This study was aimed to observe curative effect of periarthritis of shoulder with activating brain and re-gaining consciousness acupuncture method combined with surrounding needling acupuncture on shoulder joint. A to-tal of 120 patients were randomly divided into the treatment group (60 cases) and the control group (60 cases) on the basis of routine internal medicine treatment and rehabilitation exercises. Cases in the control group received conven-tional acupuncture treatment. And cases in the treatment group received activating brain and regaining conscious-ness acupuncture method combined with surrounding needling acupuncture on shoulder joint. The treatment course was 28 days. And then, the curative effect evaluation was conducted. The results showed that the effective rate was 73.33% in the control group and 93.34% in the treatment group. There was statistical significance on effective rate between both groups(P< 0.05). It was concluded that the activating brain and regaining consciousness acupuncture method combined with surrounding needling acupuncture on shoulder joint had significant curative effects for peri-arthritis of shoulder. This treatment method is worthy of further popularization and application.
2.Umbilical cord-derived mesenchymal stem cell culture:dyeing and tracer technique

The culture of umbilical cord-derived mesenchymal stem cells is extremely important for studies on umbilical cord mesenchymal stem cells. Optimization of cellculture technology is crucial for clinical application of mesenchymal stem cells and even celltherapy. Meanwhile, the labeling and tracer technique of umbilical cord-derived mesenchymal stem cells is a hotspot in stem celltransplantation. OBJECTIVE:To review the research and development of the cellmarkers and tracer methods of umbilical cord-derived mesenchymal stem cells. METHODS:A computer-based search of VIP, CNKI, Medline, Highwire and Foreign Journals Integration System databases was performed for articles concerning culture and labeling of umbilical cord-derived mesenchymal stem cells published from January 2001 to October 2013. The keywords were“stem cells, mesenchymal stem cells, umbilical cord-derived mesenchymalstem cells, cellculture, labeling methods”in Chinese and English, respectively. Final y, 35 articles were included in result analysis. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:Umbilical cord-derived mesenchymal stem cells have not yet been widely used, mainly because of the immature isolation, culture and staining techniques of umbilical cord-derived mesenchymal stem cells. These techniques are worthy of further optimization studies. Although in recent years, cellmarkers and tracer technology of umbilical cord-derived mesenchymal stem cell s have made great progress, there are stil many problems need to be solved.
3.An investigation on knowledge of control and prevention for chronic obstructive pulmonary diseases among general practitioner in community health service centers

Objective To understand awareness of basic knowledge on control and prevention for chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) among general practitioner in community health service centers. Methods Questionnaire survey was conducted among 593 general practitioners at 15 community health service centers in a district of Shanghai in the morning of February 26, 2008. Results Five hundred and forty-two of 593 ( 91.4% ) general practitioners surveyed knew that chronic obstructive pulmonary disease can be abbreviated as COPD, and 315 of them (53.1%) thought they knew the main contents of the "Guidelines for Prevention and Control of Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease". No pulmonary function instrument was equipped at all 15 community health service centers surveyed, and 501 of 593 ( 84.5% ) general practitioners knew spirometry is gold standard for diagnosis of COPD. Only 115 ( 19.4% ) general practitioners knew that COPD can be categorized as acute exacerbation and stable stage. One hundred and sixty-three of them (27.5%) knew that drug therapy should be maintained in COPD patients for long term following effective treatment, 328 (55.3%) recognized that treatment for COPD patients was still needed in their stable stage, and 312 (52.6%) believed that antibiotics may not be necessary and 465 (78.4%) thought that inhalation therapy was the choice of treatment for acute exacerbation of COPD. Two hundred and thirty-five of them (39.6%) knew that oxygen inhalation should be more than 15 hours per day in regular family therapy. The investigation showed that 365 (61.6%) general practitioners had participated in training for COPD-related knowledge, only one or two times a year. Awareness of COPD knowledge was significantly poorer in rural practitioners than that in urban community ones. Conclusions Basic knowledge of prevention and treatment for COPD was seriously lack in general practitioners, so it is a necessity to strengthen training for them.
5.Detection of H-ras gene mutations in human breast atypical hyperplasia

To investigate the role of H-fas oncogene in the early stages of human breast carcinogenesis. Methods Thirty cases of human breast cancer, 36 epithelial hyperplasia of usual type and 31 atypical hyperplasia were employed to detect H-ras gene codon 12 mutations by PCR-RFLP and PCR-SSCP assays, and to detect the expression of H-ras protein by immunohistochemistry method. ResultsExpression of H-ras protein were found in 73.3 % (22/30) of breast cancer and 48.4 % (15/31 ) of atypical hyperplasia. No H-ras protein expression was observed in hyperplasia of usual type. All tested sarnples of breast cancer and hyperplsia showed no mutations of H-ras gene codon 12. ConclusionOverexpression of H-ras protein is involved in early stages of breast carcinogenesis, but mutations of H-ras gene codon 12 is rarely present in the stage.
6.Stem cells:A new resource for metabolic syndrome treatment

