1.Effect of comprehensive schistosomiasis control strategy based on infection source control in Hanchuan City

Objective To evaluate the effect of comprehensive schistosomiasis control measures based on infection source control in Hanchuan City marshland and lake endemic regions . Methods The data of comprehensive schistosomiasis control in Hanchuan City from 2004 to 2013 were collected and the change trends of the Oncomelania hupensis snail status and the in?fection situation of human and livestock were analyzed to evaluate the control effect. Results After the implementation of the comprehensive measures the infection rates of residents and cattle decreased from 6.38%and 8.11%in 2004 to 0.16%and 0 in 2013 respectively. There were no acute schistosomiasis patients since 2007 no new infection cases since 2011 and no infected snails since 2012. Compared with 2004 the occurrence rate of frames with living snails and the average density of living snails decreased by 56.78%and 68.35% respectively but the snail area and susceptible area increased by 0.62%and 7.10% respec?tively. In 2013 all the 367 endemic villages in 26 townships reached the criteria of transmission controlled. Conclusions The comprehensive schistosomiasis control measures based on infection source control can control the schistosomiasis transmission effectively in marshland and lake endemic regions. When consolidating the achievement the snail area in inner embankment should be compressed to prevent the schistosome re?infection in human and livestock.
2.Evaluation of c-myc and CCNE2 amplification in breast cancer with quantitative multi-gene fluorescence in-situ hybridization.

OBJECTIVETo investigate c-myc and CCNE2 gene amplifications and their relationship in breast cancer.
METHODSSixty-six infiltrating ductal breast carcinomas with foci of ductal carcinoma in situ components collected from January 2005 to December 2007 were selected for tissue microarray and quantitative multi-gene FISH for c-myc and CCNE2 gene amplification, and the relationship with the clinicopathologic features was analyzed.
RESULTSOf the 66 cases, 18 (27.3%) showed c-myc amplification and 23 (34.8%) showed CCNE2 amplification. A strong correlation was found between c-myc and CCNE2 amplification (P < 0.01). The breast cancers showing c-myc and CCNE2 amplifications were all aneuploidy, and were HER2 positive (P < 0.05). Tumors with c-myc amplification also showed higher Ki-67 index (P < 0.05).
CONCLUSIONSC-myc and CCNE2 amplifications are common events in breast cancer, and they often coexist. C-myc and CCNE2 genes may play critical roles in the pathogenesis and development of breast cancer through unique and overlapping signaling pathways.

3.Effect of Ginkgo biloba extract on anticoagulation of 4 new oral anticoagulants

To explore the effect of Ginkgo biloba extract (GBE) on anticoagulation of 4 new oral anticoagulants (NOACs), dabigatran, apixaban, rivaroxaban and edoxaban in vitro, thrombin time (TT), prothrombin time (PT), activated partial thrombin time (APTT) and the activity of coagulation factor Xa (FXa) of rat plasma were measured at different concentrations of NOACs, GBE or NOACs combined with GBE, respectively. The results showed that TT, PT and APTT were prolonged with the increase of NOACs concentration in the range of 0-500 ng/mL; that except for TT of rivaroxaban, other results showed a good linear correlation with NOACs concentration (r2= 0.78-0.98); and that FXa activity decreased with increased concentration of FXa inhibitors (apixaban, rivaroxaban and edoxaban), with a good linear correlation with concentration of FXa inhibitors in the range of 0-250 ng/mL (r2= 0.85-0.94). GBE had no significant effect on TT, PT and APTT (P>0.05) in the concentration range of 0-500 μg/mL, but FXa activity had a positive linear correlation with GBE concentration (r2= 0.840 4). TT was prolonged with increasing GBE concentration when dabigatran was combined with GBE. When the above FXa inhibitors were combined with GBE, TT shortened and FXa activity increased with rising GBE concentration. There were no significant changes in PT and APTT (P>0.05) when NOACs were combined with GBE. The study results suggest that GBE may synergize with the anticoagulant activity of dabigatran and antagonize the anticoagulant activity of FXa inhibitors, possibly due to its role in increasing FXa activity.
4.Clinical analysis of skeletal malocclusion, axial inclination in patients with short root anomaly of the maxillary central incisors

Objective :
To investigate the prevalence and distribution of skeletal malocclusion and axial inclination of the maxillary central incisors in short root anomaly (SRA) patients in Kunming city, to provide some reference and guidance for SRA patients′ clinical diagnosis and treatment and prevention in SRA patients.
Methods:
A total of 1 000 cases were randomly selected from the CBCT database of patients admitted to the author′s hospital from January 2011 to July 2019, and a retrospective analysis was performed. A total of 27 patients with SRA were diagnosed (SRA group).The control group, consisted of 100 randomly selected patients from non-SRA patients. According to the clinical data and cephalometric data, skeletal malocclusion was divided into three subgroups: Class I skeletal malocclusion, Class II skeletal malocclusion and Class Ⅲ skeletal malocclusion. Additionally, the axial inclination of the central incisors was divided into three subgroups: the lingual inclination group, labial inclination group and normal inclination group. The two groups each according to sex, skeletal malocclusion and types of axial inclination of the maxillary central incisors were discussed.
Results :
The prevalence rate of SRA in the selected population was 2.7%, and the prevalence of SRA in females was 3.67% (21/572) , which was higher than that in males by 1.4% (6/428), and was significantly different between sexes (χ2=4.562, P=0.033). There was a significant difference between SRA patients and control group in terms of skeletal malocclusion (χ2=8.710, P=0.013). Class Ⅲ skeletal malocclusion was the main type of skeletal malocclusion in SRA. There was a significant difference between SRA patients and control group in terms of the axial inclination of the maxillary central incisors (χ2=16.75,P<0.001). Lingual inclination of the maxillary central incisors was the main type of axial inclination of the maxillary central incisors in SRA.
Conclusion
There is a certain correlation between class Ⅲ skeletal malocclusion and lingual inclination of the maxillary central incisors and SRA, and the root-crown ratio and root shape of these patients should be evaluated before orthodontics are implemented.
