1.Experimental studies of autoimmune response to sperm antigens in vaseetomized rabbits
Chinese Journal of Pathophysiology 1986;0(02):-
Thirty-three rabbits were bilaterally vasectomized and observed for 1-12 months with 7 normal male rabbits control. It was found that (1) 67.9% of the vase ctomized rabbits revealed antibodies to sperm antigens with a titre ranging from 1:5 to 1:1280 as detected by indirect hemagglutination test; (2) 90.9% of the vasectomized rabbits showed antibodies to sperm by indirect immunofluorescence; (3) 43.5% of the vasectomized rabbits showed positive leucocyte adhesion inhibition test; (4) while pathomorphological findings in the section of immune organs of the vasectomized rabbits showed that the lymphatic tissues were proliferative, macrophages were active. Circulatory immune complex was not detected in any of the 33 vasectomized rabbits. Epididymides were swollen in 70% of the experimental animals in 5-7 months after vasectomy, subsidence of epididymal swelling occurred usually with the increase of antibody titres against sperm antigen.
2.The effect of vasectomy on experimental atherosclerosis
Chinese Journal of Pathophysiology 1986;0(03):-
Twenty vasectomized rabbits were divided into 2 groups: vasectomy stock diet (V-S) group and vasectomy cholesterol diet (V-Ch) group. In addition, 20 male rabbits of the same age were divided into correspondent control stock diet (C-S) group and control cholesterol diet (C-Ch) group. The results showed that (1) antibodies to sperm antigens were detected in 70% the vasectomized rabbits, but circulating immune complexes (CIC) was not found by two different tests in any of the vasectomized rabbits; (2) There were no lipid plaques formed in the intima of aorta and coronary artery in V-S group; (3) In rabbits of V-Ch group fed a high cholesterol diet for 12 weeks, both serum total lipid and ?-lipoprotein were significantly higher than those in C-Ch group. However, the atherosclerotic changes in aorta and coronary arteries showed no difference between the two groups both in extent and severity, implicating that vasectomy probably dose not contribute to the aggravate the process of atherosclerosis in rabbits fed a high cholesterol diet. These features might be related to the fact that there was no difference in serum lipid peroxide level between the two groups and that there was no CIC formation following vasectomy in the rabbits.
3.Effects of dexamethasone pre-treatment on serum and tissue level of lipid peroxides and serum superoxide dismutase activity in dogs with hemorrhagic shock
Chinese Journal of Pathophysiology 1986;0(03):-
Ten dogs with experimental hemorrhagic shock were equally divided into a dexamethasone-pretreated group (HSD) and a nontrcated group (HS). Arterial blood pressure was kept at 5.3-6.6kPa by bleeding infusion through a femoral artery. The experimental results indicated that serum lipid peroxide level of the HSD group was significantly lower than that of the HS group (P
4.Effcts of the panaxadiol saponins on serum 5-HT and platelets in dog with hemorrhagic shock
Chinese Journal of Pathophysiology 1986;0(01):-
Experiments were performed on 29 healthy mongrel dogs with average body weight of 13?2.2kg. The animals were randomly divided into three groups:(1) nine dogs in the hemorrhagic shock group(HS); (2) tendogs in the panaxadiol saponin pretreatement group (HSG), which were intravenously injected with 25mg panaxadiol saponin 1 h before bleeding; (3) In the dexamethasone pretreatment group, othet ten dogs were intramuscularly injected with 1 mg/kg body wt of dexamethasone 1 h before bleeding. The mean arterial pressure of 5.3 kPa was kept during experimental period. The morphological changes of platelet were observed with scanning electromicroscope. The results showed that the platelet damage was much lighter in HSP and HSD gnoups than that of the HS group. The seum 5-HT content of HS group gradually increased hemorrhage with time delay. In the HSG group, the 5-HT level was increased from 1 and 3 h after bleeding, then it was decreased at 4 and 5 h. In the HSD group 5-HT level didn′t show any change from prebleeding to postbleeding. However, in the HS group 5-HIAA concentration increased significantly from 3rd to 5th hour after bleeding in the HS group, but was not in the HSG and HSD groups. These findings suggest that the panaxadiol saponins and dexamethsone can effecti vely inhibit the increasing of 5-HT and 5-HIAA levels in the themorrhagic shock.
