1.Yeast Genetics Revisited
Progress in Biochemistry and Biophysics 2006;0(01):-
With the development of genetics, more and more research has been focused on modal organisms because of the conservative nature of biological species. Saccharomyces cerevisiae is one of the most important model organisms widely used all over the world. Recently, works published in this journal from Tsinghua University revealed a role of YMR166C in mitochondrial magnesium homeostasis in Saccharomyces cerevisiae with transposon-based genetic screen. A genome-wide screening in Saccharomyces cerevisiae for suppressor genes of MTM1 also yielded some very interesting results. Those wonderful works indicated a new era in genetic studies in China.
2.Study on mastery situation of knowledge about infection diseases among primary and middle school students in Chongqing
Chongqing Medicine 2014;(16):2035-2037,2040
Objective To understand the mastery situation of the knowledge about common infectious diseases among the prima-ry and middle school students,in order to provide the evidence for the prevention and treatment of infectious diseases. Methods The stratified random cluster sampling method was adopted. The survey was performed by the questionnaire form. The data were analyzed by the Chi square test, logistic regression model in the SPSS17.00 statistical software. Results Among the primary and middle school students in Chongqing, the students mastering 75% of the basic knowledge about infectious diseases accounted for 24.6% of the total respondents (P<0.01).From the view of the distribution of disease entities, the top six diseases with the awareness rate of less than 60% were hepatitis B,bacterial dysentery, cholera, measles, pinworm and rabies respectively(P<0.01), whose awareness rates are under 60%(P<0.01).As for the level of mastery among different grades, the senior middle school students had a better knowledge of tuberculosis, flu,SARS,AIDS,hepatitis B,poliomyelitis,etc(P<0.01).Comparatively,the pri-mary school students grasped the knowledge of hand-foot-and-mouth disease and pinworm better(P<0.01).Conclusion The pri-mary and middle school students have a low awareness rate of infectious diseases.Pertinently strengthening the popularization of the knowledge about infectious diseases is the powerful measure for reducing the occurrence of infectious diseases and promote the healthy development of students.
3.The value of contrast-enhanced ultrasound guiding normal saline injection in the detection of residual common bile duct stones
Chinese Journal of Ultrasonography 2017;26(6):517-521
Objective To investigate the diagnostic value of contrast-enhanced ultrasound (CEUS) guiding normal saline (NS) injection through endoscopic nasobiliary drainage duct(ENBD) on evaluation for residual stones in common bile duct. Methods Fifty-five patients with bile duct stones were treated by endoscopic retrograde cholangio-pancreatography (ERCP) and duodenoscopic sphincterotomy incision surgery (EST) and ENBD.All patients received normal ultrasonography and CEUS guiding NS injection ultrasonography after EST.The length and width of common bile duct and the detection rate of residual stones before and after NS injection were compared. Results In the 55 patients,1 patient failed in injection of contrast agent into the ENBD.In the other 54 patients, the difference of the length and width of common blie duct before and after NS injection were statistically significant [(2.94±1.76)cm vs (6.09±1.46)cm,(0.58±0.30)cm vs (1.11±0.98)cm](all P<0.001).The full display rate of the common bile duct before and after NS injection were 13.0%(7/54) and 90.7%(49/54),respectively.Before injection, none of common bile duct stones was suspected. After injection,5 cases of common bile duct stones were suspected.Three cases were confirmed by ERCP,1 case was confirmed by operation and 1 case was false positive. Conclusions CEUS of the common bile duct through ENBD performs its patency and course. On this basis the injection of NS increases the display rates of common bile duct, thus improving the detection rate of residual stones.
4.The effects of rosiglitazone on endothelin, nitric oxide and C-reactive protein in patients with impaired glucose tolerance
Chinese Journal of Diabetes 2010;18(1):51-53
Objective To observe the changes in endothelin(ET), nitric oxide(NO) and C-reactive protein(CRP) before and after the rosiglitazone therapy in patients with impaired glucose tolerance(IGT). Methods 72 IGT patients were divided randomly into 2 groups: rosiglitazone group(n=45) and placebo group(n=27). 15 weeks later, the efficacy of rosiglitazone was compared. Results The levels of ET, CRP were decreased and NO increased significantly in rosiglitazone group compared with those before treatment (ET 54.8±10.0 pg/ml vs 72.8±24.3 pg/ml, P<0.01;CRP 4.58±0.38 mg/L vs 5.99± 0.85mg/L, P<0.01 ; NO 41.0±10.0 μmol/L. vs 31.3±9.0 μmol/L, P<0. 01)). However, the levels of ET,CRP and NO in placebo group did not change singnificantly (P>0. 05). Conclusions Rosiglitazone can singnificantly improve ET, NO, CRP level in IGT patients, which means an additional effect of rosiglitazone on the correlation of inflammation and endothelial disturbance.
