2.Study on the relationship between echocardiographic epicardial fat thickness and the severity of coronary heart disease
Chinese Journal of Primary Medicine and Pharmacy 2013;20(18):2752-2754
Objective To investigate the correlation between epicardial fat thickness (EAT) and the risk factors of coronary artery disease (CAD) as well as the severity of coronary lesions with echocardiography,Methods According to the results of coronary angiography,80 patients underwent coronary angiography were divided into coronary heart disease group (CHD group,4 6 cases) and without coronary heart disease group (control group,34cases),and according to coronary artorrythe severity,CHD goup was divided into subgroups of single-vessel disease (24 cases) and multivessel disease subgroup(22 cases).Tho epioardial fat thickness on the free wall of the right ventricle was measured at end-systole from the para-sterna,long-axis vlews. The relationship between EAT and the risk factors of CAD (such as age, gender, hypercholesterolemia, hypertenston, diabetes, smoking, family CAD history) as well as the severity of coronary lesions were analyzed. Results EAT in multivessel disease CAD group [(8.85 ± 1.44)mm] was significantly higher than that in single vessel CAD group[(6.86 ± 1.09) mm] and control group [(4.58 ± 1.12) mm] (all P < 0.01).EAT was significantly related with the risk factors of CAD.Although the risk factors of CAD such as age, blood glucose, blood pressure were adjusted,EAT was still independently associated with CAD (OR:5.394,95 % CI:1.700 ~ 17.1 12,P =0.004).Concluslon The level of EAT is significantly correlated with CAD and the severity of coronary lesions.
3.Clinical & histopathological analysis of 100 cases of scrotal Paget's disease
Chinese Journal of Dermatology 2008;41(10):641-643
Objective To analyze the clinical and histopathological features of 100 cases of scrotal Paget's disease. Methods Specimens were collected from 100 outpatients with scrotai Paget's disease evaluated in the Department of Dermatology, Huashan Hospital, Fudan University during the period of 1987-2004. Clincal data as well as findings in the examination with H&E staining, special staining and immunohisto-chemical staining were retrospectively assessed for these cases. Results Three types of tumor cells were observed in these specimens, including typical Paget cells (51 cases), mutinous or signet-ring cells ( 11 cases), small cells ( 18 cases). Mixed types of tumor cells were seen in 20 cases. Paget cells spread in the epidermis in three patterns (sparsely, intensively and classically). Tumor cells could extend down along the epithelium of follicles or sweat glands, ultimately broke through dermal-epidermal junction or the basal membrane of adnexa, and migrated into the dennis. Conclusions Histopathological examination is the most important clue to the diagnosis of scrotal Paget's disease. Histologically, it should he differentiated from superficial spreading malignant melanoma, skin iymphoma, pagetoid squamous cell carcinoma in situ and secondary scrotal Paget's disease.

Objective To explore the relation between puncturing at superficial venules and effectiveness of acupoint application in summer to treat winter disease. Methods 4872 chronic bronchitis patients who received therapy of acupoint application in summer for treating winter diseases were divided into a superficial-venule group (including 994 patients) and a non-superficial-venuls group (including 3878 patients), according to the conditions that if or not they had superficial venuls. Both groups received the treatment of acupoint application combined with plum-blossom needles quick puncture. On this basis, the superficial-venule group was additional treated by puncturing at superficial venules. Results The cure rate and total effective rate were 73.2% and 98.1% in the superficial-venule group, and 35.9% and 90.8% in the non-superficial-venuls group. There was a significant difference between the two groups in their therapeutic effect (P<0.01).Conclusion The treatment of acupoint application combined with puncturing at superficial venules are effective in treating chronic bronchitis.