5.Recent advances in aquaporin
Chinese Journal of Pathophysiology 2000;0(08):-
Aquaporins are small integral membrane proteins that selectively transport water and some small solutes in mammals, plants and lower organisms. Continued studies of the aquaporins are providing detailed tissue localization and the important physiological roles of aquaporins in urinary, respiratory, digestive and nervous systems. Based on the importance of aquaporin studies in the field of structural chemistry in biomembranes, American scientist Peter Agre won the 2003 Chemistry Nobel Prize for the discovery of water channels.
6.Influence of vasectomy and experimental hyperlipemia on brain stem response and serous lipid peroxides
Chinese Journal of Pathophysiology 1986;0(01):-
Sixteen rabbits vaseetomized 12 months were divided into vasectomy stock diet(V-S) group and vasectomy cholesterol diet(V-Ch)group. 16 male rabbits of same body weight were divided into control stock diet(C-S) group and control cholesterol diet (C-Ch) group. The results showe that (1)the ABR threshold values of the vasectomy groups (V-S,V-Ch) were not different from those of the control groups(C-S,C-Ch), but the ABR threshold values of cholesterol diet groups(V-Ch,C-Ch) were markedly higher than those of stock diet groups (V-S,C-S) and were positively related to the TC level (P0.05); (3) the serous lipid peroxide levels had apparently positive relation with the serous total cholesterol level (P0.05).
7.Experimental study on the causes of infertility after vasovasostomy sperm density and testicular functions
Chinese Journal of Pathophysiology 1986;0(01):-
Bilateral vasovasostomy was performed on 14 male rabbits which received a vasectomy 12 months ago. After 3 months, the rabbits were mated with female rabbits in a course of two months in order to observe the restoration of fertility. They were divided into vasovasostomy fertility group(VFG)and vasovasostomy infertility group(VIG), 7 rabbits, each according to their fertility. 8 rabbits that received a vasectomy only were designated as vasectomy group(VG), and 9 as sham-operation group(SOG), both (VG & SG) served as control. The results showed, (1)the value of sperm density in VFG was significantly lower than that in SOG, but markedly higher than that in VIG(P
8.Effects of PDS on LPO contents in serum and testis, and also on ACE activities of testes of rats with varicocele
Chinese Journal of Pathophysiology 1986;0(02):-
While varicocele were induced in Wistar rats, they were treated with Pan-axadiol Saponins (PDS) at the sametime. Three months after the begining of varicocele,LPO contents of testis and serum, testicular ACE activities and SOD levels were measured. The results showed that: In the varicocele group treated with Panaxadiol Saponins (VPG),the LPO contents of serum and bilateral testis were significantly lower than those ofvaricocele group (VG) (P

Journal of Practical Radiology 2001;0(09):-
Objective To investigate the image characteristics of Synovial Sarcoma, and improve the diagnostic accuracy. Methods The clinical materials and image findings of synovial sarcomas proved by pathology and were retrospectively analyzed in 13 cases. Results ①Most synovial sarcomas located in close proximity to joints, especially large joints of lower limbs . ②The mass diameter was usually more than 5cm ,and most masses presented moderate density, and some with calcification inside it on X-ray films. ③Most masses density was not homogeneous and lower than that of the muscle on CT, the demarcation was clear or not. ④On T2WI /STIR of MRI, most tumours presented slightly hyperintense "cobble" nodules , with hypointense septa among the nodules. After contrast, the nodules were unenhanced or enhanced slightly, the septa were markedly enhanced. Conclusion Some image features of synovial sarcoma ,especially on MRI, are helpful for the diagnosis of it.
