Altogether 202 cases of cervical spondylosis were treated with traction first,followed by needling such points as Jiaji (Ex-B 2), Dazhui (GV 14), Fengfu (GV 16), Fengchi(GB 20), Baihui (GV 20), Yuzhen (BL 9), Houxi (SI 3) and Hegu (LI 4) with combination of point injection on Jiaji (Ex-B 2) points and TDP irradiation on the affected region. After three courses of treatment, the total effective rate reached 98.5%, among which those with types of cervical, nerve-root and vertebral artery took 1-2 courses, while those with types of spinal cord and sympathetic nerve took 2-3 courses.

With the development of medical innovation ability,the research output becomes more and more diversified.However,regarding to the indexes for evaluating the scientific research output,domestic scholars have variety of opinions.This article briefly introduces the commonly used research output indexes in China,including papers,monographs,patent and related achievements.Such outputs are divided into literature metrology index and Alternative metrics.Authors hope this attempt can establish a suitable evaluation index system of medical scientific research output in Fujian province.

Objective To evaluate the value of serum procalcitonin (PCT ) in the diagnosis of liver cirrhosis complicating sponta‐neous bacterial peritonitis (SBP) .Methods The patients with cirrhosis were divided into non‐SBP group and complicating SBP group according to whether complicating SBP ,and the patients with common hepatitis served as the control group .Serum expres‐sion levels of PCT ,CRP and IL‐6 were detected by electrocheniluminescence and Immunoturbidimetry methods .The receiver operat‐ing characteristic curve (ROC) curve was drawn for evaluating the diagnostic efficiency of each indicator .Results The levels of ser‐um PCT ,CRP and IL‐6 in the complicating SBP group were significantly higher than those in the non‐SBP group and control group , the differences were statistically significant (P<0 .01);The ROC curve analysis showed that the diagnostic value of PCT at the op‐timum threshold value of 0 .51 ng/mL for diagnosing cirrhosis complicating SBP was superior to CRP and IL‐6 ,the sensitivity of se‐rum PCT for diagnosing SBP in 3 groups was 62 .68% ,the specificity was 76 .59% and the accuracy was 80 .01% .Conclusion The serum PCT level has an important value for the early diagnosis of liver cirrhosis complicating SBP .

Objective To investigate the correlation among expression of serum VEGF without operation between pre-and post-chemoradiotherapy in non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) patients, to explore the correlation of markers on prognosis and effect. Methods The serum vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) were detected in 50 patients without operation between pre-and post-chemoradiotherapy with NSCLC by ELISA method. The group t-test was played into before concurrent chemoradiotherapy and normal control. The paired t-test was played into before and after concurrent chemoradiotherapy. Results The prechemoradiotherapy serum VEGF ( 241.09 ± 52.45 ) ng/L in NSCLC patients was significantly higher than those in normal control patients (103.72 ± 39. 22) ng/L (t = 2. 50,P ＜0. 05 ). The pre-chemoradiotherapy serum VEGF in NSCLC patients was closely related to pTNM stage, distant metastasis, grade of cell differentiation and the size of the primary tumors ( t = 9. 61 - 14. 94, all P ＜ 0. 05 ), but not to the histological classification, type of the tumor, lymph node status, age, gender of the patients or smoking or not (t =0. 58 - 1.84, all P ＞ 0. 05 ). The pre-chemoradiotherapy serum VEGF ( 24 1.09 ± 52. 45 ) ng/L was significantly higher than that of the post-chemoradiotherapy ( 133.64 ± 33.62) ng/L ( t = 12. 20, P ＜ 0. 01 ). The post-chemoradiotherapy serum VEGF decreases to the pre-was the biggest in the CR patients (( 92.35 ± 37.48ng/L) ,t =3.79,P ＜0. 01 ) ,the smallest in the PA patients ( (276.32 ±47.98) ng/L,t = 1.32,P ＞0. 05) ) ,and bigger in the PR patients and the NC patientspatients ( ( 113.10 ± 39. 20) ng/L,t = 13.58,P ＜0. 01 and ( 198.10 ± 42.68 ) ng/L, t = 4. 78, P ＜ 0. 05 ) ), respectively. Conclusions Elevation of serum VEGF exists in patients with NSCLC . The serum VEGF in patients with NSCLC might be helpful to evaluate the biological behavior of lung cancer. Detection of VEGF expression maybe helpful for predicting the prognosis of NSCLC patients.

Objective To investigate the efficacy and side-effect of docetaxel and cisplatin induction chemotherapy followed by concurrent chemoradiotherapy in locally advanced non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC).MethodsEighty-six patients with histologically confirmed locally advanced NSCLC were randomized into induction chemotherapy followed by concurrent chemoradiotherapy (ICCRT)arm or concurrent chemoradiotherapy (CCRT) arm. Both arms were treated with intensity-modulated radiation therapy. Induction and concurrent chemotherapy regimen consist of docetaxel and cisplatin. Results Follow-up rate of the whole group is 100％.The response rate in the CCRT arm and ICCRT arm is 70％ and 80％ ( χ2 =1.26,P =0.261 ),respectively; and 1-,2-,3-year survival rate is 65％ and 85％,40％ and 50％,33％ and 44％ (χ2 =3.90,P=0.048),respectively; the median survival time and time to progression is 17.5 and 22.0 months and 14.0 and 19.0 months respectively.Major adverse effects are leukopenia (43 and 32 cases,χ2 =3.48,P =0.062),radiation esophagutis (26 and 20 cases,χ2 =0.12,P =0.730),anemia (26 and 16 cases,χ2 =2.34,P =0.126) and radiation pneumonitis (13 and 9 cases,χ2 =0.37,P =0.541 ).ConclusionsICCRT for locally advanced NSCLC can improve the overall survival rate and time to progression,induction chemotherapy did not increase side-effects.There was no difference in response rate between CCRT and ICCRT arm.

