Objective To study the effect of ecdysterone (EDS) on rabbits chondrocytes that is injuried by lipopolysac?charide (LPS). Methods Aricular chondrocytes were isolated from rabbits and randomly divided into three groups:control group;chondrocytes with LPS induced injury (LPS group);injury chondrocytes treated with EDS (LPS+EDS group). The cell proliferation and cell apoptosis of chondrocytes were determined by MTT method and flow cytometry assay respectively. The mRNA and protein expression levels of inducible nitric oxide synthase (iNOS) were detected by RT-PCR and western blot. In addition, the content of NO and IL-1βwere measured by nitric acid reductase assay and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) respectively. Results Attenuated proliferation, increased cell apoptosis, iNOS, NO and IL-1βwere seen in LPS group , but all these changes were significantly reversed by EDS treatment (P<0.05). Conclusion Ecdysterone exhib?ited a protective effect on LPS induced rabbits chondrocytes injury through inhibiting the expression of iNOS.

Objective The purpose of this study was to prepare RGD4C modified ferritin nanocages (RGD4C-FRT) for targeted drug delivery to rat hepatic stellate cells (HSC-T6). Methods RGD4C modified human H-chain ferritin was expressed and purified. Doxorubicin (Dox) was encapsulated into the cavity of RGD4C-FRT through ion channels, which resulted in RGD4C-FRT-Dox. The target of RGD4C-FRT-Dox to HSC-T6 was detected using fluorescence microscopy. Results Transmission electron microscopy showed that RGD4C-FRT was hollow spherical-structured with uniform size and good dispersion. The average particle diameters of RGD4C-FRT and RGD4C-FRT-Dox were 12.57 nm and 20.13 nm , respectively. The drug encapsulation efficiency and loading percentage of RGD4C-FRT-Dox were 77.32% and 15.88% respectively. RGD4C-FRT-Dox was significantly uptaken by HSC-T6, and the uptake could be blocked by the empty carrier RGD4C-FRT. Conclusion RGD4C-FRT-Dox can specifically target HSC-T6. Further animal experiments are needed to inspect its therapeutic effect on liver fibrosis.

OBJECTIVETo explore the impact of measurement error on the associated effects under the incorrectly-measured variables when mixed with precisely measured variables.
METHODSBased on the functions of measurement error, correlation of incorrectly-measured predictors and precisely measured explanatory variables, number of precisely measured explanatory variables and associated effect, the 'R Project for Statistical Computing' method is used to analyze the impact of measurement on the validity of a study.
RESULTSUnder the scenario that the continuous response Y and the continuous explanatory Z are precisely measured but the continuous predictor X is incorrectly-measured, when focusing on inference about the effect of X on Y, the non-differential measurement error always makes the value of estimated effect less than the actual value, and the attenuation effect of measurement error more closely worsens the correlation of X and Z. Under a misclassification dichotomous predictor X with an additional precisely measured explanatory variable Z and focusing on inference about the effect of X on Y, the misclassification bias is not only related to the sensitivity and specificity of exposure measurement, but also to the correlation between X and Z and exposure proportion of X. The attenuation factor (AF) decreases gradually with the increasing correlation between X and Z. For instance, in the p = 0.5 scenario, AF is 1.419, and the estimated effect of dichotomous predictor X on continuous response Y is more than the actual effect. When it increases to 0.9, AF is 0.474, the estimated effect becomes less than the true effect.
CONCLUSIONIn the studies of the impact of measurement error in linear regression with additional precisely measured explanatory variables, the impact of measurement error on the associated effect is relatively complex, suggesting that it is necessary to control and to assess the measurement error bias in order to correctly interpret the results of a study.

Chinese Acupuncture & Moxibustion 2011;31(5):405-408
OBJECTIVETo compare the therapeutic effects of routine acupuncture, the electroacupuncture and the combined therapy of electroacupuncture and acupoint injection.
METHODSNinety-one cases were randomly divided into a routine acupuncture group (30 cases), an electroacupuncture group (31 cases), and a combined therapy of electroacupuncture and acupoint injection group (30 cases). Zusanli (ST 36), Fengchi (GB 20), Anmian (Extra), Taiyang (EX-HN 5), Hegu (LI 4), Yintang (EX-HN 3), Baihui (GV 20) and Sishengcong (EX-HN 1) were selected among 3 groups. Even manipulation was applied in routine acupuncture group; G 6805 electroacupuncture apparatus was added in electroacupuncture group; in combined therapy of electroacupuncture and acupoint injection group, electroacupuncture was applied, besides, Vitamin B12 0.5 mg and 0.2%/ Lidocaine 2 mL were injected at Fengchi (GB 20) and Anmian (Extra). Twenty treatments were given in 4 weeks. The changes of average blood flow of vertebral artery and basilar artery before and after treatment were observed and graded by the cervical vertigo syndrome and function score; the therapeutic effects were evaluated as well.
RESULTSThe average blood flow of vertebral artery and basilar artery, and the cervical vertigo syndrome and function score were improved in 3 groups (all P < 0.01), in which, it was more obvious in combined therapy of electroacupuncture and acupoint injection group than in others (P < 0.05, P < 0.01), and it in electroacupuncture group was superior to that in routine acupuncture group (P < 0.05). The effective rate was 63.3% (19/30) in routine acupuncture group, 80.6% (25/31) in electroacupuncture group and 90.3% (28/30) in combined therapy of electroacupuncture and acupoint injection group, indicating the significant differences among them (P < 0.05, P < 0.01).
CONCLUSIONThe routine acupuncture, electroacupuncture, and combined therapy of electroacupuncture and acupoint injection are effective for cervical vertigo; the combined therapy is the best, and electroacupuncture comes second. It illustrates that the routine acupuncture, electroacupuncture, and combined therapy of electroacupuncture and acupoint injection have additive effects on treatment of cervical vertigo.
