Objective To study the in-vitro anti-tumor activities of physalin B (PhB) extracted from Physalis angulata L.. Methods Th e effect of PhB on the cell proliferation and the morphology changes of tumor cell strains HepG2 and SGC7901 was observed by methyl thiazolyl tetrazolium (MTT) assay and by phase contrast microscopy respectively, and the results were compared to positive control anti-cancer drug hydroxycamptothecine (HCTP) . Apoptosis of HepG2 and SGC7901 cells induced by PhB was determined by 4’ , 6-diamidino-2-phenylindole ( DAPI) staining method. Results MTT results showed that the growth of HepG2 and SGC7901 was significantly inhibited by PhB in dose-and time-dependent manner, and the inhibitory effect of high concentration of PhB was better than the positive control medicine HCTP. Phase contrast microscopy results showed that the cellular morphology was improved by PhB, which was accorded with the results showed by MTT assay. DAPI staining results showed that the apoptosis of HepG2 and SGC7901 was enhanced by PhB. Conclusion PhB extracted from Physalis pubescens L. exerts certain inhibitory effect on the proliferation of HepG2 and SGC7901 cells.

Objective The aim of this paper was to develop the Mobile Nutrition Order System based on the technology of hospital information system to adapt the nutrition and food security management model in the new situation, so that the unified informa-tization management of diet for patients could be implemented by the Department of Nutrition. Methods The Mobile Nutrition Order System, with the functions of information entry, nutrition recipe, order making and data transmission, could be constructed by the com-bination of technologies between informatization and digital order. Results The automation of nutrition order in hospital was a-chieved, and the nutrition recipe and nutritional therapy could be realized in hospital, the effect was very obvious. Conclusion Since the application of Mobile Nutrition Order System, the labor intensity of servers has been reduced, saving working hours effective-ly.Meanwhile, the management of nutritional therapy was improved and the quality of logistics services in hospital and nutritional ther-apy ascend to a new high.

[Objective] To analyse the constituents of Viscum ovalifolium DC. [Methods] The chemical constituents of Viscum ovalifolium DC were isolated by silica gel column chromatography, purified by crystallization and identified by spectroscopy method. [Results] Lupeol acetate, ?-amyrin and oleanolic acid were isolated and identified. [Conclusion] Lupeol acetate, ?-amyrin and oleanolic acid are isolated from Viscum ovalifolium DC for the first time.

The prognosis is very poor for the patients with advanced esophageal cancer proved by explored operation.There was not concurrent for the value of radiotherapy after explored operation.A series of 104 patients with explored operation alone and 155 patients with radiotherapy before or after explored operation were analyzed to evaluation the value of postoperetive radiotherapy. The results showed: (1) Postoperative radiotherapy was effective for the patients with advanced esophageal cancer after explored operation.The average survival/mean survival and 1～5 years survival were higher in the patients with postoperative radiotherapy than in those of operation alone. Objective To study the sub chronic toxicity of silver nanoparticles on medaka.Methods Adult fish were divided into silve nenopartides and control group.Animals were collected on 14 days after exposure, and some toxicological endpoints such as death rate, tissue distributed of silver irons, oxidative stress and histopathological damage were measured.Results There were significant difference in death rate of medaka treated with silver nanoparticles and control group.Compared with the control group, the content of silver in gill, intestine and liver of medaka treated with silver nanoparticles were increased significantly.Compared with control group, the activity of LDH in liver and SOD in liver and gill were significantly decreased(P<0.01).The content of MDA in liver of medaka treated with silver nanoparticles was significantly increased(P<0.01).The liver and gill of mekada treated with silver nanoparticles were damaged, compared with control group.Conclusion Nano silver has a certain subchronic toxicity to aquatic life.

Objective To explore the development regularities and characteristics of child and adoles-cent body composition in Dalian,to provide scientific basis for their healthy growth and basic evidence for nutri-tional status and healthcare,and to accumulate dynamic date for evaluation of children's growth and development in the future.Methods Two primary schools、two secondary schools and one high school in Dalian were en-rolled,where four classes were taken from each grade,and 2 027students aged from 6-18 years were systematical-ly collected.The collected students were given height and weight tests,and body composition was examined with bioelectrical impedance analysis.Overweight and obesity were determined by body fat percent.Results (1 ) Height,weight,body fat percent,fat mass,lean body mass,muscles,bone mass,BMI and basal metabolism rate of the students increased from 6-18 years in Dalian,and the growth curves of boys and girls appear rising tenden-cy,while the percentage of total body water decreased.(2)The muscles,lean body mass and basal metabolism rate were obvious sex differences among all the age groups,and the others were sex difference in part of age. Body fat percent and fat mass of girls were greater than those of boys,while the other indexes of boys were grea-ter.(3)The obesity rate of girls in Dalian was 35.7%,while the boys'was 16.7%.Conclusion (1 )The find-ings were consistent with the growth characteristics of adolescent boys and girls aged 6-18 years in Dalian.(2) The muscles,lean body mass and basal metabolism rate were obvious sex differences among all the age groups, and the others were sex difference in part of age.(3)The obesity rate of students in Dalian was higher than the government standard.