Objective To evaluate combined effect on different population through 2 459 data of SAA,hs-CRP and PCT from 8 three-level hospitals in Guangdong region.Methods Subjects were divided into five groups by ages,and every group had bacterial and virus type.In order to confirm diagnostic effect on infection,methods were performed including in tendency of SAA and hs-CRP,Paired t test between bacterial and virus group,efficiency of 3 indexes in judging infection depending on ROC and parameters,multiple logistic regression,consistency between positive bacterial infection and bacterial culture.Re-sults There were statistically significant differences in SAA and hs-CRP between bacterial and virus in infants and children (P <0.001).SAA had the biggest AUC area 0.824 with sensibility 71.8% and specificity 82.6% in younger group.Corre-sponding,hs-CRP had the biggest area 0.806 with sensibility 84%.There was the accuracy of 78.8% for differential diagno-sis in younger group,while 65.1% in elder group.AUC of SAA was 0.883 for positive bacterial culture with sensibility 71.2% and specificity 90.7%,accuracy of 95.2% for differential diagnosis.Conclusion There was obvious trend of age in SAA and hs-CRP,3 indexes could be used for differential diagnosis alone or combined,especially in younger group.SAA is the best index as a separated index.There is less value at ratio of SAA and hs-CRP.

Objective To explore the relationship between the typing of MSCT and prognosis in infant with interstitial pneumonia (IP).Methods MSCT features of 44 infants with IP were analyzed retrospectively and classified according to the pathological pro-gress.The relationship between the MSCT typing and clinical prognosis was statistically analyzed.Results The result of the MSCT typing was as follows:the exudation in 22 cases,the proliferation in 18 cases and the ruin in 4 cases.There was significant difference for the clinical prognosis among the different MSCT groups (P＜0.01 ).And there was a significant correlation between the MSCT typing and clinical prognosis (r＝0.784,P＜0.01).The prognosis of the exudation type was better than the proliferation type,and both of them were better than the ruin type.Conclusion Based on the MSCT features,MSCT typing reveals the inflammatory patho-logical process of the infant IP,which plays an important role in treatment options decision and prognosis prediction.

Objective: To investigate the prevalence and related factors of osteoporosis among retired population in Dongfeng-Tongji cohort. Methods: 27 009 retired participants were recruited from Dongfeng Motor Corporation in Hubei Province in 2008 and followed up from April to October in 2013. newly retired participants also were recruited. Data were collected by using questionnaire, physical examination, serum hepatase detection and bone densitometry. Totally, 30 916 participants were included for data analysis after excluding participants with severe bone metabolic diseases, taking hormone drugs, incomplete follow-up data and who were under 45 years old. Age-standardized prevalence of osteoporosis was calculated according to data of the 2010 Sixth National Population Census. Multivariate logistic regression analysis was applied to explore the associated factors of osteoporosis. Results: Prevalence of osteoporosis was 42.3% (13 083/30 916) and age standardized prevalence was 40.7%: 35.0% (4 854/13 878) and 34.8% for males; 48.3% (8 229/17 038) and 47.1% for females. Significantly associated factors with osteoporosis for both males and females included: older age (male: OR=1.67, 95%CI: 1.40-1.99; female:OR=3.34, 95%CI: 2.70-4.13), lower BMI (male: OR=1.70, 95%CI: 1.40-2.06; female: OR=1.27, 95%CI: 1.04-1.53), exercise (male: OR=0.69, 95%CI: 0.61-0.78; female: OR=0.87, 95%CI: 0.80-0.96), abnormal elevated serum alkaline phosphatase (ALP) (male: OR=1.12, 95%CI: 1.01-1.24; female: OR=1.15, 95%CI: 1.06-1.25), γ-glutamyltransferase (γ-GT) (male: OR=1.16, 95%CI: 1.02-1.30; female: OR=1.13, 95%CI: 1.03-1.24) and aspartate transaminase/alanine aminotransferase (AST/ALT) (male: OR=1.15, 95%CI: 1.05-1.25; female: OR=1.28, 95%CI: 1.19-1.38). Smoking (OR=1.27, 95%CI: 1.07-1.39) and drinking (OR=1.11, 95%CI: 1.08-1.16) were associated factors for males while menopausal (OR=1.67, 95%CI: 1.47-1.89) for females. There were positive dose-response correlation relationships of serum levels of ALP, γ-GT and AST/ALT with osteoporosis (all P values<0.05). Conclusion Osteoporosis was relatively common among retired population in Dongfeng-Tongji cohort. In addition to known factors such as older age, lower BMI and exercise, abnormal elevated serum ALP, γ-GT and AST/ALT were also associated with osteoporosis.
