Abstract: Construction of a successful near infrared analysis model is a complex task. It spends a lot of manpower and material resources, and is restricted by sample collection and model optimization. So it is important to study on the extended application of the existing near infrared (NIR) models. In this paper, cephradine capsules universal quantitative model was used as an example to study on the feasibility of its extended application. Slope/bias correction and piecewise direct standardization correction methods were used to make the universal model to fit to predict the intermediates in manufacturing processes of cephradine capsules, such as the content of powder blend or granules. The results showed that the corrected NIR universal quantitative model can be used for process control although the results of the model correction by slope/bias or piecewise direct standardization were not as good as that of model updating. And it also indicated that the model corrected by slope/bias is better than that by piecewise direct standardization. Model correction provided a new application for NIR universal models in process control.

Objective To know about the influences of KTH integrated intervention on the blood pressure and quality of life of elderly patients with essential hypertension so as to explore the effective model of health education suitable for them. Methods 120 elderly hypertensive patients recruited from the community in Hengyang city were randomly divided into the experimental group and the control group, each group had 60 patients. The experimental group accepted KTH integrated intervention weekly, and control group was accepted routine hypertension education monthly. The blood pressure was taken before, during and after intervention. Meantime the quality of life was surveyed with WHOQOL- 100 questionnaires before and after the intervention. Results The systolic pressure and diastolic pressure in the experimental group were more lower than those before intervention and those of the control group after intervention. The hypertension of the experimental group was more stable as the time passed. There were distinguished differences between two groups in the quality of life, physical, psychological, social relationships, environmental and spirituality domain. However, there was no distinguished differences between two groups in the domain of independence. Conclusions KTH integrated intervention can make elderly hypertensive patients to keep blood pressure stable and improve their quality of life.

PurposeAdrenal schwannoma is rare and quite difficult to diagnose before operation. This paper aims to analyze the CT findings of adrenal schwannoma to improve the recognition and diagnosis of this disease.Materials and Methods The CT findings of 6 patients with adrenal schwannomas proved by operation and pathology were retrospectively analyzed. Results Four schwannomas were located in the right adrenal and 2 in the left adrenal. The tumors, with diameters ranging from 3.0 cm to 6.4 cm, mean (4.5±1.3) cm, had well-defined margin. The densities of all the masses were close to or slightly lower than those of kidneys on plain scan images, with mean CT attenuation value of (32±7) HU. Three masses showed homogeneous density and the other 3 were mildly heterogeneous with patches of lower density. All the 6 schwannomas were enhanced mildly or moderately after intravenous administration of contrast material and showed gradual enhancement mode. They showed mild homogeneous or flocculent enhancement on arterial phase and had gradual progress on venous and delayed phases. The mean increase of CT attenuation value was (13±2) HU on arterial phase, (18±4) HU on venous phase and (23±4) HU on delayed phase. Only 1 mass showed some patches of cystic degeneration without enhancement inside. Conclusion Adrenal schwannoma should be included in the differential diagnosis of solid nonfunctioning adrenal tumors. Features such as relatively homogeneous mass, mild to moderate enhancement and gradual enhancement mode after contrast enhancement are possibly the unique CT manifestations of adrenal schwannoma.