BACKGROUND:Stem cel transplantation has a certain effect in the treatment pulmonary arterial hypertension.
OBJECTIVE:To investigate the effect of bone marrow mesenchymal stem cel s transplantation on the treatment of pulmonary arterial hypertension and to discuss the mechanism.
METHODS:Bone marrow mesenchymal stem cel s were in vitro cultured, purified and amplified by density gradient centrifugation method, and labeled with the fluorescent dye for preparation. Pulmonary arterial hypertension model was established by subcutaneous injection of monocrotaline. One week after modeling, the rats were randomly divided into three groups. Rats in the stem cel transplantation group and pulmonary arterial hypertension group received subcutaneous injection of monocrotaline to establish the pulmonary arterial hypertension model. One week later, the rats in the stem cel transplantation group received sublingual vein injection of bone marrow mesenchymal stem cel solution, the rats in the pulmonary arterial hypertension group were injected with the culture medium without stem cel s, and the rats in the control group were injected with the normal saline in the same dose.
RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:At 2 weeks after transplantation, compared with the mesenchymal-induced pulmonary arterial hypertension rats, the hemodynamic parameters and the ratio of right ventricular/body weight of the rats in the stem cel transplantation group were significantly improved (P<0.05);the degree of pulmonary vascular remodeling was significantly reduced (P<0.05). Fluorescence microscope observation showed that the transplanted bone marrow mesenchymal stem cel s could alive at least 2 weeks in the stem cel transplantation group, and part of the stem cel s could differentiate into pulmonary vascular endothelial cel s. The results show that bone marrow mesenchymal stem cel transplantation can significantly improve the pulmonary vascular and right ventricular structural impairments in the rats with mesenchymal-induced pulmonary arterial hypertension.

Objective The experiment was designed to observe the effect of inhaled arsenic trioxide(As2O3)and in combination with inhaled moxa leaf oil on eosinophils(EOS)and lung tissue's morphology in asthmatic guinea pigs, and to explore its mechanism of relieving wheezing. Methods The ovalbumin(OVA)-induced asthmatic guinea pig model was established. Sixty guinea pigs were randomly divided into As2O3 atomization inhalation group B1 As2O3 low dose group:2.0 mg/(kg·d), B2 As2O3 high dose group:4.0 mg/(kg·d), combined treatment group C1 low dose group:2.0 mg/(kg·d)+moxa leaf oil 0.05 ml, C2 high dose group: 4.0 mg/(kg·d)+moxa leaf oil 0.10 ml, saline aerosol inhalation group(group A) asthma model group)and normal control group(group D)according to random permutation table method. After 7 days medicated, the EOS in bronchoalveolar lavage fluid(BALF)were compared. Guinea pig lung, heart, liver and kidney pathological specimens were prepared and the change of the lung tissue's inflammation and heart, liver and kidney tissue were investigated. Lung tissue’s electron microscopy specimens were prepared and the apoptosis of acidophilic cells and repair of alveolar epithelial cells were observed. Results Compared with asthma model group's EOS number[(58.08±19.01)×105], the difference in As2O3 low dose group、As2O3 high dose group、combined treatment low dose group、combined treatment high dose group and normal control group[(26.37±1.12)×105, (11.50±1.61)×105, (14.16±4.88)×105, (5.03±1.66)×105 and(0.35±0.16)×105, respectively] were statistically significant(P<0.01); there was statistical difference between As2O3 low dose group and As2O3 high dose group(P<0.01);There was statistical difference between As2O3 low dose group and combined treatment low dose group(P<0.01);There was statistical difference between As2O3 high dose group and combined treatment high dose group(P<0.05). Compared with combined treatment high dose group, difference in As2O3 low dose group、As2O3 high dose group and combined treatment low dose group was statistically significant(P<0.05). The difference in B1, B2, C1, C2 and D group was statistically significant compared with group A (P<0.01). The difference in B1 and B2, B1 and C1 group was statistically significant (P<0.01). The difference between B2 and C2 group was statistically significant(P<0.05). The difference in C2 group was statistically significant compared with group B1, B2 and C1(P<0.05). Conclusion EOS abnormal apoptosis was an important pathogenesis of bronchial asthma. The mechanism of arsenic trioxide anti-asthma was that arsenic trioxide could reduce acidophil infiltration and promote acidophilic cell apoptosis. The mechanism of moxa leaf oil anti-asthma was it could reduce acidophil infiltration. Smaller doses of the combination of inhaled As2O3 and moxa leaf oil was safe and effective to achieve the effect of relieving wheezing and the combined use had synergy.
