The contents of these articles mainly about application study. After analysing the data, the future of ion beam bioengineering of China was forecasted.

?AlM: To discuss the differences in accommodative lag of different stimulation between the adolescent myopes who wore rigid gas permeable contact lens ( RGPCL ) and spectacles for one year.
?METHODS: Totally 85 myopes between 10-16y were enrolled in the study. Every subject was examined with the visual function test, medical optometry, corneal topography and ocular health check etc. of eyes. According to the above measurements and the compliance of children and their parents, 41 subjects were selected to wear RGPCL, 44 subjects were chosen to wear spectacles. Based on maximum plus to maximum visual acuity ( MPMVA) , accommodative lag was determined by dynamic retinoscopy method in two groups. The subjects were examined once every 3mo, accommodative lag was measured again using the same method for comparative analysis after one year. Wearing a year later, myopia progression of the two groups was measured and compared.
?RESULTS: There was no significant difference between two groups of initial accommodative lag (P>0. 05). After wearing one year, there was also no significant difference between the accommodative lag examined and the initial lag in RGPCL group (P>0. 05), the results demonstrate significant difference between the accommodative lag examined after wearing one year and the initial lag in spectacles group ( P < 0. 05 ). One year later, the differences were significant in accommodative lag between RGPCL and spectacles wearers stimulated by 2D, 3D and 4D ( P < 0. 05 ), and the accommodative lag increased with increasing stimulation in both groups. After wearing a year, the myopia progression of RGPCL group was less than spectacles wearers, and the differences were significant (P<0. 05).
?CONCLUSlON:After wearing RGPCL and spectacles one year in high accommodative stimulus, there is an obviously decreased in accommodative lag in RGPCL group, which suggests that RGPCL can control the progression of myopia in adolescents. The accommodative lag of the two groups increase obviously with increasing stimulation, which suggest that the adolescents need keeping good habits of reading.

Objective To investigate the influence of L‐type Helicobacter pylori(Hp‐L) infection on invasion and metastasis of gastric carcinoma .Methods Carcinoma tissues and normal tissues were collected from 80 patients with gastric cancer ,and detected for Hp‐L ,matrix metalloproteinases‐9(MMP‐9) and vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF) by using Gram staining ,immuno‐histochemistry staining and transmission electron microscope .Results Positive rate of Hp‐L in carcinoma tissues was 67 .50% , higher than the 23 .75% of normal tissues(P<0 .05) .Positive rates of MMP‐9 and VEGF of carcinoma tissues were also higher than normal tissues(P<0 .05) .Positive rates of VEGF and MMP‐9 of carcinoma tissues positive with Hp‐L were higher than carci‐noma tissues negative with Hp‐L(P<0 .05) .The positive rate of Hp‐L in carcinoma tissues was correlated with local and distant lymph node metastasis ,and invasion depth ,but not correlated with the size of tumor .Conclusion Hp‐L infection might be correla‐ted with carcinogenesis of gastric cancer ,and could also influence metastasis and invasion of gastric cancer .

OBJECTIVE: To study the bacteriostatic action of Yiqing capsule against propionibacterium acnes and staphylococcus epidermidis in vitro.METHODS: Propionibacterium acnes and staphylococcus epidermidis were cultured by microplating method and routine plating,and the bacteriostatic action of different concentration of Yiqing capsule and its main components against propionibacterium acnes and staphylococcus epidermidis were determined by measuring their MICs.RESULTS: The MICs of Yiqing capsule and Scutellaria baicalensis extractum against propionibacterium acnes and staphylococcus epidermidis were 0.98 mg?mL-1 and 1 mg?mL-1,respectively,whereas the MICs of Radix et Rhizoma Rhei and Rhizoma Coptidis Scutellaria extractum against propionibacterium acnes and staphylococcus epidermidis were 1.96 mg?mL-1 and 1 mg?mL-1,respectively.CONCLUSION: Yiqing capsule showed satisfactory bacteriostatic action against the major pathogenic bacteria of acne.

