Objective To compare the efficacy of video-assisted thoracoscopy plus minithoracotomy(VAMT) and limited axillary thoracotomy(LAT) for the treatment of lung cancer.Methods 85 consecutive lung cancer patients were treated by either VAMT or LAT.The operative time,blood loss during operation,postoperative chest drainage time,and hospital stay time and postoperative complication were compared between the two groups.Results There was no death in two groups.The operative time and blood loss during operation were significant less in VAMT than inLAT(t =6.514,2.413,all P ＜0.05).But postoperative chest drainage time,and hospital stay time and postoperative complication were no significant difference between the two groups (t =0.490,0.338,all P ＞ 0.05).Conclusion VAMT is a safe and less traumatic procedure in the treatment of lung cancer,which is worthy of promotion and application.

Merely having complete sequences of genomes is not sufficient to elucidate biological function. Proteomics is complementary to genomics because it focuses on the large scared gene products, which are the active agents in cells. As almost all the drugs are directed against proteins, proteomics have been widely used in pharmacological research.Proteomics profiling in drug target identification, toxicological and drug resistances research was reviewed.

Objective To investigate the spontaneous neoplastic lesions and their incidences in rats .Methods Sixty male and 60 female specific pathogen-free Wistar rats (4-weeks old ) were used in this study .The rats were acclima-ted for 1 week prior to initiation of the experiment .They were fed with conventional feed for 104 weeks and then sacrificed for histopathological examination .Results Various neoplastic lesions of the rats and their incidences were analyzed and reported.For male rats, their total tumor incidence was 49.12%, the benign tumor incidence was 38.60%and the malig-nant tumor incidence was 17.54%.The benign neoplastic lesions mainly were pituitary adenoma ( 19.30%) , testis Leydig cell tumor (5.26%) and subcutaneous fibroma (5.26%).The malignant neoplastic lesions mainly were squamous cell carcinoma (7.02%) and lymphoid hematopoietic system tumors (3.51%).For female rats, their total tumor inci-dence was 60.34%, the benign tumor incidence was 50.00%and the malignant tumor incidence was 15.52%.The benign neoplastic lesions mainly were breast fibroadenoma (25.86%) and pituitary adenoma (24.14%).The malignant neoplas-tic lesions mainly were adenocarcinoma (5.17%) and breast cancer (3.45%).Conclusions The spontaneous neoplastic lesions and their incidences reported in this paper provide another data of the spontaneous tumors of SPF Wistar rats and may provide some reference for relevant technical staffs .

Objective To investigate the clinical value of serum tumor makers CA15-3,19 fragments of cellular keratin antigen(CYFRA21-1)combined with the color Doppler ultrasound and mammography X-ray in diagnosis of early breast cancer.Methods According to the postoperative pathologic diagnosis,collected 106 cases of patients with breast cancer (breast cancer group) and 50 cases of patients with benign breast lesions (control group),the serum tumor makers CA15-3,CYFRA21-1,the color Doppler ultrasound and mammography X-ray were compared with postoperative pathology and statistical analyzed retrospectively.Results The sensitivity of CA15-3 was 63.2%(67/106),specificity was 94.O% (47/50);the sensitivity of CYFRA21-1 was 73.6%(78/106),specificity was 88.0%(44/50);the sensitivity of color Doppler ultrasound was 77.4%(82/106),specificity was 90.0%(45/50);the sensitivity of mammography X-ray was 75.5%(80/106),specificity was 92.0%(46/50);the sensitivity of the four combined detections was 96.2%(102/106),specificity was 80.0%(40/50).The sensitivity of combined detection was higher than any of them individually,there was statistical significance (P<0.05).Conclusions Combined diagnosis is an effective way of early breast cancer detection.It has high positive rate of diagnosis and reliable guidance significance for diagnosis and treatment.

Objective:To improve the quality standard for Kangshiming mixtures. Methods:The identification of Angelicae Sinen-sis Radix, Astragali Radix and Phellodendri Chinensis Cortex was carried out by TLC. The contents of puerarin and paeoniflorin in the preparations were determined by HPLC. Results:The spots displayed in TLC were clear without interference from the negative control. The linear range for puerarin was 1. 64-49. 20μg·ml-1(r=0. 999 9) and 4. 22-63. 30μg·ml-1(r=0. 999 6) for paeoniflorin. The average recovery was 99. 63%(RSD=2. 14%,n=9) and 99. 05%(RSD=2. 70%,n=9) for puerarin and paeoniflorin, respectively. Conclusion:The method is accurate, reliable and specific, and can be used in the quality control of Kangshiming mixtures.

