2.Preparation of titanium implant surface bioactive membrane
Chinese Journal of Tissue Engineering Research 2009;13(38):7489-7492
BACKGROUND: The coating induced by conventional simulated body fluid (SBF) and 1.5-folds SBF as biomimetic method has the shortcomings of slowly growth with weeks or months growth cycle. OBJECTIVE: To evaluate Ti-6Al-4V alloy surface deposition of hydroxyapatite coating induced by 3-folds SBF. DESIGN, TIME AND SETTING: In vitro biological analysis. The experiment was performed at the Institute of Metal Research, Chinese Academy of Sciences from November 2008 to March 2009. MATERIALS: Ti-6A1-4V alloy was supported by Boda Metel Materials Co., Ltd. METHODS: The pretreated Ti-6Al-4V alloy was immersed in 37 'C 3-folds SBF. The SBF was replaced every 24 hours for 3 days. MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES: The morphology, phase and elemental composition of calcium phosphate coating were analyzed by scanning electron microscopy, X-ray diffraction and infrared spectroscopy analysis. RESULTS: The scanning electron microscopy exhibited that the surface of Ti-6A1 -4V alloy was covered with deposited film with granular crystal on local areas at day 1 after immersion. The deposited film covered surface of Ti-6A1-4V alloy at day 3 after immersion, and granular or scale-shaped crystal could be seen. The crystal deposition displayed sustained growth with certain area as center. The product comprised Ca, P, O, C elements without Al, V. X-ray diffraction and infrared spectroscopy analysis revealed that the main component of the coating was hydroxyapatite. CONCLUSION: The 3-folds SBF can accelerate the deposition as well as shorten formation duration of hydroxyapatite coating on Ti-6A1-4V alloy.
3.Static balance ability of functional ankle instability patients
Chinese Journal of Tissue Engineering Research 2013;(35):6287-6292
BACKGROUND:At present, the study to balance ability of functional ankle instability patients is less. The
balance ability deficiency may also be one of the important reasons for ankle repeated injury, so the research can effectively reduce the damage probability.
OBJECTIVE:To explore the static balance ability characteristics of functional ankle instability patients.
METHODS:Ten male subjects with unilateral functional ankle instability were enrol ed as the experimental group in the study, and other 10 healthy match-paired subjects were served as the control group. Their static balance ability was measured under double feet standing and single foot standing using win-pod system, the double feet testing lasted for 30 seconds and the single foot testing lasted for 10 seconds. Evaluation parameters of balance ability were obtained.
RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:During double feet testing, there were no significant differences in balance
ability parameters between the experimental group and the control group whether eyes be opened or closed (P>0.05), but the index values of double feet testing were obviously less than those of single foot testing. So we
concluded that in the double feet standing, there was no significant difference in the static balance ability between functional ankle instability patients and normal persons. Moreover, the static balance ability of double feet was
better than that of single feet. In the single foot standing of the affected foot, the static balance ability of functional ankle instability patients was slightly worse than that of the normal persons, especial y with eyes closed.
Comparison of the average swing between the X-axis and Y-axis found that in the process of maintaining balance posture, the swing direction of the body center of gravity was mainly in the anteroposterior direction.

Chinese Journal of Nephrology 2008;24(5):349-355
Objective To explore whether the inhibited expression of fibrocystin by RNA interference can increase epidermal growth factor (EGF)-induced cell proliferation and its possible mechanism . Methods A stable PKHD1-silenced HEK 293 cell line was established . Cell proliferation rate, intracellular Ca2+ concentration and extracellular signal-reguhted kinase 1/2(ERK1/2) activity were assessed after treatment with EGF, verapamil and Bay K8644 . Results The proliferation rate of PKHD1-silenced HEK-293 cells was found to be significantly higher after EGF stimulation compared to the control HEK 293 cell (231 .5% vs 152 .8%, P<0 .01) . PKHD1-silencing lowered the intracellular Ca2+ concentration and caused EGF-induced ERK1/2 overactivation in the cells(P<0 .01 ) . When cells were treated with verapamil for 4 hours to lower the intracellular Ca2+ concentration, the cell proliferation rate was significantly increased after 20 ng EGF for 24 hours . The verapamil treatment increased the level of activated ERK1/2 in EGF-treated cells . An increase of intracellular Ca2 + in PKHD1-silenced ceils repressed the EGF-dependent ERK1/2 activation and the hyperproliferative response to EGF stimulation . Conclusions Inhibition of fibrocystin can cause EGF-induced excessive proliferation through decreasing intracellular Ca2+ resulting in EGF-induced ERK1/2 activation . The loss of fibrocystin may lead to abnormal proliferation in kidney epithelial cells and cyst formation in ARPKD through modulation of intracellular Ca2+ concentration .
5.The correlation analysis of the epicardial signals by Shannon entropy.
Chinese Journal of Medical Instrumentation 2014;38(3):165-167
This paper applied the Shannon Entropy based on the cross correlation to analyze the epicardial signals from anterior wall of the canine atria. The result demonstrated that during sinus rhythm, the stability level of the correlation among signals from anterior right atria is much higher than the signals from anterior left atria. All the signals from the anterior wall descended when the rhythm changed from sinus rhythm to atrial fibrillation(AF). However, there were some regions still having a stable correlation during AF. The results will be helpful to enhance understanding of the correlation characteristic of AF.

