1.Radiological and clinicopathological analysis of benign fibrous histiocytoma of bone

Objective To explore the imaging radiological and clinicopathological characteristics of benign fibrous histiocytoma (BFH) of bone, in order to improve the imaging diagnostic accuracy of the disease Methods Radiological and clinical data of 16 patients with BFH confirmedbypathology were retrospectively analyzed , and relevant literatures were reviewed. Results The X-ray findings of 14 BFHpatients were osteolytic lesion , expansive destruction of bone,without soft tissue involvement, 10 with residual apophysis,9 with osteosclerosis marginal; CT was performed on 2 patients. Expansive destruction of bone and soft tissue densities were seen inside the loops , 1 case remarkable enhancement of the lesion. MRI was performed on 9 patients and 5 cases showed long T1 and T2 signal intensity; 1case showed equal T1 and long T2 signal intensity in cystic part and equal T1 and T2 signal intensity in the solid part. One patient had pathological fracture, and the surrounding soft tissue invaded, showing equal T1 and long T2 signal intensity. Two lesions located at spinous process of cervical vertebra , showing long T1 short T2 and equal T1 and T2 signal intensity. Linear low signal separation shadow in T1 and T2 could be seen in 6 cases. Long T1 and short T2 sclerotic ring were seen in 4 cases. Solid part of tumor and linear separator were obviously enhanced. Conclusions The radiological findings of benign fibrous histioeytoma of bone indicate some characteristics. The combination with X-ray , CT and MRI examination is helpful to improve the diagnostic accuracy of the disease before operation.
2.Analysis on preventive use of antibacterial agents in a tumor hospital from 2011 to 2013

Objective To understand the prophylactic use of antimicrobial agents in the patients undergoing I incision surgery from 2011 to 2013 in a tumor hospital,to explore the the effects of intervention management measure for antibacterial agents using in the perioperative period.Methods The cases of tumor surgical patients of 2011-2013 were selected and divided into the three intervention groups and non-intervention group.The data of medication after three-stage continuous integrated intervention were collected and compared.Results The percentage of antibiotics use was much lower,from 61.73%pre-intervention to 47.03%,26.78%and 24.85%after three stage intervention. The course of preventive medication treatment was significantly decreased from 81h to 53h,33h,21h,respeetively.The reasons of their rationally utilizing antibiotics were significantly improved after intervention management.Conclusion Rational antibiotics utilization can be improved by intervention management during perioperative period of typeⅠinci-sion operations,which can achieve the goal of health department.
3.Effects of amino acid on growth and secondary metabolites contents of adventitious roots of Tripterygium wilfordii.

The adventitious root of Tripterygium wilfordii was used as experiment material to study effects of various concentration of aspartic acid, isoleucine, cysteine and arginine in MS medium on the growth and triptolide, wilforgine, wilforine contents of the adventitious roots. The results showed that compared with the control, supplemented with 0.25 mmol x L(-1) aspartic acid at 3rd week, the growth of the adventitious roots only accounted for 80%, but the content of triptolide of the adventitious roots and the medium was 1.36, 1.30 times, the content of wilforgine was 1.16, 1.37 times, the content of wilforine was 1.22, 1.63 times, respectively. At 3rd week 0.05 mmol x L(-1) isoleucine, the growth of adventitious roots was 97.3%, wilforgine of adventitious roots and medium 1.02, 1.27 times, wilforine 1.36 times and 1.15 times. At 1st week 0.25 mmol x L(-1) cysteine, the growth of the adventitious roots comprised 77.5% of the control, while content of triptolide of adventitious roots reached 1.87 times. At 2nd week 1.00 mmol x L(-1) cysteine, the growth of adventitious roots was 44.6% of the control, the content of wilforine in medium was 2.97 times. At 3rd week 0.50 mmol x L(-1) arginine, the growth of adventitious roots was 124.2%, the content of wilforgine and wilforine was 1.3, 1.4 times, respectively.

4.Topical tacalcitol and MEL308 nm:a synergistic combination for the treatment of vitiligo

Objective To study the efficacy and safety of tacalcitol combined with monochromatic excimer light (MEL) 308 nm vs MEL 308 nm monotherapy in treating vitiligo.Methods Thirty-eight pa- tients with vitiligo were enrolled in the single-blind clinical trial,using plabebo-treated lesions in the same patient as controls.Contralateral or nearby lesions were randomly selected to be treated by either tacalcitol or placebo.All lesions were treated weekly with MEL 308 nm,for a total of 12 sessions.Patients were ex- amined at monthly intervals.The mean number of sessions and the cumulative dosage for initial and excel- lent repigrnentation were calculated.Results Thirty-five patients were evaluated.The mean?SEM cumu- lative dose and number of MEL exposures for initial repigmentation,respectively,were 4.27?3.59 J/cm~2 and 4.89?3.16 on tacalcitol-treated site,5.36?4.12 J/cm~2 and 5.69?3.29 on placebo-treated site,re- spectively (both P<0.05).For excellent repigrnentation,the cumulative dose and number of exposures were 7.72?5.64 J/cm~2 and 7.79?4.70 respectively on tacalcitol-treated site,and 8.18?4.87 J/cm~2 and 8.4?3.92 respectively on placebo-treated site (both P>0.05).Treatment with tacalcitol resulted in a sig- nificantly higher percentage (71.4% vs 54.3%) of repigmentation than that with placebo.Conclusions Our results show that MEL 308 nm is safe and effective for the treatment of vitiligo.Additionally,concur- rent topical tacalcitol potentiates the efficacy of MEL 308 nm in the treatment of vitiligo;this combination achieves more rapid pigmentation with a lower total MEL dosage.

