This paper discusses mainly about the connotation of university student culture, describing its features such as elevation, sensitiveness, richness, leading, creativeness, selectiveness, unity, absorption, spreding, etc. The article analyzes that the culture has the function of direction, spiritual education, promotion of knowledge acquisition and ability development, satisfaction, adaptation, stimulation, surmounting and internal digestion,maintaining and that it is a bridge between the society and university students, a miniature of the future culture and a propagator of the culture transformation and it can provide the society with livelinese and regulate campus culture. The paper also suggests the necessity to establish the goal of university student culture and to strengthen its construction, particularly in the aspect of developing sense of modemization in university students.

A survey was made in Chongqing Medical University on the cultural qualities of teachers of basic courses,their humanity and social knowledge,as well as the role these things have played in students' quality education.The analysis has showed that the cultural qualities of the teachers have been improved in the recent years,while there was still a gap from the requirements of cultivating students' cultural qualities.The survey suggests that it require great attention and constant efforts to improve the teachers' cultural qualities.
