OBJECTIVE: To explore the anti-tumor and immunologic enhancement effects of Xiangling capsule.METHODS: The tumor-inhibition experiment was conducted in vivo in accordance with the screening criteria of anti-tumor drugs.Mice were treated with cyclophosphamide to induce hypoimmunity model.The effect of Xiangling capsule on mice was tested by determining leukocyte count,thymus index,spleen index,and the activity of NK cells.RESULTS: Xiangling capsules at different concentration showed inhibition on the growth of mice-transplanted tumor S180,H22 hepatomas and Lewis lung carcinoma with inhibition rates of 44.8%,52.2 %,and 43.3%,respectively(P

OBJECTIVE:To promote the implementation of essential medicine system by combining drug utilization research with national essential medicine system. METHODS:The importance of information monitoring in the implementation of essential medicine system was analyzed and the application of drug utilization research in the implementation of essential medicine system was also discussed. RESULTS & CONCLUSIONS:It is suggested that the indicators for example DDDs are used in the monitoring of clinical drug utilization,and conditions also should be created to carry out further research of drug utilization so as to promote the implementation of essential medicine system in China.

Objective: To estabilsh a rapid and accurate method for the determination of 17 anti-inflammatory and analgesic chemicals (paracetamol, aspirin, phenacetin, chlorpheniramine maleate, rofecoxib, piroxicam, lornoxicam, meloxicam, prednisone acetate, sulindac, naproxen, dexamethasone acetate, phenylbutazone, oxaprozin, celecoxib, diclofenac sodium, and indomethacin) which were illegally added into the Chinese patent medicines (CPM) and the health foods. Methods: The UPLC-MS/MS method was adopted. The samples were extracted with methanol by ultrasonic processing and separated on a Waters Acquity BEH C18 column (100 mm × 2.1 mm, 1.7 μm) with 0.1% formic acid methanol (A) and 0.1% formic acid water (B) as the mobile phase by gradient elution (0-4 min, 40% A; 4-5 min, 40%-50% A; 5-6 min, 50%-60% A; 6-12 min, 60%-80% A; 12-13 min, 80% A; 13-14 min, 80%-40% A) at a flow rate of 0.2 mL/min, and the column temperature was 40℃. A positive-ion (ESI+) source and a MRM mode were used to separately and quantitatively determinate the 17 anti-inflammation and analgesia chemicals. The obtained molecular ions, fragment ions, and retention time for MRM channels were used to identify the 17 chemicals by comparison with those of reference substances. The obtained peak areas were used to determinate the accurate content of chemicals in commonly used drugs in clinic. Results: A good resolution of the 17 chemicals, including paracetamol, aspirin, phenacetin, chlorpheniramine maleate, rofecoxib, piroxicam, lornoxicam, meloxicam, prednisone acetate, sulindac, naproxen, dexamethasone acetate, phenylbutazone, oxaprozin, celecoxib, diclofenac sodium, and indomethacin was obtained under this UPLC and MS/MS condition. The limits of qualitation and quantitation were in the range of 0.3-5.0 and 0.9-15.0 ng/g. The standard addition recoveries were in the range of 90.5%-113.8%. The six components in samples (paracetamol, prednisone acetate, diclofenac sodium, indometacin, chlorpheniramine maleate, and naproxen) were detected. Conclusion: The method is simple, accurate, and has high sensitivity, which can be used for the qualitative and quantitative determination of illegally added chemicals in CPM and health foods.

ObjectiveTo investigation the requirement of patients for occupational therapy, and find a better manner for occupational therapy practices.MethodsThe questionnaire survey of expectation for occupational therapy was performed for sixty-nine patients. Questions were as below: how much does each patient expect through their occupational therapy for the goal, such as physical function recovery, psychological stability, vocational reinstate and so on.ResultsMore than ninety percent subject responded to questions about physical function recovery, re-acquiring roles in own family, decreasing care volume, psychological stability and pastime activity as expected. About the question of condition after discharge, thirty-two percents wanted to live in own home without care; while reinstate, continue to hospitalization, and live in care facilities were twenty-five percents respectively.ConclusionThere is a remarkable higher requirement for physical function recovery, however through the explanation about occupational therapy, another aspects of it are to be recognized.

