Objective To discuss the effect of self- care education at the early time of postoperation and the use of nursing packages during the later period on non- throat patients. Methods 40 patients having un-dergone total laryngectomy were divided into the control group and the experimental group according to the surgery date with 20 cases in each group. The control group received conventional nursing, while the experi-mental group was given the system intervention by specialized nurses. The intervention content included self-care education at the early time of postoperation and the use of nursing packages during the later period. The questionnaire survey was carried out 15 days and 3 months after operation. The coping style,self-care ability and survival quality were compared between the two groups. Results The comparison of coping style showed re-markable difference in the two groups. The comparison of self- care ability and level of health knowledge showed significant difference 15 days after operation except two other items, but the four items demonstrated significant difference 3 months after operation. Difference also existed in the total scorn of survival quality. Conclusions Early system serf- care education after operation and the use of nursing package during the later period can impel the patients to cope positively, enhance self-care ability and survival quality.

Objective To investigate the expression of SOX4 and C/EBPα mRNA in chronic myeloid leukemia (CML) and their clinical significances. Methods Bone marrow samples from 68 cases of CML including 57 newly diagnosed patients and 11 patients treated with imatinib were collected, and peripheral blood mononuclear cells from 30 healthy people were collected as healthy control. The expression of SOX4 and C/EBPαmRNA and protein levels were detected by RT-PCR and Western blot, respectively. The relations between the expression of SOX4 and C/EBPα and the influences of imatinib on SOX4 and C/EBPα were analyzed. Results The expression level of SOX4 mRNA was increased in newly diagnosed CML patients compared with that of normal control group (6.545 5±1.495 2 vs. 0.059 6±0.018 8, t=3.139, P=0.002 3), but the expression level of C/EBPαmRNA was significantly decreased (0.238 8±0.033 8 vs. 0.810 5±0.056 2, t=9.240, P<0.000 1). The expression levels of SOX4 and C/EBPαmRNA had no significant correlation with age, gender, white blood cell count (WBC) and bcr-abl of newly diagnosed patients (all P>0.05). The expression level of SOX4 mRNA in 5 patients treated with imatinib was decreased (0.120 6 ±0.044 9 vs. 0.557 9±0.144 8, t=2.885, P=0.020 4), and the expression level of C/EBPαmRNA was increased (0.330 3±0.042 4 vs. 0.150 5±0.046 5, t=2.855, P=0.021 3). The expression level of SOX4 mRNA in 6 patients who developed blast phase during the treatment of imatinib was increased (0.469 9±0.123 0 vs. 0.050 2±0.036 6, t=2.370, P=0.039 3), and the expression level of C/EBPα mRNA was decreased (0.197 9 ±0.064 7 vs. 0.378 7±0.042 9, t=2.327, P=0.042 3). The expression of SOX4 mRNA was negatively correlated with C/EBPα mRNA (t=-0.554 6, P=0.002 8). Conclusions In newly diagnosed CML, the expression level of SOX4 is increased, C/EBPα is decreased compared with that of healthy control, and both have negative correlation. In the patients in blast phase after imatinib treatment, SOX4 gene is up-regulated, and C/EBPα is down-regulated. C/EBPα-SOX4 axis may play a role in the occurrence and development of CML. SOX4 may be a new molecular target for the treatment of CML.

Objective: To study the effect of serum from maintenance hemodialysis(MHD) patients on the expression of intercellular adhesion molecule-1(ICAM-1) in human umbilical vein endothelial cells(HUVEC) cultured in vitro, and the mechanism of endothelial cells dysfunction caused by serum from MHD patients thereof. Methods: HUVEC were incubated for 1 h, 3 h, 6 h and 12 h in RPMI 1640 culture media containing 10 % fetal cattle serum(FCS )(group A), 10% normal human serum (group B) and 10% MHD patient serum (group C) respectively. The immunocytochemical method was used to determine the expression of ICAM-1. Results: There were significant differences in the expression of ICAM-1 in HUVEC among stimulation groups with different serums(P < 0.05). Compared with groups A and B, the expression of ICAM-1 was significantly increased in HUVEC of group C. There was significant difference in the expression of ICAM-1 at the different stimulation times(P < 0.05). There was significant interaction between the expression of ICAM-1 in HUVEC and stimulation groups with different serum and the stimulation times(P < 0.05). Conclusion: The serum from MHD patients with chronic renal failure can promote the expression of ICAM-1 in HUVEC cultured in vitro, thus causing the dysfunction of endothelial cell.