8.Methods for construction of transgenic plant expression vector: a review.
Chinese Journal of Biotechnology 2015;31(3):311-327
Construction of recombinant plasmid vector for gene expression is a key step in making transgenic plants and important to study gene function and plant genetic engineering. A right choice of gene construction method can be cost-effective and achieve more diverse recombinant plasmids. In addition to the traditional methods in construction of plant gene expression vectors, such as Gateway technology, three DNA method and one step cloning, a few novel methods have been developed in recent years. These methods include oligonucleotide synthesis-based construction of small fragment gene expression vectors via competitive connection; construction of small RNA expression vector using pre-microRNA; recombination-fusion PCR method which inserts DNA fragments of multiple restriction sites into the target vector; and insertion of a DNA fragment into any region of a linear vector via In-Fusion Kit. Construction of complex vectors with many fragments uses sequence and ligation-independent cloning method, Gibson isothermal assembly or Golden Gate assembly. This paper summarizes our working experience in the area of recombinant vector construction and reports from others with an intention to disseminate ideas about currently widely used DNA recombination methods for plant transformation.

10.Application of phase image of susceptibility weighted imaging in differential diagnosis of intracerebral paramagnetic and diamagnetic materials
Chinese Journal of Radiology 2009;43(6):590-594
Objective To explore the susceptibility weighted imaging (SWI) appearance of paramagnetic and diamagnetic materials, its imaging theory, and its value of differential diagnosis from their appearance. Methods The diamagnetic and paramagnetic phantom were made and the X-Y axial SWI phase image of phantom then was obtained. Twenty-eight cases of intracerebral calcium and 21 cases of hemorrhage examined with MRI scan and CT scan were retrospectively investigated. The appearance of calcium and hemorrhage on SWI were analyzed and compared with their appearance on CT and conventional MRI. Results Phantom experiment indicated that the equator plane scan of diamagnetic sphere showed high signal in centre surrounded by low signal ring and high signal in two poles of sphere along Z axis of main magnetic field. The paramagnetic sphere appeared the opposite appearance of diamagnetic sphere with centre low signal surrounded by high signal ring in equator plane and low signal in two poles of sphere along Z axis of main magnetic field. The SWI manifestations of 4 cases of intracerebral sphere or sphere-like calcification ( chorioidal calcification) and 9 cases of sphere or sphere-like hemorrhage(2 cases of traumatic hemorrhage, 1 case of hypertension related basal ganglion hemorrhage, 4 cases of metastasis hemorrhage and 2 cases of cavernous hemangioma hemorrhage)were consistent with diamagnetic and paramagnetic sphere phantom respectively. Four cases of calcification in basal ganglion showed the mixed high and low signal. Seven cases of irregular calcification ( neoplastic calcification) aside from basal ganglion appeared complex appearance, though mainly in high signal. Other sphere or sphere-like calcification aside from basal ganglion ( 14 cases of pineal calcification, 4 cases of chorioidal calcification, 2 cases of cerebral cysticercosis calcification and 1 case of neoplastic calcification ) showed markedly high signal. Nine cases of intracerebral iobular hemorrhage (2 cases of hypertension related basal ganglion hemorrhage, 4 cases of unknown casual hemmorrhge and 3 cases of cavernous hemangioma hemorrhage) displayed a multiple concentric circle appearance, other 3 hemorrhage showed complex appearance, though mainly in low signal. Ten cases of calcification had no specific appearance on T1 WI and T2WI. Conclusion Phase image of SWI is helpful in differentiating intracerebral diamagnetic from paramagnetic materials and it has some advantage in detecting calcification over T WI and T2 WI.
