1.Insulin-like growth factor-1 generation test in diagnosis and treatment of short stature
International Journal of Pediatrics 2014;(5):485-488
Short stature accounts for a large proportion of endocrine diseases in children, with a complex and cross-cutting etiology. It is one of the risk factors for physical and psychological problems in children, and needs proper diagnosis and timely treatment. The insulin-like growth factor-1 ( IGF-1 ) generation test is via re-combinant human growth hormone(rhGH)stimulating peripheral target cells to secrete IGF-1. The effects of rh-GH stimulation are then evaluated according to the responsiveness of IGF-1,which is not only helpful for further determination of clinical classification of short stature, but also for therapy assessment of rhGH in time and a-chievement of personalized treatment.

6.The detection of hemoglobin A1c in clinical application
Chinese Journal of Laboratory Medicine 2012;35(6):501-504
The hemoglobin A1c(HbA1c) results can reflect the average level of blood glucose over the past 2-3 months, its clinical application value is transforming from evaluation indicator to diagnosis indicator. The application of HbA1c as a diagnostic indicator of diabetes is limited by many factors, such as multi-factor influence on measurement and its late start on standardization process in our country, optimal cut-point and the defect of HbA1c existing in the molecular level, etc. Therefore, clarifying the limitations of HbA1c in the practical application is of great significance for its clinical application.
7.Effect of extended nursing intervention in family nursing of discharged patients with intubation of T-tubes
Modern Clinical Nursing 2014;(10):47-50
ObjectiveTo explore the effects of extended nursing intervention (ENI) in nursing ability of discharged patients with intubation of T-tubes.Methods Eighty-two patients with biliary diseases discharged with intubation of T-tubes were equally divided into two groups. The patients in the experiment group were treated with ENI and those in the control group were treated with conventional nursing. Each group received routine nursing and health education before discharge. All patients were followed up by a self-designed written questionnaire.Data regarding patients’ compliance behavior, knowledge of the diseases and satisfaction were collected and analyzed.Result Significant differences were observed between the two groups, the patients in the experiment group exhibiting better compliance behavior, their knowledge of their diseases improved and the rate of satisfaction higher (P<0.05). Conclusion ENI may be effective for the discharged patients with intubation of T-tubes to improve their compliance behavior, enhance their knowledge of their diseases and raise the rate of satisfaction.

Objective To describe the feat ures of Balo′s concentric sclerosis o n MRI and ~1?H-MRS. Methods Three patients of Balo′s concen tric sclerosis were rep orted on the basis of brain MRI and stereotactic brain biopsy. Proton MR spectro scopy was carried out on 1 patient. Results Multiple ring-li ke lesions of lam inated demyelination alternating with spared white matter were demonstrated in a ll 3 patients, and the lesions were best seen in post-contrast images. ~1 ?H-MR S showed a decreased NAA peak, an increased choline peak, and the presence of la rge lipid peak. Conclusion Balo′s concentric sclerosis has cha racteristic findi ngs on MRI and ~1?H-MRS. MRI is very useful in the diagnosis of Balo′s c oncentric sclerosis.

Objective To investigate the methods for localization of the lung segments on three-dimentional (3D) pulmonary perfusion SPECT/CT imaging. Methods Twelve healthy adults were recruited into this study.Lung segments were defined based on the anatomical criteria of CT on transaxial, sagittal and coronal images, including apical, posterior, anterior segments in right upper lobe ( RUL), lateral, medial segments in right middle lobe ( RML), superior, anterior basal, lateral basal, posterior basal segments in right lower lobe (RLL); apical posterior, anterior, superior lingual, inferior lingual segments of left upper lobe ( LUL), superior, medioanterior basal, lateral basal, posterior basal segments of left lower lobe (LLL).Results (1) Eleven typical sections were selected on transaxial SPECT pulmonary perfusion imaging:sternoclavicular joint, supra-arch vessels, aortic arch, azygous arch, right upper lobar bronchus, left upper lobar bronchus, middle lobar or lingual bronchus, basal trunk of bronchus, lower lobar vein, superior and inferior basal vein and basal vein.(2) Twelve typical sections were defined on sagittal imaging:left hilum, bifurcation of left principal bronchus, septa of left pulmonary artery, cardiac apex, the first and second sections left to cardiac apex; right hilum, bifurcation of intermite bronchus, interlobar artery, bifurcation of interlobar artery, the second and third sections right to right atrium.(3) Seven typical sections were defined on coronal imaging:sternoclavicular joint, ascending aorta, bifurcation of pulmonary artery, bifurcation of trachea, intermite bronchus, basal vein and thoracic aorta. Conclusion The developed method was able to localize lung segments on pulmonary perfusion SPECT imaging.
10.Different concentration of iodized salt for preventing iodine deficiency disorder: a systematic review
Chinese Journal of Endemiology 2009;28(5):579-582
Objective To assess the effectiveness of different concentration of iodized salt for preventing iodine deficiency disorders. Methods Using the principle and method of systematic review, we searched Cochrane Library(from 1994 to Mar. 2007), Medline(from 1966 to Mar. 2007), BA(from 1969 to Mar. 2007), PubMed(from 1950 to Mar. 2007), OC1D(from 1950 to Mar. 2007), ISI Web of Knowledge(from 1966 to Mar. 2007), Vip (from 1989 to Mar. 2007), Wanfang(from 1997 to Mar. 2007), CBMDisc(from 1978 to Mar. 2007) and CNKI(1994 to Mar. 2007) and hand searched 6 relevant Chinese journals, including Chinese Journal of Preventive Medicine, Chinese Journal of Endemiology, Chinese Journal of Epidemiology, Chinese Journal of Control of Endemic Disease, Endemic Diseases Bulletin and Modern Preventive Medicine. We screened the for eligible studies according to the inclusion and exclusion criteria to be rigorously evealuatecl descriptly and qualitatively. Results Thirteen studies were included, of which, the first six were intervention trials with comparison, including two community intervention trials, which classified all objects into different groups, using iodized salt at different concentration as intervention, four were RCTs with different intervention methods, compare the iodized salt with other intervention measures. Seven were cross-sectional studies, which analyzed the iodine nutrition of people after the concentration of iodized salt was lowered down. Because of different interventions in control groups and different outcome measures, it was difficult to perform recta-analysis, a descriptive analysis of the results was presented. Most studies showed that urinary iodine level decreased as the concentration of iodized salt went down gradually. When the concentration of iodized salt went down to the best level recommended, goiter rate decreased obviously. Conclusions Iodized salt was considered as the hest method of iodine supply to prevent iodine deficiency disorders. But effectiveness of preventing iodine deficiency disorders with various concentration of iodized salt is different. To lower the concentration of iodized salt properly can not only prevent iodine deficiency disorders but also reduce the side effect of excess iodine intake to the minimum. And it can also save a lot of iodine resource. Well-designed community-based intervention trials with large sample size are needed to confirm the effect of different concentration of iodized salt on preventing iodine deficiency disorder.
