Phonocardiogram exercise testing(PCGET) is a recently developed method for evaluating cardiac contractility and the cardiac reserve of patients with heart disease and of healthy subjects. In order to test the reliability of PCGET method in physical sport, the present author conducted a clinical study. The ratio of the amplitude of the first heart sound after PCGET to that recorded at rest was defined as an indicator, i.e. cardiac contractility reserve index (CCRI). PCGET was performed on 30 athletes and 30 non-athletes. The results showed that the average of CCRI was 10.139 +/- 2.631 in 30 athletes and 6.612 +/- 3.104 in 30 non-athletes. There was a significant difference between CCRI of the two groups (P < 0.01). Thus, PCGET might be a noninvasive, convenient and inexpensive technique to evaluate the cardiac reserve quantitatively for athletes.

Objective To investigate the expression of nuclear factor-κB (NF-κB) and p53 up-regulated modulator of apoptosis (PUMA) in acute lung injury (ALI) induced by severe acute pancreatitis (SAP), and the therapeutic role of proline dithiocarbamate (PDTC). Method SD rats weighed 200~ 250 g were randomly(random number) divided into sham operation group (A group, n = 18), ALI group (B group, n = 18) and PDTC treatment group (C group, n = 18). The model of SAP was eastablished by injecting 1 mL/kg of sodium tauarocholate into the pancreatic capsule of the rats in B group and C group. The model rats in C group were treated with PDTC one hour after modeling. Six rats of each group were sacrificed 6 h,12 h, and 24 hours after modeling. The histopathological changes in lung and pancreas were observed. The levels of NF-κB p65 and PUMA in lung were detected by using Western blotting, and the expressions of bcl-2, bax and caspase-3 mRNA in the lung were detected by using RT-PCR. The lung tissue was taken for examination under transmission electron microscope. TUNEL was used for detection of apoptotic alveolar epithelial cells. Results Six to 24 hours after modeling, the pathological scores in lung of ALI group were significantly higher than those of control group and PDTC group after sodium taurocholate injection ( P < 0.05). The levels of NF-κB p65 and PUMA, and the expressions of bax and caspase3 mRNA in ALI group at different intervals were higher than those in control group and PDTC group ( P < 0.05),whereas the expression of bcl-2 mRNA in ALI group was lower than that in control group and PDTC group ( P <0.05). The NF-κB p65 was correlated closely and positively with PUMA ( r= 0.987, P < 0.01). Higher activity of caspase-3 acrtive units was seen in ALI group than that in control group and PDTC group ( P < 0.05). The microvilli disappeared in ALI group 24 hours later. The apoptosis index in ALI group was higher than that in control group and PDTC group ( P < 0.05). Conclusions The apoptosis of alveolar epithelial cells of rats in ALI group is caused by PUMA activated by NF-κB. PDTC treatment can inhibit apoptosis of alveolar epithelial cells of rats in ALI group by inhibiting the activation of NF-κB.

OBJECTIVE:To systematically review the efficacy of Berberine hydrochloride tablet in the treatment of non-alco-holic fatty liver disease(NAFLD),and provide evidence-based reference for the clinical treatment. METHODS:Retrieved from CJFD,Wanfang Database,VIP,CBM and PubMed,observational studies about Berberine hydrochloride tablet in the treatment of NAFLD were collected. After data extraction and quality evaluation,Meta-analysis was performed by using Rev Man 5.3 statistics software. RESULTS:A total of 6 studies were included, involving 294 patients. Results of Meta-analysis showed Berberine hydro-chloride tablet could significantly reduce the levels of AST[WMD=18.97,95%CI(2.25,35.70),P=0.03],ALT[WMD=31.04, 95%CI(7.17,54.91),P=0.01],TG[WMD=1.07,95%CI(0.39,1.74),P=0.002] and TC[WMD=1.31,95%CI(0.79,1.84),P<0.001] in the serum of patients with NAFLD. There were significant differences. CONCLUSIONS:Berberine hydrochloride tablet can significantly improve the liver function and blood lipid levels of patients with NAFLD,and the clinical efficacy is relatively pre-cise. Due to the limit of methodological quality,it remains to be further verified by large-scale and high quality RCT.

Journal of Biomedical Engineering 2005;22(1):137-142
In this paper a filtering method for EECG (Exercise ECG) signal is proposed which is based on wavelet transform (WT) and Stein's unbiased risk estimate (SURE). This algorithm was used to decompose original EECG signals into detail signals on different frequency bands by using WT and get different thresholds with SURE. According to EECG signal features and by using the above thresholds, the method amended several detail signals so that the main interferences in EECG signal can be removed efficiently. The authors also put forward two indexes to estimate the validity of such algorithms. Our experimental results demonstrate that this is an efficient de-noising method for EECG.

We optimized a fluorescent quantitative polymerase chain reaction (qPCR) assay system for rapid and real time detection of SARS-CoV-2 RNA. The results show that the lowest dilution of RNA samples used for the detection of SARS-CoV-2 RNA could reach 1/10 000 (the initial value is set as 10 ng/μL). Moreover, the cycle threshold (Ct) for samples of clinically diagnosed COVID-19 was lower than 35 or 40. The sensitivity of this method was satisfactory. The results were consistent with those of the COVID-19 detection kit on the market under the same conditions, but the number of cycles required was shortened by about 2. Therefore, the optimized assay developed in this study can be used in screening and early clinical diagnosis. Our work provides a tool to facilitate rapid clinical diagnosis of COVID-19.

Chinese Journal of Blood Transfusion 2021;34(5):501-504
【Objective】 To analyze the results of maternal anti-D measured prenatally and serological tests of the newborn postnatally, so as to provide a basis for perinatal prevention and treatment of hemolytic disease of the newborn(HDN) in Rh negative pregnant women. 【Methods】 Irregular antibodies screening, antibody identification and titer determination were carried out for pregnant women prenatally. Blood group typing and 3 HDN tests were performed for the infant suspected as HDN. One-month follow up, since the delivery of the infant, concerning the changes in antibody titers, hemoglobin and bilirubin of the infant were monitored. 【Results】 The anti-D titer increased to 512 since 28 weeks in the parturient, 1 024 at 30 weeks of gestation, and decreased to 512 at the time of delivery. The masking effect on RhD antigen was observed after the birth of the child, with a sustained decrease in hemoglobin and a sharp increase in total and indirect bilirubin after 24 h of birth, which peaked within 48 h and gradually decreased thereafter. The antibody titers gradually decreased after birth. 【Conclusion】 Close monitoring of the changes of irregular antibody titer in Rh negative parturients is helpful for the prevention and early treatment of HDN, and hemoglobin changes in the newborn should be monitored immediately after birth, as well as symptomatic treatment to reduce the involvement of affected children.