Objective To observe the effect of sequential selection catheter combined with anisodamine in neurology catheterization patients about urine leakage to seek a new care pathway.Methods 240 cases of hospitalized neurology patients with indwelling catheter for a long time were randomized.The control group received conventional fixed-size catheter.According to the individual patient situation,the observed patients choose smallest model applicable Foley catheter when the initial catheterization,and increase the model sequential in turn periodic replacement of the catheter.The patients with leakage of urine were given anisodamine 10mg intramuscular injection,observe urine leakage rate of patients.Results The urine leakage rate was 6.67％ in the observation group which was significantly lower than 20.83％ in the control group(x2 =10.15,P ＜ 0.05),the intramuscular anisodamine efficient was 32/33 (96.97％).Conclusion Sequential selection catheter can significantly reduce the occurrence of urinary leakage,for patients with leakage of urine,anisodamine intramuscular injection can effectively control the leakage of urine,thereby greatly reducing the patient's pain.

BACKGROUND:Patellar tendinopathy is tiny damage at tendon insertion.Changes in the strength balance between medial vastus muscle(VM)and musculus vastus lateralis(VL)in the quadriceps may lead to patellar abnormal motion,even have an impact on the tendon insertion.OBJECTIVE:To compare and analyze knee mechanical charactedstics and surface electromyography of the quaddceps in athletes with patellar tendinopathy.in order to provide scientific basis for the prevention and treatment of patellar tendinopathy.DESIGN,TIME AND SETTING:Self-control experiment was performed in Central Laboratory of Physical Education College of Soochow University from June to July 2009.METHODS:A total of 10 athletes with patellar tendinopathy aged(21.44±1.51)yeam were selected as patellar tendinopathy group and 10 normal athletes aged(21.37±1.36)years were selected as normal control.MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES:①Knee flexor and extensor muscles peak torque in concentric and eccentric isokinetic exercise between two groups.②Comparison of quadnceps integrated electromyogram(IEMG)between two groups.③Comparison of VM/VL in different kinds of exercises between groups.RESULTS:The ratio of flexor and extensor peak torques of the patellar tendinopathy group was significantly greater than the normal group in concentric and eccentric isokinetic exercises(P＜0.05 or 0.01).VM IEMG of the patellar tendinopathy was significantly less than normal group(P＜0.05 or 0.01),but no difference was found in VL and rectus femoris IEMG between two groups.During the period of isometric exercise and isokinetic exercise,the ratios of VM/VL of the patellar tendinopathy group were remarkably lower than the normal group (P＜0.05 or 0.01).CONCLUSION:There are significant differences between flexor and extensor torques in patellar tendinopathy athletes.VM is under-activity and there is an imbalance between VM and VL.

Objective To investigate the accuracy of contrast enhanced ultrasound (CEUS) in diagnosing acute severe panereatitis.Methods Thirty three patients with acute severe pancreatitis were enrolled in the study and all of them underwent CEUS and spiral computed tomography(CT) scan.CT was taken as gold standard in acute severe pancreatitis diagnosis.CEUS were done within 72 hours after CT scan.Results Compared with CT, the sensitivity, specificity,accuracy, positive predictive value,and negative predictive value of CEUS for detecting the necrosis of pancreas were 90%, 95%, 94%, 90% and 95%respectively.The sensitivity, specificity, accuracy, positive predictive value,and negative predictive value of CEUS in diagnosing severe acute pancreatitis were 85%, 92%, 88%, 94% and 80% respectively, while 37% ,86% ,58%, 78%, 50% for conventional ultrasound respectively.Conclusions CEUS is accurate in detection of pancreatic necrosis and diagnosis of acute severe pancreatitis.