Objective To explore the effect of psychological intervention on first episode schizophrenia in quality of life and social function. Methods 120 inpatients with first episode schizophrenia were randomly divided into the observed group (60 cases) in which patients were treated with risperidone plus psychological intervention and the control group (60 cases) in which patients were treated with risperidone only. All patients had been treated for 8 weeks and followed up for 6 months after discharge. The assessments included the Positive and Negative Symptoms Scale(PANSS), WHO, QOL-100 and Social Disability Screening Schedule(SDSS) before the treatment and at the end of the follow-up.Results The scores of PANSS, SDSS and QOL-100 in both groups did not show significant difference before the treatment(P>0.05). At the end of follow-up, the total score, negative score and positive score of PANSS in the observed group were lower than that in the control group(P<0.01), while the total score of QOL-100, areas of mentality, dependence, social relation factor scores and the scores of SDSS in the observed group were higher than that in the control group(P<0.05 or P<0.01). Conclusion Psychological intervention can help to improve the symptom of first episode schizophrenia and enhance their quality of life and social function.

Objective: To observe the effect of acupuncture at points selected from different regions on the positive expression of interstitial cells of Cajal (ICC) and the stem cell factor (SCF) in gastric antrum tissues in diabetic gastroparesis (DGP) rats, and to explore the influence of region-based point selection on the acupoint combination efficacy. Methods: Sixty Sprague-Dawley (SD) rats were randomly divided into a normal group (group A), a model group (group B), a group of Zusanli (ST 36) plus Zhongwan (CV 12) (group C), a group of Zusanli (ST 36) plus Neiguan (PC 6) (group D), and a group of Zusanli (ST 36) plus non-meridian non-acupoint points (group E), based on the random number table (n=12). DGP rat model was established by single intraperitoneal injection of 2% streptozotocin and common diet. After successful modeling, the rats were treated once a day for 4 weeks. Positive ICC and SCF expressions were measured by immunohistochemistry. Results: Compared with group A, the gastrointestinal propulsion rate of group B showed a statistically significant decrease (P<0.05). Compared with group B, the gastrointestinal propulsion rate and the expression of ICC in the gastric antrum were significantly higher in group C, group D and group E, and the between-group differences were statistically significant (P<0.05); the expression of C-kit protein in group C was statistically significantly higher than that in group D and group E (P<0.05). The expression of SCF protein was significantly increased in group C than in group B, and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). Conclusion: Acupuncture can improve the symptoms of delayed gastric emptying in DGP model rats, and regulate the expression of ICC and SCF in gastric antrum tissues. The effect of Zusanli (ST 36) plus Zhongwan (CV 12) in the gastric region is superior to that of the Zusanli (ST 36) plus distal Neiguan (PC 6) or non-meridian non-acupoint point, indicating that region-based point selection is the key factor affecting the effect of acupoint combination.

Objective:To explore the relationships among perceived social constraints, social participation, as well as anxiety and depression in first stroke patients, and to further analyze the mediating effect of social participation on these variables. Methods:A total of 216 first stroke patients in the Department of Neurology of Affiliated Hospital of Qingdao University from April to December 2020 were recruited by convenience sampling and investigated by general information questionnaire, Social Constraints Scale (SCS), Chinese version of Impact on Participation and Autonomy Questionaire (IPA-C) and Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale (HADS).Results:The total score of SCS, IPA-C, depression and anxiety were 33.49 ± 6.81, 43.42 ± 9.62, 8.05 ± 4.15 and 8.61 ± 2.59. Social constraints were positively correlated with social participation as well as anxiety ( r=0.644, 0.383, both P<0.05). Social constraints were positively correlated with social participation as well as depression ( r=0.482, 0.371, both P<0.05). The quality of social participation partially mediated the relationship between social constraints and anxiety (intermediary effect was 0.119), and also partially mediated the relationship between social constraints and depression (intermediary effect was 0.270). Conclusions:First stroke patients experience high level of social constraints, low quality of social participation and severe anxiety and depression. Social constraints can affect anxiety and depression through social participation. Medical staff should build a good environment to meet the needs of stroke patients of social participation, help patients to establish a correct psychological coping style, reduce patients' avoidance of social participation due to perceived constraints and exclusion, and thus promote the mental health of patients.
