Journal of International Pharmaceutical Research 2016;(1):39-43
Protein phosphatase 2A(PP2A)is the main serine/threonine protein phosphatase of the brain, and it is involved in many physiological and pathological processes in the cell. Particularly in the pathogenesis of Alzheimer′s disease(AD),PP2A is closely related to the main pathological features of AD. Deregulation of PP2A enzymes correlates with increased tau phosphorylation, the formation of amyloid precursor protein, and the missing of neurons. PP2A as the target of drug development may bring new hope for the treatment of AD. This review introduces the structure and activity regulation of PP2A,and the role of PP2A in AD.

Chinese Mental Health Journal 1991;0(05):-
Objective: To revise and evaluate the Chinese version of the FACT-B. Method: The Chinese version of the FACT-B was translated from the original one, after back-translated and culture adaptation, it was applied to 165 patients with breast cancer. Result: The test-retest reliability of five domains, such as physical well-being, social/family well-being, emotional well-being, functional well-being, additional concerns and the overall scale were 0.82~0.89. The internal consistency alpha for the five domains were 0.61~0.84. After admission to hospital 2-4 weeks, the quality of life of patients showed some change in this scale. Conclusion: The Chinese version of the FACT-B has good psychometric quality and can be used to assess the quality of life of Chinese patients with breast cancer.

Basic & Clinical Medicine 2006;0(05):-
Objective To investigate the expression of angiotensin-converting enzyme 2(ACE2) in rat endocrine and exocrine tissue of pancreas and to compare its expression level with that in other visceral tissues. Methods The expression of ACE2 in rat visceral organs was detected by immunohistochemistry and reverse transcriptase polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR). Results ACE2 was positively expressed in all the test tissues, including pancreas, heart, liver, kidney, lung, spleen, duodenum, ileum and bladder. The expression of ACE2 mRNA was detected in whole pancreas and ACE2 protein was found in both endocrine tissue and exocrine tissue of rat pancreas, while in the endocrine tissue much less ACE2 protein was expressed. The absorbance value of exocrine tissue of rat pancreas increased significantly as compared to that in pancreatic islet. Conclusion Our data demonstrated a tissue specific pattern of ACE2 expression in rat pancreas and this indicated ACE2 might be present in islet of pancreas of human, which might cause the elevation of blood glucose levels in SARS patients. Since ACE2 works as a negative regulator of the angiotensin system, the expression of ACE2 protein in endocrine tissue of pancreas may facilitate the treatment of diabetes.

Journal of Preventive Medicine 2023;35(10):844-848
Objective:
To systematically evaluate the incidence of falls among empty nesters in China, so as to provide the evidence for preventing falls among empty nesters.
Methods:
Publications pertaining to cross-sectional studies of falls among empty nesters in China were retrieved from international and national databases, including CNKI, Wanfang Data, VIP, Cochrane Library, Web of Science and PubMed from inception to August, 2022. Meta-analysis was performed using the software Stata 15.1, and the combined incidence and 95%CI of falls among empty nesters in China was analyzed. Sensitivity analysis was performed using the leave-one-out method to evaluate the stability of outcome indicators. In addition, the publication bias was evaluated using Funnel plot.
Results:
Initially, 795 articles were screened in the literature, and 17 articles were finally included, covering 5 468 participants. Meta-analysis revealed that the incidence of falls among empty nesters in China was 23.0% (95%CI: 16.6%-29.5%). Subgroup analysis showed that the incidence of falls among empty nesters published from 2016 to 2022 was higher than that from 2008 to 2015 (20.4% vs. 17.3%; P<0.05). The incidence of falls among empty nesters in western regions was higher than that in eastern and central regions (27.4% vs. 15.9% and 15.0%; P<0.05). The incidence of falls among empty nesters in urban areas was higher than that in rural areas (20.8% vs. 9.9%; P<0.05). Sensitivity analysis showed that the study results were stable, and the funnel plot identified some publication bias.
Conclusion
The incidence of falls among empty nesters in China was 16.6% to 29.5%, and it is recommended to strengthen the assessment and prevention of risk factors of falls among empty nesters.