Objective To study the effect of cumulus cell apoptosis on the structure of human oocyte cultured in vitro and to probe into the reason why cumulus cell apoptosis rate can be used clinically to predict the developmental potential of oocyte. Methods Cumulus-enclosed oocyte complexes (COCs) at the GV stage were cultured in vitro. The apoptosis rate of cumulus cells for every COC was evaluated with HE staining, DAPI staining and TUNEL labeling methods. Oocytes were divided into two groups according to their cumulus cell apoptosis rate. Structure of oocytes was observed under light microscope and transmission electron microscope. Mature oocytes at MⅡ stage were fertilized and cultured in vitro for two days. Then the embryos were evaluated according to their morphology under light microscope.Results The oocytes with low cumulus cell apoptosis rate had a normal structure and a promising developmental potential, while the oocytes with high cumulus cell apoptosis rate had deformed structures and a poor developmental potential. Some deformed oocytes had uneven perivitelline space. For oocytes with a small perivitelline space, the organelle development was slow compared with those with a large perivitelline space. Some had unevenly piled organelles. Secondary lysosomes and large space probably caused by the decopmounding of lysosomes were found in the ooplasm of these oocytes. The deformed oocytes appeared to have lots of swollen mitochondria with blurred cristae and membrane. Some of these oocytes had fractured first polar bodies and abnormally thick or thin zona pellucida. The cell junctions and microvilli of cumulus cells reduced as well. Conclusion The effect of cumulus cell apoptosis on the structure of oocyte cultured in vitro was revealed. The reason why cumulus cell apoptosis rate prognosticated the developmental potential of oocyte was demonstrated in the aspect of oocyte structure.

Objective Abstract:Objective To explore the effects of arsernic trioxide(As2O3) on telomerase activity and cellular apoptosis of human colon cancer cell line CCL-187.Methods CCL-187 cells were divided into control group,1.0 ?mol?L-1As2O3 group and 2.5 ?mol?L-1As2O3 group,all groups were cultivated for 1 to 6 d.The inhitory rate of cell growth was detected by MTT assay.The morphologic changes of CCL-187 cells were observed under electron microscope.The expression of hTERT at mRNA level was analyzed by RT-PCR.Telomerase activity was determined by TRAP-PCR-ELISA.Results The differentiation of cells was found in 1.0 ?mol?L-1 As2O3 group,but apoptosis in 2.5 ?mol?L-1 As2O3 group,and at the same time,the telomerase activity was reduced and the hTERT-mRNA expression was downregulate in 1.0 ?mol?L-1 As2O3 group and 2.5 ?mol?L-1 As2O3 group in a time-dependent manner.There were significant differences compated with control group(P

Objective To investigate advantages and disadvantages of endoscopic thyroidectomy.Methods A total of 61 consecutive patients with thyroid diseases from December 2003 to August 2004 in this hospital were freely divided into two groups: the Endoscopic Group(30 patients) and the Open Group(31 patients).The operating time,blood loss,hospital stay,postoperative pain assessment,jugular sensation 3 months after operation, swallowing function,and cosmetic outcomes between the two groups were compared.Results The operating time in the Open Group was significantly shorter than that in the Endoscopic Group(78?34 min vs 126?53 min;t=4.125,P=0.000).The intraoperative blood loss was less in the Endoscopic Group(20?13 ml) than in the Open Group(34?19 ml)(t=-3.313,P=0.002).The postoperative pain in the Endoscopic Group was slighter than that in the Open Group 24 and 48 hours after operation(t=3.255,P=0.002;t=-2.598,P=0.012).Three months after operation,jugular hypesthesia and discomfort at swallowing occurred in 1 and 2 patients in the Endoscopic Group,respectively,whereas jugular hypesthesia or paresthesia occurred in 11 patients(?~2=10.594,P=0.001) and discomfort at swallowing happened in 9 patients((?~2=5.773),P=0.016) in the Open Group.All patients in the Endoscopic Group were satisfied with the cosmetic results,but 19 patients in the Open Group complained of unsatisfactory cosmetic outcomes(?~2=52.141,P=0.000).Conclusions Endoscopic thyroidectomy gives little blood loss,mild postoperative pain,and good cosmetic results,being a feasible and safe procedure.
