly. LDH activity, protein content in urine and activities of PKC,Na+ -K+ -ATPase and Ca2+ -ATPase in rats of CPZ- and Ver-pretreated groups were significantly lower than those of Cd-treated group. CONCLUSIONCd could activate the activities of PKC,Na+-K+-ATPase and Ca2+-ATPase. Moreover, pretreatment of CPZ and Ver could reduce nephrotoxicity of Cd.

5.The differentiation of malignant and benign lesions of the breast by quantitative Ultrasound elastography
Journal of Medical Postgraduates 2016;29(8):836-840
Objective The widely use of ultrasound elastography has increased the detection rate of breast cancer. It has great advantage of differential diagnosis of breast tumor. Our study is to evaluate and compare the value of the quantitative ultrasound elastography parameters of AR ( area ratio) , ESR ( entire strain ratio) , LSR ( locolized strain ratio) , EFLR( entire fat to lesion ratio) and LFLR( locolized fat to lesion ratio) in the differential diagnosis of breast tumor. Methods 110 patients with 113 breast tumors were collected from Nanjing General Hospital of Nanjing Military Region between January 2015 and January 2016 who underwent breast exami-nation.The tumors were divided into two groups according to patholo-gy which acts as gold standard:benign group with 59 lesions and ma-lignant group with 54 lesions.Participants underwent quantitative ul-trasound elastography parameters examination.AR、ESR、LSR、EFLR、LFLR were compared between benign group and malignant group and ROC curve was drawn.Conventional ultrasound and ultrasound elastography parameter are combined to differentiate the benign or malignant lesion.Calculate the various parameters on the accuracy、susceptibility、specificity、positive likelihood ratio、negative likeli-hood ratio of the diagnosis of benign and malignant lesions, and determine the quantitative parameter with the highest accuracy. Results The mean value of AR、ESR、LSR、EFLR and LFLR of malignant lesions were all significantly greater than that of benign le-sions (P=0.000).Compared with the conventional ultrasound, AR、ESR、LSR、EFLR and LFLR have higher AUC in the differentia-tion of benign and malignant breast lesions;AUC of AR and ESR are higher than conventional ultrasound、LSR、EFLR and LFLR( P<0.000).Compared with conventional ultrasound(1.523) alone, conventional ultrasound combined separately with AR、ESR、EFLR and LFLR have higher positive likelihood ratio(11.581、8.272、3.482、2.458、2.100) in the differentiation of benign and malignant breast lesions, so as accuracy、susceptibility、specificity(P<0.000).The AUC of conventional ultrasound combined separately with AR and ESR[0.940(0.890~0.990)、0.941(0.891~0.990)] were higher than conventional ultrasound and conventional ultrasound com-bined separately with LSR、EFLR、LFLR[0.669(0.669~0.768)、0.837(0.759~0.915)、0.763(0.673~0.852)、0.787(0.701~0.874)],so as accuracy、susceptibility、specificity and positive likelihood ratio(P<0.000). Conclusion Quantitative ultrasound elastography may be helpful in differentiation of benign and malignant breast lesions, especially combining conventional ultrasound with AR and ESR, which were superior to combining with the other parameters and provide a more objective and credible basis to differenti-ate benign and malignant breast tumors with conventional ultrasound.

Objective To understand the demand for chronic disease care by Dongying residents so as to provide basis for the formulation of disease control strategies by the government. Methods A sample survey was made on family health services dehvered to Dongying residents and an analysis was made using an economic model of demand elasticity. Results The coefficients of price elasticity for basic chronic disease care in the urban and rural areas of Dongying were respectively -0.268 and -0.469 and the coefficients of income elasticity were respectively 0.176 and 0.370. The price and income factors had a fairly big influence on the demand of the rural residents. Conclusion The price factor of health services must he taken into serious consideration in managing medical and health services institutions so as to genuinely improve the demand for health services by residents.

Journal of Acupuncture and Tuina Science 2010;08(3):141-144
The composition of moxibustion quantity is discussed, and it is believed that the effective moxibustion quantity is a certain threshold range, which is influenced by the functional state of the patient and different moxibustion methods. Based on the foundation of conventional moxibustion quantity, the quantity should be adjusted according to patient's constitution, age, moxibustion area, affected region, nature of disease and the sensitivity. Through different methods and techniques, the stimulus intensity and time can be altered to approach a proper moxibustion quantity.

Objective To investigate the CT imaging features of pancreatic fatty replacement and its clinical significance. Methods Three patients with pancreatic fatty replacement detected by CT were retrospectively analyzed. CT examination included plain scan and contrast-enhanced scanning at the arterial and portal venous phases. The shape, size, density, pancreatic lobulation and interlobular spaces, course of the pancreatic duct were carefully observed. The clinic and laboratory data were also analyzed to determine the clinical significance of pancreatic fatty replacement. Results ①Imaging features: Two patients had complete fatty replacement involving the entire pancreas, another one had most fatty replacement sparing the posterior aspect of head and tail. Two patients had regular configuration of pancreas. The size of pancreas was slightly enlarged in 2 patients. Lobular atrophy and widening of interlobular spaces were present in all 3 patients. The pancreatic duct was normal in 3 patients. ②Clinic findings: Chronic diarrhea was present in 3 patients. Two patiens had diabetes (one had chronic cholangitis with choledochal lithiasis), another one had small stone in the common bile duct. Serum lipase was low in 3 patients, of which one had low serum amylase. Conclusion Pancreatic fatty replacement demonstrates certain characteristic CT appearances, and is usually associated with disturbances of both the endocrine and exocrine functions of the pancreas.