To analyze the specific mechanism of Jinxueyuan granules, the relationship between the Jinxueyuan granules increased the saliva secretion of xerostomia model SD rats and excitement of receptors were studied in this experiment. In the study, three groups of xerostomia model rats were successfully established by using M-receptor blockers-4-diphenyl-acetoxy-N-methyl-piperidine (4-DAMP) and atropine, or adrenergic receptor blocker phentolamine; after the modeling, the medicine Jinxueyuan granules were gavaged. According to the clinical dose of Jinxueyuan granules and SD rats body surface area, the rats in atropine group were divided three dose groups respectively, namely low, medium and high dose of Jinxueyuan granules groups. The 4-DAMP group and phentolamine group were gavaged medium dose of Jinxueyuan granules. And the amount of salivary secretion for 150 minutes in all groups continuously were measured, and the effect of Jinxueyuan granules increased salivation and the relationship between characteristics and the receptors were observed; and submandibular gland tissue of the rats was isolated, then the effect of Jinxueyuan Granules for expression of the water channel protein aquaporin-5 (AQP5) in submandibular gland cells was analyzed by the Western blot technology. It was found that the saliva secretion of Jinxueyuan Granules groups was increased significantly, and compared with the saline control group, phentolamine group, 4-DAMP group and atropine group, difference was significant, P < 0.05. There was no significant difference between the low-dose of Jinxueyuan granules group and the saline group, but the medium dose of Jinxueyuan granules group had a significant difference, compared with the saline group (P < 0.05). In the time distribution of increasing saliva secretion, there was a significant difference between the saline and Jinxueyuan granules group in the saliva secretion (P < 0.05). After administration of Jinxueyuan granules, the expression of AQP5 protein in the submandibular gland cells expressing of treatment groups was increased, and compared with the blocker groups, there was a significant difference, P < 0.05. Except the atropine group, there was no significant difference in Jinxueyuan granules relieving the inhibition induced by blocks in phentolamine group and 4-DAMP group, compared with the saline group. Compared the AQP5 expression in three blockers groups, there was no significant difference in the efficacy of Jinxueyuan granules between phentolamine group and 4-DAMP group; but there was a significant difference between the atropine group and other groups (P < 0.05). Therefore, it was considered that the mechanism of Jinxueyuan granules increasing saliva secretion (effectiveness of nourishing Yin and generating body fluid ) possibly through the pathway mediated by muscarinic M receptor, especially M3 receptor, or adrenergic receptor, and increased expression of salivary gland AQP5 membrane, and then stimulate saliva production.

Objective To evaluate the clinical efficacy and safety of two glycolic acid-containing liquid preparations for the treatment of facial acne vulgaris.Methods Sixty patients with mild to moderate acne vulgaris were included in a randomized,single-blinded,split-face,controlled study.The left and right sides of each patient's face were randomly assigned to the test group (treated with one hydroxy acid-containing liquid preparation) and control group (treated with the other hydroxy acid-containing liquid preparation).In total,all the patients were given four times of treatment at week 0,2,6 and 10 with the concentration of hydroxy acid in both preparations being 20％,35％,50％ and 70％,respectively.The number of inflammatory and noninflammatory acne lesions was counted,and the improvement in acne mark,scar and pores was evaluated by a 6-point grading scale before every treatment and 4 weeks after the last treatment.Results At 2,6,10,and 14 weeks after initiation of treatment,the clearance rate for inflammatory lesions was 20.4％,43.3％,66.9％ and 80.2％ respectively in the test group,21.6％,44.2％,68.1％ and 79.8％ respectively in the control group,while that for noninflammatory lesions was 18.5％,34.0％,41.3％ and 59.6％ respectively in the test group,17.8％,31.2％,44.9％ and 57.1％ respectively in the control group.The response rate was 80.0％ in the test group and 78.3％ in the control group at the end of the study.Adverse effects were observed in both groups,including temporary pain,erythema and formation of hoar frost,all of which well responded to symptomatic treatment.There were no significant differences in clinical efficacy or adverse effects between the two groups (both P ＞ 0.05).Conclusion Both of the hydroxy acid-containing preparations are effective and safe for mild to moderate acne vulgaris.