Objective To analyze the differences with the expression of glucocorticoids receptor isoforms ( GRα, GRβ, GRγand GR-P ) and cytokines [ IL-6, macrophage migration inhibitory factor (MIF), IFN-γand IL-10] between patients with systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) and rheumatoid ar-thritis ( RA) , and to further understand their correlations with disease activities. Methods Fifty-five pa-tients with SLE, forty-nine patients with RA and thirty-eight healthy subjects were recruited in this study. All patients were steroid-naive.The expression of GRα, GRβ, GRγ, and GR-P in peripheral blood mononu-clear cells at transcript levels were determined by real-time PCR.Enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay was used to detect the expression of IL-6, MIF, IFN-γand IL-10 in serum samples. Results The percentages of GRαin all subjects were the highest among four isoforms of GR, followed by GR-P, GRγand GRβ.Com-pared with healthy subjects, patients with SLE or RA showed significantly decreased expression of GRα( P<0.05), but increased expression of GR-P (P<0.05).The percentages of GR-P in patients with RA were higher than those in patients with SLE (P<0.05).The expression of GRαwas negatively correlated with SLE disease activity index (SLEDAI) and disease activity score 28 (DAS28).SLE or RA patients with high disease activity showed lower expression of GRαthan those with low disease activity. The levels of IL-6, IFN-γand MIF in patients with SLE or RA were significantly higher than those in healthy subjects ( P<0.05).A negative correlation was observed between the expression of IL-6 and GRαin patients with SLE (P<0.05).The expression of IFN-γwas negatively correlated with GRαin patients with RA (P<0.05). Conclusion There were significant differences with the expression of GR isoforms among patients with SLE, patients with RA and healthy subjects, indicating the change of internal environment in patients might be in-volved in GR alternative splicing.GRαwas the predominant isoform and was negatively correlated with dis-ease activities.Oversecretion of cytokines resulted in a decreased expression of GRα.This study would be useful for the diagnosis of the disease status and for monitoring clinical treatment.

This study was aimed to explore the mechanism of electroacupuncture (EA) on improvement of Parkinson’s disease (PD). A total of 40 SD male rats were randomly divided into 4 groups, which were the normal group, sham-operation group, model group, and EA group (n=10). The 6-hydroxydopamine (6-OHDA) was used to prepare PD rat rotational model. The 0.2% Vitamin C of physiological saline was injected in the sham-operation group. EA on GV16-Fengfuand LR3-Taichongwas given for 30 min in the EA group after the model was successfully established, once a day, 7 days a treatment course. The treatment was given for 2 courses. Behavioral test was used to detect PD rat rotational behavior changes. Glu concentration in the striatum was detected by HPLC assay. The expression levels of GS and PAG were detected with western blot. The results showed that there were significant differences in the rotational behavior before and after treatment in the EA group (P < 0.01). Compared with the normal group and sham-operation group, Glu concentration significantly increased, GS expression obviously decreased, and PAG expression significantly increased in the model group (P < 0.01). Compared with the model group, Glu concentration obviously decreased (P < 0.05), GS expression significantly increased, and PAG significantly decreased in the EA group (P < 0.01). It was concluded that the protective effect of EA in PD may be associated with EA improving the expression of GS, reducing the expression of PAG, and relieving the cytotoxicity induced by Glu in the brain.

OBJECTIVETo explore action mechanism of electroacupuncture (EA) on treatment of Parkinson's disease (PD).
METHODSA total of 40 healthy male SD rats were randomly divided into a normal group, a sham operation group, a model group and an EA group, 10 rats in each group. PD rat model was duplicated by micro injection of 6-hydroxyl dopamine into right striatum of rats, and the rats in the sham operation group were treated with micro injection of 0. 9% NaCl. Rats in the normal group, model group and the sham operation group received no treatment; rats in the EA group were treated by EA at "Fengfu" (GV 16) and "Taichong" (LR 3) with continuous wave, 2 Hz in frequency, 1 mA in intensity for 30 min. The treatment was given once a day for total 2 weeks. Behavioral test was used to evaluate rotational behavior changes of PD rats. RT-PCR method was applied to detect the expression of GFAP (glial fiber acidic protein) mRNA and Cx43 (connexin 43) mRNA in the striatum.
RESULTSThe difference of rotational behavior was not significant before and after treatment in the model group (P>0. 05), while that in the EA group was significant (P<0. 01). The expression of GFAP mRNA and Cx43 mRNA in the model group was significantly higher than that in the normal group and sham operation group (all P<0. 01); after EA treatment, the expression of GFAP mRNA and Cx43 mRNA in the EA group was lower significantly than that in the model group (both P<0. 01).
CONCLUSIONThe action mechanism of EA for prevention and treatment of Parkinson' s disease may be associated with inhibiting the activation of astrocytes.
