1.Progress in the basic and clinical studies of malignant tumor thermoradiatherapy
Journal of International Oncology 2009;36(7):512-515
Thermotherapy is one of the combined therapies of malignant tumor. It can enhance the sen-sitivity to radiotherapy by inhibiting cell DNA repair, changing cell signaling, modulating cell cycle checkpoint and inhibiting tumor cell metastasis. Many clinical trials have also confirmed that the combination of thermother-apy and radiotherapy can enhance the curative effect of head and neck, ventrum and pelvic malignant tumor. In this article, the synergistic effects and mechanism of tumor thermoradiotherapy are reviewed.

Objective To investigate mut-slice spiral CT(MSCT) and MRI features and correlated pathological basis of stasis cirrhosis. Methods MSCT and MRI findings of 35 patients with stasis cirrhosis (study group) and 35 patients with posthepatitic cirrhosis (control group) were studied retrospectively. Volume index of liver and spleen, caliber of hepatic vein and the number of regenerative nodules exceeded 5mm in diameter were measured. The contrast-enhanced patterns of liver parenchyma, contrast medium reflux, ascites, the number of varices and correlated abnormalities were reviewed. Results The volume indexes of liver and spleen, calibers of hepatic vein were (4434.95±1283.08) cm~3,(621.92±400.33) cm~3 and (3.61±0.81) cm in the study group,(2569.73±853.06) cm~3,(1275.61±727.51) cm~3 and (1.92±0.46) cm in the control group, respectively. The number of the patients showed waves of borderline, inhomogeneous pattern of parenchymal contrast enhancement, regenerative nodules exceeded 5mm in diameter, contrast medium reflux, varices and ascites were 5, 29, 17, 20, 16 and 6 cases in the study group,29,0,5,0,35 and 26 cases in the control group, respectively, there were statistic differences between the study group and control group(P<0.05).Conclusion MSCT and MRI play a invaluable role in the diagnosis and differential diagnosis and etiological diagnosis of stasis cirrhosis.

ObjectiveTo observe the effect of the combined therapy of ginkgo-dipyridimolum and mecobalamin for diabetic peripheral neuropathy (DPN).MethodsA total of 102 DPN cases were randomly divided into treatment group(n =50) and control group(n =52).The treatment group was given ginkgo-dipyridimolum and mecobalamin, and the control group was given only mecobalamin for 4 weeks. We observed the change of symptom and sign of both groups before and after treatment, and the MNCV and SNCV of median nerve, ulnar nerve and peroneal nerve were detected.ResultsIn the treatment group, the improvement of DPN symptoms (x2 = 10.090, P < 0.01) and nervous conducting speed were much more obvious than that in the control group(MNCV of median nerve, ulnar nerve and peroneal nerve was(49.12 ± 3.32) m/s, (52.11 ± 3.12) m/s and(47.32 ± 3.21) m/s respectively; SNCV of median nerve, ulnar nerve and peroneal nerve was(47.13 ± 2.56) m/s, (55.12 ± 2.31) m/s, (46.78 ± 2.66) m/s respectively, all P <0.05).ConclusionThe combined therapy of ginkgo-dipyridimolum and mecobalamin could effectively improve the therapeutic outcome of DPN, and the treatment was safe and worthy of widespread use.

Objective To observe the relationship between degree of venous injury and the indwelling time by injection of chemotherapy drugs with intravenous catheter system. Methods Totally 43 New Zealand rabbits were selected as the study sample. Among them, three rabbits were chosen by lot as a blank control, the others were evenly divided into two groups randomly. The veins at the edges of the two ears were taken out as the tested blood vessels for the infusion with intravenous catheter system. The two groups were injected respectively with physiological saline and chemotherapy drugs once daily, and then blocked with heparin salt water. After intraperitoneal anaesthesia, pathological sections were prepared by taking live samples from the ear vein where intravenous catheter system puncturing on the 2nd, 4th, 6th,8th and 10th day of transfusion. And inflammation and thrombosis in the vein had been observed under the light microscope. Results In the same indwelling time, the inflammatory response of the two groups was compared: no difference on the 2nd day; difference was seen on the 4th、6th and 8th day; but again no difference on the 10th day. Thrombosis compared: no difference on the 2nd, 4th day, but difference was seen on the 6th, 8th and 10th day. Conclusions Chemotherapy drugs has a strong irritant on blood vessels. The indwelling time should not be too long, generally advisable 2 days, even if no abnormal response is observed locally by the naked eye.

Objective To understand the prevalence and epidemiological features of clonorchiasis sinensis based on inpa-tients in Zhongshan City. Methods All of the 23 town hospitals in Zhongshan City were selected as the surveillance hospitals in 2016. Among the inpatients from those hospitals, those lived in the city longer than 6 months were selected as the surveillance subjects. The stool specimens of the subjects were collected and examined by the modified Kato-Katz thick smear method for the eggs of Clonorchis sinensis. The crude infection rates of C. sinensis of the subjects were standardized according to the age and sex compositions of the population in Zhongshan City,2016. Meanwhile, the infection rates of the subjects from different towns and those combined with related clinical diseases were analyzed. Results A total of 2667 people were included in the surveil-lance,among which 219 were tested as positives, with a crude infection rate of 8.21%. For the positives, the male accounted for 81.74%(179/219),and their age ranged from 4 to 89 years with the mean value of(62.20±13.80)years. After standardization by age and sex composition, the infection rate was 3.62%for the whole population, the rates of the male and the female were 5.46%and 1.53%,respectively,and the former was 3.57 times as high as the latter. Both the infection rates of the male and the female rose as the age increasing(χ2 male=99.91,χ2 female=16.51,both P<0.01). The standardized infection rates among the subjects in different towns ranged from 0 to 10.40%,and the rates in the north towns were higher than those in the south towns. The standardized rate was 9.22%for the subjects combined with gallstone,3.40%for those not combined with gallstone, and the former was 2.71 times as high as that of the latter. Conclusion The people aged 30 years and above, with gallstone or living in towns with high C. sinensis infection rates are the key population for prevention and control of clonorchiasis in Zhongshan City.

Chinese Journal of Endocrinology and Metabolism 2011;27(7):584-585
The effect of nateglinide or sequential treatment with metformin on glycemic stability in newly diagnosed type 2 diabetes was investigated. Thirty-four cases of newly diagnosed type 2 diabetes received nateglinide therapy, or sequential treatment with metformin according to fasting and postprandial blood glucose, and were classified into isolated nateglinide therapy group(n=14) and sequentially treated with metformin group(n=20). Glycemic stability, reflected by mean amplitude of glycemic excursions(MAGE) and HbA1C, was determined in all patients before and after therapy for three months. HbA1C and MAGE in two groups were all improved after treatment(P<0.05). The therapy of nateglinide alone or combined with metformin can significantly improve glycemic stability in newly diagnosed type 2 diabetes.