BackgroundDiabetic retinopathy (DR) is a progressive vision-threatening complication of diabetes mellitus,but its pathogenic mechanism is still unclear. Recent studies showed that it may be associated with the inflammation response of retinal capillary. Cytokines can cause induction of proinflammatory and adhesion molecules and thereby increase monocyte endothelial cell adhesion, which is now accepted as the early key event in the development of DR. ObjectiveThe present study was to determine the relationship between the stages of DR and the levels of serum vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) , interleukin-2 ( IL-2 ), tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-α) in diabetic patients. Methods This was a pilot case-controlled study. Ninety patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus were included in this clinical trial and 30 healthy individuals were enrolled as controls. The patients were grouped into the non-diabetic retinopathy(NDR) group,background DR group and proliferative DR(PDR) group according to the results from ophthalmoscopic examination and fundus fluorescein angiography(FFA) ,with 30 patients for each group. The levels of serum VEGF,IL-2,TNF-α were assayed by ELISA and compared among the 4 groups.Written informed consent was obtained from each subject before received any related medical examination to this study. ResultsThe mean serum VEGF levels were(217.35±27. 87)ng/L,(298.31±49.26)ng/L,and(341.23±40. 18)ng/L, respectively, and mean serum IL-2 levels were( 12. 12± 1. 57 )ng/L, (16.43 ±2. 26 )ng/L, and (21.36±0. 86) ng/L,respectively and mean serum TNF-α levels were( 11.63±0. 94) ng/L, ( 17. 52±0. 65) ng/L,and(22. 01±0. 87 ) ng/L respectively in the patients with NDR ,background DR and PDR, showing significant differences from healthy controls with( 193.46±37. 39 ) ng/L for serum VEGF, ( 8. 99 ±0. 57 ) ng/L for serum IL-2 and ( 7.31 ±0. 52 ) ng/L for serum TNF-α ( F =126. 38, P＜0. 0 1 ;F =120. 37, P＜0. 01 ;F =99. 84, P＜0. 01 ). The levels of serum VEGF, IL-2, and TNF-α in the patients with the NDR,background DR and PDR were increased significantly. The level of serum VEGF showed the positively significant correlation with serum IL-2 level and TNF-α level ( r =0. 749, P ＜ 0.01 ; r =0. 631,P＜0. 01 ). The serum levels of VEGF, IL-2 and TNF-α showed a significantly positive correlation with the prolongation and severity of DR(r=0. 791 ,P＜0. 01 ;r=0. 665 ,P＜0. 01 ;r=0. 632,P＜0. 01 ). ConclusionsVEGF, IL-2 and TNF-α play active roles in the generation and development of diabetic retinopathy, and the level of serum VEGF is closely associated with the levels of serum IL-2 and TNF-α. during the development of DR.

AlM: To observe the differences of central cornea thickness, anterior chamber depth, corneal anterior curvature and corneal posterior curvature between the Kazak and the Han nationality college emmetropia students, and analyze the relationship of corneal thickness and corneal curvature.?METHODS: More than 500 students in grade one in Xinjiang Medical University for screening, selected 55 emmetropia eyes in Han nationality students and 51 in Kazak students. Sirius corneal topography was applied to the measurement.? RESULTS: Kazak and the Han nationality college emmetropia students' central cornea thickness ( Kazak:0. 52± 0. 03mm, Han:0. 54 ± 0. 03mm), anterior chamber depth (Kazak:2. 97 ± 0. 31mm, Han: 3. 14 ± 0. 25mm) had significant difference (P<0. 05). Corneal anterior curvature and corneal posterior curvature were no significant difference (P>0. 05). Han had no significant relationship in corneal thickness and corneal anterior curvature (r<0), or in corneal posterior curvature ( r < 0. 1 ) . Kazak had no significant relationship in corneal thickness and corneal anterior curvature (r<0), or in corneal posterior curvature(r<0. 1).? CONCLUSlON: There are significant differences between the Kazak and the Han nationality college emmetropia students in cornea thickness, anterior chamber depth. There is no significant relationship between corneal thickness and corneal curvature (K1, K2) in Kazak and the Han nationality college emmetropia students.
