1.Advances in the stem cell-like side population cells
Tianjin Medical Journal 2016;44(4):505-508
Recently, stem cell like side population (SP) cells have been found in many normal organizations and malig?nant tumors, which have the proficiency of differentiation and self-renewal. These cells play an important role in cancer stem cell research, though they occupy a low proportion in total cells. Here, we reviewed the foundation of SP cells, and their rela?tionship with stem cells, and the clinical application in the future.

Objective: To study the chemical constituents in Vitis thunbergii var. taiwaniana specially grown in Taiwan, China. Methods: The compounds were isolated by repeated HP20 macroporous adsorption resin column combined with Sephadex LH-20, ODS, and silica gel column chromatography. Their structures were identified on the basis of extensive spectroscopic data analysis and by comparison of their spectral data reported. Results: Twelve compounds were identified as resveratrol (1), trans-ε-viniferin (2), (7R, 8R)-threo-4, 7, 9, 9'-tetrahydroxy-3, 3'-dimethoxy-8-O-4'-neolignan 7-O-β-D-glucopyranoside (3), (7S, 8R)-urolignoside (4), schizandriside (5), vitisin A (6), vitisin B (7), davidiol A (8), 3, 5, 4'-trihydroxystilbene 4'-O-β-D-glucopyranoside (9), ampelopsin C (10), (7R, 8S)-dihydrodehydrodiconiferyl alcohol 9-O-β-D-glucopyranoside (11), and epicatechin (12). Conclusion: Compounds 3-5 are separated from the plants of Vitis L. for the first time, and compounds 8, 9, 11, and 12 are separated from V. thunbergii var. taiwaniana for the first time.

Chinese Journal of Clinical Nutrition 2000;8(1):72-
Objective To understand the common complications of PICC in olinical use. Methods Retrospectively summarize the data of PICC used in patients of SICU in 1999. Results In 1999, there were 14 pateints using PICC, among them 12 patients were male and the others were female. The average age was 71 years old. Embolus 4 cases' PICC were pulled out. Phlebitis occured in only one case. There are 2 patients presenting hyperpyrexia pulled the PICC out. But the cultures of PICC were negative. Conclusions The common complications of PICC are embolism, phlebitis and infection.

Chinese Journal of Anesthesiology 1996;0(07):-
Objective To investigate the direct effects of midazolam on vascular tension and the possible mechanism Methods Male Wistar rats weighing 200 250g were decapitated and the thoraco abdominal sect of aorta was removed and placed in modified Kreb's solution balanced with 95% O 2 and 5% CO 2 After removal of surrounding connective tissue and fat, the aorta was cut into rings 3 4mm in length The endothelium of some of the aorta rings were denuded Aorta rings were suspended in a 37℃ bath of Kreb's solution which was continuously balanced with 95% O 2 and 5% CO 2 One end of the ring was fixed and the other end was connected to a tension monitor through a tension transducer The intactness of endothelium was tested and confirmed by addition of phenylephrine(PE) first and then acetylcholine Aorta rings of each animal were divided into four groups: endothelium intact control group(Ⅰ); endothelium intact experiment group(Ⅱ);endothelium denuded control group(Ⅲ);and endothelium denuded experiment group(Ⅳ) The experiment was carried out in two parts: Part Ⅰ: the effect of midazolam (3?10 -6 ,10?10 -6 ,30?10 -6 ,100?10 -6 mol/L) on endothelium intact and denuded aorta rings which were precontracted with PE(10 -6 mol/L); part Ⅱ: before different concentrations of midazolam was added, the endothelium intact rings were pretreated with methylene blue(10 -5 mol/L) and the endothelium denuded rings were pretreated with verapamil(5?10 -6 mol/L) or teraethylammonium(TEA,5?10 -3 mol/L).Results The four concentrations of midazolam examined produced relaxation in both endothelium intact and denuded rings Relaxation of endothelium denuded rings was less than that of endothelium intact rings (P0 05) When pretreated with TEA, midazolam produced greater relaxation in endothelium denuded rings(P

Objective To understand the epidemiological characteristics of human brucellosis in Baotou City of Inner Mongolia from 2008 to 2011.Methods Datas were collected from surveillance and investigation of human brucellosis in Baotou City during 2008-2011,and analyzed by descriptive study and statistics methods, including the main outcome measures:incidence, time distribution, endemic distribution, occupation distribution, age and sex distribution. Results About 2 338 cases were reported during the 4 years, the average annual incidence rate was 25.52/one hundred thousand, the annual incidence rate was in the range of 5.37/one hundred thousand to 38.65/one hundred thousand, and the incidence rate was rising year by year. The incidence mainly concentrated from April to August, and total reported cases were 1 423,accounting for 60.86%(1 423/2 338).Damaoqi and Guyangxian were regions with high prevalence rate of human brucellosis, and total reported cases were 1 652,accounting for 70.66%(1 652/2 338).The incidence of farmers was higher, accounting for 75.53% (1 766/2 338).The 31-60 years old group had the highest incidence, accounting for 75.02%(1 754/2 338).The incidence of male was higher than that of female, male accounted for 75.19% (1 758/2 338).Conclusions The infection of human brucellosis in Baotou City shows an increasing trend and widening scope. The incidence of human brucellosis has significant seasonal, regional, gender and age differences.

Chinese Circulation Journal 2015;30(5):442-445
Objective: To investigate the relationship between blood level of Galectin-3 and the severity of coronary lesions in patients with coronary artery disease (CAD). Methods: A total of 158 consecutive subjects received coronary artery angiography (CAG) in Yantai Yu huangding hospital were studied and they were divided into 2 groups: Control group,n=38 individuals with normal coronary artery, CAD group,n=120 patients with at least 1 coronary branch stenosis ≥ 50%. CAD group was further divided into 2 sets of subgroups:①By the number of branches involved, as Single vessel disease, n=42, Double vessels disease including LM,n=40 and Triple vessel disease,n=38.②By the quartile of Gensini score as 1st quartile group, the patients with Gensini score ≤ 18.5, 2nd quartile group,18.5 < Gensini score ≤ 45.0, 3rd quartile group, 45.0 < Gensini score ≤ 71.5 and 4th quartile group, Gensini score>71.5,n=30 in each subgroup. Blood levels of Galectin-3 were examined, and the severity of coronary lesions was evaluated by both branch numbers and Gensini score analysis. Results: Compared with Control group, the blood level of Galectin-3 was higher in CAD group,10.66 (5.81, 16.17) ng/ml vs 18.3(1.14, 2.52) ng/mlP<0.01; with the more branches of coronary lesions involved, the blood levels of Galectin-3 increased accordingly, all P <0.01. With the elevation of Gensini score, the levels of Galectin-3increased accordingly, except for the difference between the 3rd quartile group and 4th quartile group, all P <0.01.With adjusted other factors, blood levels of Galectin-3 were positively related to the number of coronary branchlesions (r =0.52, P <0.01) and Gensini score levels (r =0.17, P =0.04).Conclusion: Blood level of Galectin-3 is positively related to the severity of coronary lesions whichimplies that Galectin-3 may have potential detrimental effect on the occurrence and development of coronaryatherosclerosis.
