Method: Two hundreds cases of chronic prostatitis were randomly divided into the treatment group and control group, 100 cases in each group, to observe the therapeutic effects in the clinical symptoms before and after acupuncture treatments and compare the therapeutic effects of the acupoints between the two groups. Results: Clinical subjective symptoms and examination of prostatic fluid were obviously improved in the treatment group (Group Ⅰ) than in the control group (Group Ⅱ), and the effective rate was 100% in the treatment group and was 91% in the control group, in a significant difference (P ＜ 0.01).Conclusion: There is a remarkable therapeutic effect in the treatment of chronic prostatitis by puncturing four acupoints at the root of penis in combination with related acupoints.

Objective To compare between conventional and endoscope-assisted greater saphenous vein harvesting and to invest if endoscope-assisted greater saphenous vein harvesting can reduce post-operative leg incision complications.Methods Minimally invasive endoscopic saphenous vein harsvesting technique has been used in 36 isolated CABG patients and this is compaired with 50 conventional saphenous vein harsvesting group. There is no significant difference in sex structure, age, hypertension, diabetes mellitum (DM), myocardial infarction (MI) et al in two groups. Results The incidence of post-operative leg complications with minimally invasive greater saphenous vein harvesting group (2.8% ) was remarkably lower than that in conventional group (28%), and the hospital-stay time was much shorter in minimally invasive group. Conclusion Endoscope-assisted saphenous vein harvesting is a effective method in reducing post-operative leg incision complications.

ObjectiveTo observe the effect of community-based rehabilitation (CBR) on older stroke patients in ability of activities of daily living (ADL).Methods50 older stroke patients were randomly divided into the rehabilitation group and control group. The rehabilitation group was treated with motor function exercise and ADL training, while the control group only took medicine. Two groups were evaluated with Barthel index before and after treatment. ResultsScores of Barthel index on the rehabilitation group were higher than that on the control group after treatment, and there was a significantly difference between two groups (P<0.01). Conclusions CBR has the significant effect on improving ADL in older stroke patients.

Corynebacterium glutamicum SA001 is a mutant with lactate dehydrogenase (ldhA) deletion. In order to increase metabolic flux from isocitrate to succinate, and to improve the production of succinate under anaerobic conditions,we transducted the gene aceA coding isocitrate lyase (ICL) from Escherichia coli K12 into Corynebacterium glutamicum SA001 (SA001/pXMJ19-aceA). After 12 h aerobic induction by adding 0.8 mmol/L of IPTG, the recombinant strain was transferred to anaerobic fermentation for 16 h. Succinate reached 14.84 g/L, with a productivity of 0.83 g/(L x h). Compared to C. glutamicum SA001, the activity of ICL of the recombinant strain was increased 5.8-fold, and the succinate productivity was increased 48%. Overexpression of isocitrate lyase will increase the metabolic flux of glyoxylate bypass flowing to succinate.

Objective: To develop a new determination method of astrogaloside in s erum by spectrophotofluorimetry. Methods: The fluorescence char acteristics of astragaloside anisic reaction product were used to determine astragaloside in serum. Re sults: The reaction product of astrogaloside and anisic acid had excitatio n and emission maxima were at 320 and 387 nm, respectively. The linear range of determ inati on was between 0.2 and 40.0 mg*L －1. The detection limit was 0.02 mg*L －1.　The recovery of measurement was between 98.8% and 102.4%. Conclusion: The propos ed method has advantages of high sensitivity, low detection limit and no interference. It has been used to determine astragaloside in serum successfully.

AIM: To compare the clinical outcomes of pterygium excision followed by translocation of adjacent conjunctival autograft with stem cells or transplantation of conjunctival autograft with stem cells to treat and prevent the recurrence of pterygium.METHODS: Fifty patients (60 eyes) were divided into 2groups, and pterygium excision followed by translocation of adjacent conjunctival autograft with stem cells (group A) and pterygium excision followed by transplantation of conjunctiva autograft harvested from counter-side limbus with stem cells (group B) were performed respectively.The surgical time of each case was recorded.RESULTS: All the 50 cases (60 eyes) of pterygium were recruited. The epithelization of cornea and conjunctiva in all cases finished in 2-5d, During the follow-up of 6-12mo, pterygium reoccurred in 2 cases (1 in each group), with no difference in recurrence rate. The mean surgical time was 25± 8min for group A,43± 11min for group B, the difference being statistically significant (P＜0.05, t-test).CONCLUSION: Both methods, pterygium excision followed by translocation of adjacent conjunctival autograft with stem cells or transplantation of conjunctival autograft with stem cells are effective on treating and reducing the recurrence of pterygium. Compared with the latter, pterygium excision followed by translocation of adjacent conjunctival autograft with stem cells is simpler and easier to perform, and is preferred by the patients too.

Background Medical refraction after cycloplegia is the preferable choice for precise measurement of degree of refractive error.Drugs used in China for cycloplegia include atropine and tropicamide,and the use of cyclopentolate is an alternative for ophthalmologist.However,the data for the evaluation and comparison of efficacy of the available drugs in cycloplegia is still lacking.Objective This system analysis was to evaluate the difference between atropine and cyclopentolate in cycloplegia in children.Methods A systematic literature retrieval was conducted in MEDLINE,EMbase,Google residual accommodation after cycloplegia by atropine and cyclopentolate were compared.Statistical analysis was performed using the RevMan 5.1.0 software.Results A total of 7 studies were included in this meta analysis,including 6 cohort study design and 1 randomized,doubleblinded clinical trial and 1232 eyes.For retinoscopic evaluation after cycloplegia,no significant differences were found between cyclopentolate and atropine in children with hyperopia and myopia (WMD =-0.21,95％ CI:-0.47-0.06,P=0.13 ; WMD =-0.10,95％ CI:-0.36-0.15,P =0.43).For residual accommodation after cycloplegia,no significant difference was seen between cyclopentolate and atropine in ammetropic children (WMD =0.30,95％ CI:-0.10-0.71,P =0.15).Conclusions Cyclopentolate shows the same effect on the cycloplegia as atropine in children,and it can take the place of atropine in cycloplegia in childhood.
