Objective To compare the cognitive function of children with behavior problems and normal children. Methods 87 children with behavior problems were choosed as study group,according to Rutter' s Children Behaviour Qestionnaire. And 87 normal children were choosed randomly as normal control. Chinese Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children (C-WISC) ,Clinical Memory Scale (CMS) ,Number Cancellation Test (NCT) and the Forth Exceptional Test (FET) were adopted to assess the cognitive function of children in two groups. Results Compared with normal control, arithmetic scale ( ( 10.40 ± 3.02 ) vs ( 12. 13 ± 3.26 ) ), verbal IQ ( ( 121.55 ±12.54) vs ( 129.40 ± 13.98) ), object assembly scale ( ( 9.98 ± 2.79 ) vs ( 11.70 ± 2.78 ) ), performance IQ((97.40±10.84) vs ( 103.93 ±14.22)),full IQ ((112.28±11.14) vs (119.03 ± 12.57)),verbal comprehension IQ ( ( 110.48 ± 11.23 ) vs ( 115.80 ± 12.31 ) ), memory/concentration IQ ( ( 101.25 ± 11.66 ) vs ( 109.40 ± 15.45 ) ),the net scale ( (67.05 ± 33.85 ) vs ( 88.72 ± 22.51 ) ) and error rate( ( 32.27 ± 35.77 ) %vs ( 15.41 ± 10.35 ) % ) were lower in children with behavior problems ( all P < 0.05 ). In study group, the total scale of Rutter' s Children Behaviour Qestionnaire was negatively correlated with memory/concentration IQ, and with net scale(r = - 0. 335, - 0. 367, P < 0.05 );but it was positively correlated with error rate (r = 0. 333, P < 0.05 ). Conclusion Cognitive defects may exist in children with behavior problems.

Aim To investigate radioprotective effects of platelet factor 4 (PF4) on hemopoiesis of mice after γ -ray irradiation and their mechanisms. Methods The mice were injected with PF4 twice at 6h intervals; and 20 h after the second injection they were given one irradiation of 7.5Gy 60Co γ -ray. 8d later the colony forming unit of granulocyte-macrophage (CFU-GM), colony forming of unit spleen (FU-S), number and DNA contents in bone marrow cells (BMCs) were examined by flow cytometry. Results 8d after irradiation, a significant difference was shown between DNA contents in BMCs and cell cycles of the PF4-injected mice and those of the irradiated mice (P∨ 0.01), whereas little difference was found between those of the irradiated mice and the controls (P∧ 0.05). Conclusion PF4 can obviously protect hemopoietic stem cells (HSCs) of mice from radiation injury and promote proliferation of HSCs after radiation.

This study aimed to analyse the genetically characterize isolates of Echovirus 11 from Longyan City,Fujian Province, and to reveal their genetic relationships with other isolates from China and abroad. Cerebrospinal fluid specimens from patients diagnosed with viral encephalitis or central nervous system (CNS) infections were collected from Longyan First Hospital between January and December 2011. Seven Echo11 strains were isolated and identified using the RIMV serum panel. The entire VP1 coding regions of four strains were sequenced and typed as Echo11 by an online blast program and, subsequently, phylogenet- ic analyses of the VP1 sequences of these stains and others published on GenBank were conducted. There were 600 nucleotides (nt) in each complete VP1 coding region that encoded 200 amino acids (aa). Among those four Echo11 strains, the sequence identities of nt and aa were 100% and 99%-100% respectively. And phylogenetic analyses indicate belong to subtype DS, the homology compared with DS strain (GU393713) were 93% (nt) and 99% (aa). The sequence identities for the nt and aa were 75%-76% and 90%, respectively, between the current isolates from Longyan and the Gregory prototype strain found in 1953. The sequence identity of nt and aa between the Longyan virus strains and the domestic Shandong strains isolated in 2010 were lower, at 74% and 88%-89%, respectively. However, the highest level of ho- mology was found when the Longyan strains were compared with the Netherlands strain (GU393773) found in 2007 (nt and aa identity: 94%-95% and 98%-99%, respectively). The relatively low levels of similarity between domestic isolates suggest that different transmission routes exist for Echo11 in mainland China.

Chinese Journal of Microbiology and Immunology 2016;36(5):328-332
Objective To analyze the genetic characteristics of echovirus type 25( Echo25) strains isolated from patients with viral encephalitis in Longyan city. Methods Cerebrospinal fluid(CSF) specimens were collected from hospitalized patients with viral encephalitis or central nervous system infection in Longyan,2012. Enteroviruses(EV)were isolated from the specimens and then identified. Four strains of Echo25 were screened out by using serum neutralization test. Coding sequence of the VP1 region of the 4 Echo25 strains were amplified by RT-PCR and then sequenced. A phylogenetic tree was constructed to ana-lyze the nucleotide sequence homology between those sequences and the sequences of reference Echo25 strains available in the GenBank database. Results The VP1 nucleotide sequences of Echo25 strains isola-ted in Longyan were 498 bp in length, encoding 166 amino acid residues. The homology analysis showed that the VP1 nucleotide sequences of 3 strains were identical, sharing 97% homology in nucleotide with the rest strain. The Echo25 strains isolated in Longyan were highly similar to KJ957190( Beijing,2010)and HM031189(Henan,2008)strains. Phylogenetic analysis revealed that the Echo25 strains isolated in Longyan belonged to genotype B1. Conclusion Echo25 was one of the pathogens causing viral encephalitis in Longyan in 2012 and different transmission chains of Echo25 had emerged. This study indicates that it is necessary to strengthen the surveillance for EV and understand the genetic variation of the Echo25 for provi-ding better supportive evidences for the prevention and control of related diseases.

Objective To compare short-term therapeutic outcomes and the safety of percutane-ous radiofrequency ablation (PRFA) with left single lung ventilation (LSLV) for liver cancer of the hepatic dome (LCHD) and that of PRFA for right liver carcinoma in favorable location. Methods Thirty one patients with hepatocellular carcinoma (belonging to LCHD) receiving PRFA with LSLV (Group LCHD) between January 2006 and January 2009 in our hospital were selected, and 45 control patients with right lobe HCC ≥1 cm away from the liver capsule, gallbladder, and main portal bran-ches were also included. One month after PRFA, residual tumors were followed up with contrast en-hanced CT and alpha fetal protein and PRFA was repeated in the presence of residual foci. Tumor-free survival time was defined as the duration from complete ablation to diagnosed local tumor progression. The Mann-Whitney test was used to compare age, tumor diameter, and average number of punctures between LCHD patients and controls. A χ2 test was used for comparison of the incidence of complica-tions and incomplete tumor ablation rate. The Kaplan-Meier's method was used for calculation of local tumor-free survival rate compared with a log-rank test. Results The incidence of right shoulder pain was significantly higher in LCHD patients than in controls (87. 1% vs 11. 1%, P<0. 01). LCHD pa-tients showed no difference from controls in the average number of punctures (2. 8±. 5 vs 3. 2±. 5,P>0. 05). Meanwhile, there was no difference between the 2 groups in average duration of treatment and hospitalization, and the complete tumor ablation rate at first PRFA. No differences were observed in the 1-, 2- and 3-year local tumor-free survival rates between LCHD patients (85. 5% , 65. 8% , and 36. 4% ,respectively) and controls (87.7%, 62. 3% , and 34.0% , respectively). Conclusion PRFA with LSLV for LCHD seems to promise comparable short-term outcomes and safety to PRFA for right liver carcinoma of fa-vorable location and should be preferred as one of the therapeutic options for LCHD patients with tumor di-ameters≤5 cm regardless of its unique location.
