3.Effect of Xuezhikang on Serum MCP-1 Level and Endothelial Function in Patients with Chronic Heart Failure
China Pharmacy 2007;0(27):-
OBJECTIVE:To observe the effect of Xuezhikang on serum MCP-1 and endothelial function of brachial artery in patients with chronic heart failure but with normal cholesterol level. METHODS:Patients with chronic heart failure (NYHAⅡ-Ⅳ) were randomly allocated into two groups(n=24 each). Both groups received routine treatment in accordance with the guide of CHF treatment, additionally, the treatment group received Xuezhikang 0.6 g bid for 8 weeks. Serum levels of MCP-1 before and after treatment were measured by ELISA and endothelial function of brachial artery was detected by ultrasonography. RESULTS:In Xuezhikang-treated group compared with the control group, serum level of MCP-1 decreased significantly(P

Objective To Investigate the disorder of colonic epithelium apoptosis and proliferation as well as its role of the epithelial barrier break down in ulcerative colitis(UC). Methods Fifty biopsy specimens were obtained endoscopically from 35 patients of UC and 15 controls respectively. The specimens were used for diagnosis of UC and investigation of epithelium proliferation an d apoptosis by IHC with markers of ki- 67 and M30 respectively. Results Apopto sis index(marked by M30) and ratio of apoptosis to proliferation increased obvio usly in UC compared with the controls(P0.05);Disorder of epithelium apoptosis an d proliferation take place in UC.Apoptosis cells were found not only at luminal surface but also at the base of crypt;however, proliferation cells may extend to superior part of the crypt. Conclusion Unlimited and premature apoptosis as wel l as disorder of apoptosis to proliferation is maybe one of the causes which lea ding to breakdown of the epithelial barrier function i n UC.

Journal of Practical Stomatology 2001;0(01):-
Objective:To isolate and identify the periodontal ligament stem cells. Methods:Periodontal ligament tissues were digested with a mixture of collagenase and Dispase, then the periodontal ligament stem cell clones were isolated by limited dilution method. The transmission electron microscopy(TEM),flow cytometery and immunohistochemistry procedure were employed to study the ultrastructure, cell cycle and surface marker of the cloned cells. Results:The obtained cells showed the characteristics of undifferentiated morphology at ultrastructural level.94.4% of the cells were in phase G_0/G_1.The cells were Vimentin,STRO-1,ON and BSP positive. Conclusion:Cloning incubation may be the effective way to isolate and purify the periodontal ligament stem cells.

This paper reported a new method of Armillaria mellea isolation-Gastrodia elata tissue isolating. Compared with normal isolating method-rhizomorph isolating method, it showed that the success rate of new method (78% ) was higher than the rhizomorph isolating method (16% ) , besides this, the new method was easier, and growth characteristic of obtained strain was superior to that obtained from rhizomorph isolating method.
8.The design of a new respiratory detecting system using impedance method.
Journal of Biomedical Engineering 2003;20(3):527-530
A coupling principle of reflecting impedance based on resonance is designed to achieve impedance detection with high sensitivity. It is characterized by small impelled current, high sensitivity and simple circuit. The principle can be used not only in detecting human respiratory impedance, but also in detecting the bio-impedance of other human organs. It may find wide application in this aspect.

Chinese Journal of Postgraduates of Medicine 2011;34(19):23-26
Objective To observe the effect of angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitors (ACEI) on anemia and erythropoietin (EPO) requirements in maintenance hemodialysis patients. Methods Ninety maintenance hemodialysis patients with hypertension and anemia were divided into 2 groups by random digits table, observation group (45 cases, using ACEI as antihypertensive treatment), control group [45 cases, using calcium channel blocker (CCB) as antihypertensive treatment]. The follow-up period after starting ACEI or CCB therapy was one year. The hemoglobin concentration, serum EPO, EPO requirements were compared after 0, 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, 12 months' treatment. Results In response to ACEI, the mean hemoglobin value in observation group decreased progressively, reaching statistical significance after 6 months, and it had significant difference compared with that in control group [6 months: (94.21±9.20) g/Lvs. (105.55±9.16) g/L,12 months: (95.90±6.75) g/L vs. (105.81±4.45) g/L,P <0.05]. The EPO requirements experienced a progressive increase in observation group and reached statistical significance after 8 months, compared with those in control group [8 months: ( 10 090.75±1918.35) U/week vs. (7010.32±1600.15) U/week, 12 months: (11 586.39±2009.76) U/week vs. (7068.48±1615.35) U/week,P<0.05].Serum erythropoietin concentration remained stable during the study in two groups. Conclusion ACEI can worsen anemia and reduce the efficacy of EPO in maintenance hemodialysis patients.

BACKGROUND:Wnt signaling pathway is the key to regulation of cell proliferation and differentiation. The evidence suggests that this pathway participates in the neural precursor cell proliferation, differentiation and determination of the regulation of cell fate.At present, the Wnt signaling pathway effects on the mesenchymal stem cells(MSCs)differentiated into neuron-like cells have not been reported.OBJECTIVE:To seek Wnt signal molecule that promotes the differentiation of MSCs into neuron-like cells.METHODS:MSCs were isolated from the femur of Sprague Dawley rats in vitro using the density gradient centrifugation, and then cultured.Following passage, cell surface markers CD29,CD44,CD34 and CD45 were measured using morphology and flow cytometry. These cells were selected and evaluated.Using neurotrophic factor and basic fibroblast growth factor combined with Wnt3a and Wnt5a induction scheme, effects of Wnt3a and Wnt5a during the differentiation of MSCs into neuron-like cells were compared utilizing immunohistochemistry and reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction(RT-PCR).Simple culture of basic fibroblast growth factor served as controls.RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:Following culture and passage of MSCs,cells adhered to the wall, showing even spindle shape.Flow cytometry showed great expression of CD29 and CD44 and low expression of CD34 and CD45.Following Wnt3a induction, cells were positive for nestin, neuron specific enolase, but no significantly expressed glial fibrillary acidic protein.Following induction, cell viability was good.In the Wnt5a induction and control groups, weakly positive expression of nestin was found, but neuron specific enolase and glial fibrillary acidic protein were negative.RT-PCR results demonstrated that nestin expression was detected in the Wnt3a induction group before and after induction.Significant amplified bands for neuron specific enolase were detected at day 5 following induction, and became more significant at day 10.Weak bands for glial fibrillary acidic protein were visible at day 10 following induction. These indicated that Wnt3a can promote the differentiation of MSCs into neuron-like cells in vitro.