BACKGROUND:Metabolic syndrome is based on sugar, fat and other metabolic disorders and central obesity, hypertension as features in a series of syndrome. The traditional treatment is not yet possible to fundamental y improve and cure metabolic syndrome.
OBJECTIVE:To provide an overview of the research progress of stem celltransplantation in the treatment of metabolic syndrome.
METHODS:The first author retrieved PubMed database and CNKI database for articles regarding basic research on progress of stem celltransplantation in the treatment of metabolic syndrome, insulin resistance, diabetes, hyperlipidemia and hypertension published from 2002 to 2012. The key words were“stem cells, metabolic syndrome, insulin resistance, diabetes, hyperlipidemia, hypertension, stem cells transplantation”in English and Chinese, respectively. Outdated and repetitive studies were excluded, and 43 literatures were included for summarization.
RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:Stem cells are the origin of the body cells, and have self-replicating, highly value-added and differentiation capacity. Stem celltherapy can promote a variety of damage repair and renew aging or death of cells, so as to improve the structure and function of tissues and organs, and to promote the utilization and excretion of metabolites. Studies have shown that stem cells can treat lipid metabolism, insulin resistance, hypertension, hyperglycemia, atherosclerosis and other hazards of metabolic syndrome disorders through a variety of mechanisms. There are many problems to be solved in the treatment of metabolic syndrome with stem celltransplantation. But the existing research data have been confirmed, and stem celltransplantation in the treatment of the metabolic syndrome is a promising new approach.

8.Bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells from systemic lupus erythematosus mice have reduced osteogenic and adipogenic abilities

BACKGROUND:There are less studies addressing whether bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells from systemic lupus erythematosus patients are different from healthy people.
OBJECTIVE:To compare the multi-differentiation capacity of bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells isolated from systemic lupus erythematosus model mice and normal control mice.
METHODS:Bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells of systemic lupus erythematosus model mice and C57BL mice were isolated and cultured fol owed by osteogenic and adipogenic differentiations, respectively. Differentiation abilities of two kinds of mouse bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells were observed.
RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:Passaged bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells from C57BL mice were long spindle-shaped and evenly distributed, while bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells from systemic lupus erythematosus model mice showed slow growth and were relatively smal er than those from C57BL mice. After osteogenic induction, the amount of calcium salt and calcium nodules were significantly less in the bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells from systemic lupus erythematosus model mice than from normal control mice. PCR detection showed that expressions of Runx2, alkaline phosphatase and osteocalcin were also significantly decreased in the bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells from systemic lupus erythematosus model mice. After adipogenic induction, the number of lipid droplets in the bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells from systemic lupus erythematosus model mice was significantly less than the control group, and PCR detection also showed significantly decreased expression of adipogenic genes, including PPARγ2 and lipoprotein lipase. These findings suggest that the bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells from systemic lupus erythematosus model mice exhibit lower osteogenic and adipogenic capacities than those from normal C57BL mice, and also have the impaired multi-differentiation ability.
9.Endovascular treatment of abdominal aortic aneurysm with common iliac artery aneurysm using bellbottom technique in 17 patients

Objective To summarize our experiences of endovascular treatment for abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA) with common iliac artery aneurysm (CIAA) by using bell-bottom technique (BBT).Methods From February 2009 to June 2014,endovascular aortic repair (EVAR) was performed on 17patients with AAA with CIAA using BBT,including 16 patients with bilateral and 1 patient with unilateral CIAA.Among them,patients with common iliac artery (CIA) of less than 25 mm in diameter without involvement of the internal iliac artery and external iliac artery aneurvsm were treated with BBT.Results All procedures were successfully completed.There were 3 bilateral and 14 unilateral BBT.Type Ⅰa endoleak was noticed intraoperatively in 3 cases and balloon dilation were applied,the endoleak disappeared after dilation in 2 cases and in 1 case the diminished endoleak disappeared during the follow-up period.The median follow-up of the 17 cases was 28 months (ranging,4-68 months).During follow-up no AAA or CIAA rupture and no endoleak occurred,and no dilation of the CIAA was observed.None of them had BBT graft occlusion or buttock claudication.Conclusion AAA with CIAA can be successfully treated with EVAR and BBT,which can preserve internal iliac artery patency.
10.The value of carbon nano-particles-labeledlymph nodes in neck dissection for papillary thyroid cancer

Background and purpose:Thyroid carcinoma is a common endocrine tumor with an incidence that has increased over recent decades. The aim of the present study was to investigate the effectiveness of carbon nano-par-ticles-labeled lymph nodes in neck dissection for papillary thyroid cancer (PTC), focusing on the protectiveness for the recurrent laryngeal nerve (RLN) and parathyroid glands.Methods:Forty-eight patients with PTC treated from Apr. to Aug. 2015 were randomly divided into two groups. Group A patients (24 patients) were treated with lobectomy/total thyroidectomy plus unilateral/bilateral central lymph node dissection by conventional meticulous capsular dissection technique; Group B patients (24 patients) were treated with the same surgical procedures as group A, 5 min after the injection of carbon nano-particles. The operative time, intra-operative blood loss, incidence of RLN injury, incidence of transient hypocalcemia, the number of total lymph nodes and the ratio of metastatic nodes were collected and analyzed. Results:For unilateral lobectomy, the number of lymph nodes in group B was signiifcantly greater than that in group A (P<0.05). For total thyroidectomy, the operative time, and the incidence of transient hypocalcemia in group B were both lower than those in group A (P<0.05), and the number of total lymph nodes was signiifcantly higher than that in group A (P<0.05). In group B, the ratio of metastatic nodes were 26.7% (unilateral) and 33.3% (bilateral) in stained lymphnodes, and 11.8% and 25.9% in non-stained lymph nodes.Conclusion:The carbon nano-particles-labeled lymph nodes in neck dissection could facilitate to protect parathyroids and increase the number of lymph nodes, especially in total thyroidectomy plus bilateral central lymph node dissection.