Objective To explore the clinical value of prenatal ultrasonographic diagnosis of fetal pulmonary atresia.Methods The data of echocardiography in 7 fetus with pulmonary atresia confirmed by autopsy were analysed retrospectively,the characteristics of abnormal ultrasound imaging were summarized.Results The dysplastic main pulmonary had been detected only in one fetus by two-dimensional echocardiography,five cases were shown ventricular septal defect with straddle of aortic root on the ventricular septum,two cases with intact ventricular septum had hypoplasis of right heart.Color Doppler flow imaging showed the reverse flow of ductus arteriosus in 5 cases and tricuspid regurgitation in 3 cases.Five cases were diagnosed pulmonary atresia,one case was hypoplasia of right heart,and one case was mistaken for persistent truncus arteriosus.Conclusions Prenatal ultrasonographic diagnosis of tetal pulmonary atresia has great clinical value,the reverse flow of ductus arteriosus is an important clue to diagnosis.

Objective To explore the clinical value of diffusion weighted imaging (DWI) in the diagnosis of breast disease ,and compared with ultrasound and mammography .Methods The clinical data of 28 patients who were pathologically confirmed with breast cancer were retrospectively reviewed .The diagnostic accuracy of DWI ,mammogra-phy and ultrasound , the surface diffusion coefficients ( ADC value ) were statistically analyzed .Results ( 1 ) DWI scan:the diagnostic accuracy of malignant tumor was 90.9%(20/22),the ADC value of malignant tumor was (0.955 ±0.199) ×10 -3mm2/s;the diagnostic accuracy of benign lesions was 83.3%(5/6),the average ADC value of benign lesions was (1.660 ±0.339) ×10 -3 mm2/s,there were statistically significant differences ( t=2.371,P<0.05).(2)Mammography:the diagnostic accuracy of malignant tumor was 81.8%(18/22),the diagnostic accuracy of benign lesions was 33.3%(2/6).(3) Ultrasound:the diagnostic accuracy of malignant tumor was 86.4%(19/22),the diagnostic accuracy of benign lesions was 50.0%(3/6).The diagnostic accuracy of malignant tumor had no significant difference among three techniques (χ2 =0.752,P>0.05),but for the diagnostic accuracy of benign lesions,DWI was better than ultrasound and mammography ,the difference was statistically significant (χ2 =6.146, P<0.05).Conclusion For the diagnosis of malignant breast tumors and benign lesions ,DWI is better than ultra-sound and mammography ,which has high clinical application value .

Objective To discuss about the relationship between the occurrence of the uterine cervix cancer and the risk factors.MethodsAmong the patients we collected,92 patients were diagnosed to have the cervical cancer,63 patients were diagnosed as CINⅢ (the cervical intraepithelial neoplasia,CIN),and 252 patients belonged to the control group.All patients had not been cured before.We used the questionnaire to investigate them about the dietary habit and other information.Through using different statistical Methods ,we explored the relationship between the cervical cancer and the potential factors.ResultsWe found out that many factors contributed to the happening of the cervical cancer,such as gynecopathy(χ2=19.31,P＜0.01),the first time of the menses(F＝11.62,P＜0.01),the first time of the sex life(F＝25.76,P＜0.01),the first time of the parturition (F＝28.02,P＜0.01),the times of the pregnancy and the parturition(F1＝13.98,P1＜0.01;F2＝4.78,P2＜0.01),the culture degree(χ2＝10.70,P＜0.05),the infection of HPV(χ2＝179.95,P＜0.01),the level of the folic acid (F＝3.39,P＜0.05) and so on.The result of the logistic regression analysis showed that keeping the habit of drinking tea(OR＝0.321,β＝-1.136,P＜0.05),paying attention to the sanitation of the sex life(OR＝0.387,β＝-0.950,P＜0.05),putting off the first time of the sex life(OR＝0.551,β＝-0.596,P＜0.05),and the higher level of the folic acid (OR＝0.502,β＝-0.688,P＜0.05) were the protective factors tothe occurrence of the uterine cervix cancer.Meanwhile,the infection of the HPV(OR＝27.215,β＝3.304,P＜0.01),many times of the parturition(OR＝1.846,β＝0.613,P＜0.05) and the passive smoking (OR＝1.673,β＝0.515,P＜0.05) were the risk factors.ConclusionsWith the higher level of the folic acid,the less possibility you will get the cervical cancer.There exists many measures to prevent the happening of the cervical cancer,like keeping the healthy sex life,keeping far away from the passive smoking,not to give birth too early or too many and preventing being infected the HPV.What's more,having the good habit of drinking tea and paying attention to the supplement of the folic acid and Vitamin B12 may be the effective method to prevent the occurrence of the cervical cancer.