Background Many kindof cells,cytokineand extracellulamatrix components,such aconnective tissue growth facto(CTGF) and fibronectin (FN),can regulate and controll the formation and developmenof epiretinal membrane.Iiimportanto investigate the morphology and pathology of epiretinal membrane fothe prevention of relevanretinopathies.Objective Thistudy wato investigate the expression of CTGF and FN in differentypeand stageof epiretinal membranes.MethodEpiretinal membranewere collected during vitrectomy and silicon oil removal surgery from 24 eyeof 24 casewith rhegmatogenouretinal detachment(RRD) (including 14 eyewith courses<90 dayand 10 eyewith course≥ 90 days),20 eyeof 20 casewith diabetiretinopathy (DR)associated with vitreouhemorrhage and tractional RD (course≥ 90 days)and 7 eyeof 7 casewith silicon oil tamponade (course≥ 90 days).The grading of the proliferative vitroretinopathy (PVR) wa>C2 in all the eyes.Histopathological examination waperformed to assesthe pathological elemenin the differentypeand stageof epiretinal membrane,and the differential expressionof CTGF and FN in the varioutypeof epiretinal membranewere detected by immunochemistry.The amounof cellpositive foCTGF and FN wacompared using the FisheExacProbability method.ResultHistopathological examination showed thaincrease in the numbeof RPE celland inflammatory cellwaprimary characteristiin the epithelial membrane of RRD with courses<90 days,buthere were loof neurogliocyteand fibroblastin the RRD group with course≥ 90 days.In addition,the infiltration of inflammatory cellwapredominanin the RRD and Dgroups,bufibroplasiwaobviouin the silicon oil tamponade group.When the course wa≥ 90 days,7 eye(70.0%)in the RRD group wapositive foCTGF,and 18 eyes(90.0%)in the Dgroup and 2 eyes(28.6%)in the silicon oil tamponade group were positive foCTGF,with significandifference among them(P=0.037).In regardto FN,9 eyeshowed expression in the RRD group(90.0%),18 eyein the Dgroup(90.0%)and 7 eyein the silicon oil tamponade group(100.0%),withousignificandifference among them (P =0.379).In the RRD group,7 eyewith course≥ 90 dayand 13 eyewith courses<90 days(92.9%)were positive foCTGF,showing significandifference between them(P =0.032).AfoFN,9 eye(90.0%)with course≥ 90 dayshowed positivity,which wasignificantly highethan the 7 eyewith courses<90 day(50.0%) (P =0.019).ConclusionThe expression of CTGF in epiretinal membranevariewith the disease type and course duration,buthe expression of FN in epiretinal membrane varieonly with the course duration.

9.Formation rules of baicalin-berberine complex

AIM To study the formation rules of baicalin-berberine complex.METHODS Under the conditions of different ratios of baicalin to berberine,heating methods and media (pH,ionic strength),the yield and composition of mixed decoction precipitation were determined by HPLC.RESULTS 0.5 g Baicalin and 1 g berberine produced the highest amount of precipitation.Higher heating temperature,nearly neutral pH (6.8) and glucose addition were beneficial to precipitate generation,in sharp contrast to NaCl addition.CONCLUSION The yield and composition of baicalin-berberine complex are mainly influenced by heating temperature and additives.
10.Study on relationship of clinical effect of xuefu zhuyu concentrated pill and serum pharmacological anti-platelet activating effect in vitro.

OBJECTIVETo assess the significance of platelet activation in unstable angina pectoris (UA) and acute myocardial infarction (AMI), and to explore the relationship of clinical effect of Xuefu Zhuyu concentrated pill (XCP) in vivo and the serum pharmacological anti-platelet activating effect of XCP in vitro.
METHODSBy flow cytometry and special labelled antibodys to detect the whole blood platelet membranous glycoprotein CD62P and CD41/45 expressions in UA patients before and after XCP treatment, as well as those in peripheral blood of AMI rats before and after co-cultured with XCP containing serum from patients at 37 degrees C for 30 min.
RESULTSCD62P and CD41/45 expressions increased significantly in UA patients to 24.36 +/- 7.91% and 29.51 +/- 12.21% respectively. After effective treatment, they decreased to 19.57 +/- 7.22% and 20.87 +/- 8.73% respectively accompanied with increase of platelet adhesion and aggregation rate. The difference of CD62P before and after treatment was significant (P < 0.05). CD62P in blood of AMI rats was 39.73 +/- 12.36%, after being co-cultured with XCP containing serum from patients treated effectively, it reduced to 30.41 +/- 10.36% (P < 0.05), but after co-cultured with the serum from patients treated ineffectively, it showed less intervention effect (P > 0.05).
CONCLUSIONPlatelet was highly activated in UA patients and AMI rats. The consistency between clinical holistic effect of XCP and serum pharmacological effect of XCP in platelet activation inhibition reflects a good correlation between serum pharmacological effect of Chinese herbal medicine and its clinical holistic effect.