5.Progress of diagnosis and treatment for aplastic anemia
International Journal of Pediatrics 2010;37(1):56-59
As the techruque of molecular biology developed, the research of aplastic anemia turns to the cytogenetical level. Scientists focused on irwestigating the relationship between the mutation of gene or chromosome and the curative effect of aplastic anemia. The results show that abnormality of particular chrromosome or gene will cause different outcome . On the other hand, the first line therapy of aplastic anemia is still IST or HSCT according to the different situation. The antibody special for T cell is still in studying, and the effect shows well .Through the typing diagnosis consummated, the treating method developed, the survival rate of the patient with apLastic anemia will be advanced.

7.The Xiamen model for community health service
Chinese Journal of General Practitioners 2009;8(7):474-476
In February 2008 the Xiamen Municipal Government reorganized the health service in Xiamen City to create a"Xiamen Model"for community health service. The community health service centers were divided into two parts:the public health service was directly undertaken by the loal government, and the medical service was affiliated to one of the tertiary hospitals. Both were financed by govemment budget, but operated separately.A recent survey showed that the "Xiamen model" promoted the vertical integration of Xiamen medical resources.increased the service efficiency, reduced the medical and drug cost, and improved the satisfaction of local residents.Nevertheless, there were still some problems;the tertiary hospital should change its service pattern and enhance general practice in the community, the finance compensating mechanism need to be improved.

Chinese Journal of Emergency Medicine 2009;18(3):257-261
Objective To investigate the effects of somatostatin(SST)or vasoaetive intestinal peptide (VIP)on the expression of MAdCAM-1 in the intestinal muecosa of rats with multiple organ dysfunction syndrome (MODS)and its significance of prevention and treatment of MODS.Method Thirty six Wistar male rats were randomly divided into 6 groups(6 rats in each group),including control group,VIP group 1 and SST group1 (rats treated with VIP and SST respectively),MODS group(rats with MODS),VIP group 2 and SST group 2(NODS rats treated with VIP and SST respectively). The rat model of MODS(system inflammatory response syndrome,>2 or-gans dysfunction)was established by occlusion of superior mesenteric arteries.0.2 ρmol·g-1 h -11 VIP or SST by intravenous injection combined with 0.25 ρmol/g VIP or SST by intraperitoneal injection were injected into rats.In each group, intestinal lymphocytes from rats labeled with 51 Cr were infused into rat veins and were quantified with γcounter in GALT.The expression of MAdCAM-1 in the intestinal mucosa was measured by western blot.Inflam-mation in the intestinal mucosa was evaluated with histological sections.Student's t test was used to assess differ-ence between the experiment group and the control group. Results In VIP group l and SST group 1,the peak values of MAdCAM-1 expression in diffusive lymphatic tissue of small intestinal were 157.67±2.52 and 154.33±3.22.and those in Peyer patches were 136.00±1.00 and 137.00±1.00.There were no significant difference when compared with control group(165.33±1.53,152.67±2.31,P>0.05).The percentage of 51 Cr-lympho-cytes in diffusive lymphatic tissue of small intestine(1.04%±0.59%,1.01%±0.83%)showed no significant difference from control group(1.07%±0.61%,P>0.05),and those in Peyer patches(1.83%±0.90%,1.56%±0.64%)were significantly less than control group(3.85%±2.02%,P<0.05).In VIP group 2 and SST group 2,the peak values of MAdCAM-1 expression in diffusive lymphatic tissue of small intestinal(158.00±2.65,154.33±1.53)and Peyer patches(156.33±1.53.151.33±2.31)were significantly less than MODS group(175.33±2.52,173.00±2.65,P<0.05).The percentage of 51 Cr-lymphocytes in diffusive lymphafic tissue of small intestine(1.58%±0.42%,1.45%±0.26%)and Peyer patches(2.14%±1.49%,0.81%±0.35%)were significantly less than MODS group(3.23%±1.69%,5.04%±1.23%,P<0.05)and the se-vere histopathological danlage in intestine was relieved. Conclusions VIP or SST reduced intestinal lymphoeytes homing to GALT in rats with MODS through suppressing the expression of MAdCAM-1,and attenuated the inflam-matory injure in the intestinal mucosa.
9.Discussion on Chinese medicine in treating post-infectious irritable bowel syndrome
China Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Pharmacy 2005;0(04):-
The pathogenesis of post- infectious irritable bowel syndrome(PI-IBS)involves abnormal intestinal immune barrier, which possibly includes the pathological aspects: Intestinal and systemic changes in T lymphocyte; the change of inflammatory cytokines; a increase in intestinal mast cells and enterochromaffin cells and so on. Treatment by western medicine based largely on symptomatic treatment. TCM thinks that the fundamental organ of the irritable bowel syndrome is the liver. Emotional factors inducing liver dysfunction lead to the symptoms of irritable bowel syndrome. The pathogenesis of IBS is, the disorder of movement of qi in liver and spleen. Stagnation of liver-QI with deficiency of the spleen or disharmony between liver and spleen is the key pathogenesis of post-infectious irritable bowel syndrome. On this basis, in various stages of the disease, there may be a different pathogenesis. As a special type of IBS, the balance of vital qi and evil factors determine the disease progression of PI-IBS, in the treatment course also should not forget dispelling pathogenic factors while strengthening body resistance, tonifying deficiency and removing dampness。