ObjectiveTo discuss the feasibility of the method that can be used to induce the model of type 2 diabetic mellitus rat and explore the characteristic of the nephropathy.The rats were fed with the high sucrose,high fat and high energy feed for a long time and then it was injected with the low dose STZ.Methods30 SD rats were selected and then it was randomly divided them into 2 groups,the control group (10 rats) and the model group (20 rats).The model group was fed with the high calorie feed forl0 weeks to induce insulin resistance and then the rats were induced to type 2 diabetes mellitus by injection of streptozocin (30 mg/kg).The rats of the model group were continually fed with the high calorie feed for 2 months.Before the end of this study,the 24-hours microalbuminuria,serum creatinine and blood urea nitrogen were detected and the periodic acid Schiff staining on the kidney were also measured.ResultsAfter the rats of the model group were established,the levels of the bodyweight,the cholesterol,the triglyceride and the insulin were [ (468.7 ± 8.8 ) g,( 1.92 ± 0.27 ) mmol/L,( 1.32 ± 0.34) mmol/L,(38.81 ± 5.39 ) mU/L ] respectively,all of them were higher than the levels in the normal group,which were [ (436.9 ± 7.4) g,(1.16 ±0.17)mmol/L,(0.8 ±0.18)mmo1/L,(21.43 ±4.19)mU/L],respectively( t =9.755,8.077,4.437,8.902,P ＜ 0.01 ).After injection of STZ for 2 weeks,the levels of the blood glucose,the insulin and the insulin resistance of the diabetes mellitus rats were [ ( 19.31 ± 1.55 ) mmol/L,( 31.31 ± 8.60) mU/L,(26.55 ± 6.33) ] respectively,it was higher than levels inf the normal group,which was[ (5.45 ±0.69) mmol/L,( 19.97 ± 3.26) mU/L,(4.82 ± 0.84) ] ( t =26.383,3.951,10.719,P ＜ 0.01 ).Before the end of this study,the levels of the blood glucose,insulin resistance,24-hours microalbuminuria,serum creatinine,blood urea nitrogen of the diabetes mellitus rats were [ ( 19.27 ± 1.97 ) mmol/L,( 16.70 ±7.51 ),(72.49 ± 8.53 ) mg/24 h,( 74.76 ± 8.38 ) μmol/L,( 19.09 ± 4.21 ) mmol/L],it was higher than the levels in the normal group,which were [ (5.62 ±0.65) mmol/L,(5.45 ± 1、33),( 15.26 ±2.20) mg/24 h,(40.81 ± 1.97) μmol/L,(9.87 ±2.13) mmol/L,t =20.961,4.657,20.623,12.495,6.352,P ＜0.01 ].And the pathological changes of the diabetes mellitus rats kidney tissues were the most serious through themethod of periodic acid-Schiff's staining (PAS).ConclusionsThe model of type 2 diabetic mellitus rat was constructed through the way of feeding the SD rats with high sucrose,high fat and high energy feed for a long time and low dose STZ.The diabetic mellitus rats had the symptom of drinking more,eating more and diuresis,and the character of this model had high levels of albuminuria,serum creatinine,blood urea nitrogen.The incrassated glomerular mesangium,the crescent-shaped focus and the glomerulosclerosis were also observed through the PAS.

Objective To investigate the protective effects of midazolam on noise-induced hearing loss in guinea pigs by testing reactive oxygen species (ROS) level in the cochlea and plasma SOD and MDA. Methods Totally forty male pigmented guinea pigs were randomly divided into four groups: control (C) , midazolam (M), normal saline (S) and noise-induced deafened (D) groups, with ten guinea pigs in each. Groups M, S and D were exposed to a continuous noise (4kHz , octave band, 100dB SPL) 3h every day for 3 consecutive days. Group M was treated with midazolam, which was administered intramuscularly (0.1mg/kg) 24h before noise exposure, and immediately upon and during noise exposure. Group S was exposed to noise and treated with the same volume of normal saline intramuscularly, the time of injection was the same as that of Group M. Group C was not exposed to noise, but was treated with midazolam intramuscularly, the time of injection and the dosage were the same as those of Group M. Group S was exposed to noise and treated with normal saline intramuscularly ,the time of injection was same with that of Group M.Group D was exposed to noise only. All animals received auditory brainstem response (ABR) threshold recording before and immediately after noise exposure. Blood was collected when the guinea pigs were killed after the last ABR threshold recording, and serum SOD activity and MDA content were detected. Both the cochleae were removed and prepared for ROS assay. Results After noise exposure, ABR threshold shift (1.6±1.5) and ROS content [(291.10±2.30)u/mL] in Group M were significantly lower than those in Groups S and D [41.7±3.3, 44.3±3.9; (348.52±3.60)u/mL, (315.56±6.70)u/mL, P<0.05]. Serum SOD activity and MDA content were significantly increased in Group M, but the amplitude was less than that in Groups S and D.Conclusion Midazolam can prevent noise-induced hearing loss by reducing the increased ROS level in the cochlea after noise exposure.
