Acute mesenteric ischemia (AMI) is a lifethreatening disease, with high mortality rate and is easily misdiagnosed.Rapid and acute detection of the AMI and its primary diseases by multi-slice computed tomography (MSCT) and computed tomography angiography (CTA) is of great significance. The clinical data of 31 patients with AMI who were admitted to the Xidian Group Hospital from January 2005 to June 2013 were retrospectively analyzed.Stenosis or occlusion of the mesenteric blood vessels, diminished or absent enhancement of the bowel wall are the direct signs of CT,thickening of the bowel wall is the most typical indirect sign of CT.Dilatation or collapse of the bowel lumen and swelling of the mesenterium are the common CT signs.Pneumatosis intestinalis and gas in the portomesenteric vein are reliable CT signs of the Intestinal Infarction.Artery and venous embolism, atherosclerosis, vasculitis, aortitis, strangulated intestinal obstruction and superior mesenteric artery dissection are the possible causes of AMI.

Objective To investigate the influence of membrane molecular weight cut off in our bioartificial liver(BAL)system. Methods Beagle dogs were used for a model of acute liver failure through D-galactosamine administration. The acute liver failure Beagles were divided into two groups by the membrane molecular weight cut off.Group A was treated with BAL containing 200 kDa retention rating membrane.Group B was treated with BAL containing 1200 kDa retention rating membrane. Each group underwent two six-hour BAL treatments that were performed on day 1 and day 21.BAL medium were examined and levels of IgG,IgM,and complement hemolytic unit of 50%(CH50)antibodies were measured in all Beagles and. Results BAL treatment was associated with a significant decline in levels of CH50.1200 kDa group experienced a significant increase in levels of IgG and IgM after two BAL treatments.Significant levels of canine proteins were detected in BAL medium from 1200 kDa group. Conclusions Xenogeneic immune response in the BAL system was influenced by membrane molecular weight cut off.

ObjectiveTo study the effects of membrane molecular weight cut off on a novel bioartificial liver(BAL) system.MethodsHealthy beagles underwent 6-hour treatment with a BAL containing membrane with 200 kDa retention rating or 1200 kDa retention rating. The functional changes and cell viability were characterized.ResultsHepatocyte performance levels such as albumin secretion, urea synthesis and viability were significantly higher in the 200 kDa retention rating group when compared with the 1200 kDa retention rating group (P<0.05).Significant levels of canine proteins were detected in the BAL medium from the 1200 kDa retention rating group.Fluorescence microscopy further verified that heavy deposition of canine IgG,IgM and complement (C3) on co-culture cells were obtained after BAL treatment in the 1200 kDa retention rating group.ConclusionsSmall membrane molecular weight cut off of BAL could reduce the transfer of xenoreactive antibodies into the BAL medium and improved the performance of the BAL.

Purpose To investigate the difference of resting-state functional connectivity density(FCD)between chronic primary insomnia patients and healthy controls via resting state functional magnetic resonance imaging(rs-fMRI).Materials and Methods All rs-fMRI data of 35 patients with chronic primary insomnia from Xidian Group Hospital and Xi'an Encephalopathy Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine, and 35 healthy controls were prospectively collected from August 2020 to December 2021.The voxel-wise FCD approach was applied to explore the differences of whole-brain functional networks between chronic primary insomnia patients and healthy controls. The relationships between FCD value and Pittsburgh sleep quality index,self-rating scale of sleep, insomnia severity index,self-rating anxiety scale and self-rating depression scale in primary insomnia patients were investigated, respectively. Results Compared with healthy controls, the decreased FCD values were showed in the right insula, bilateral anterior cingulate gyrus, left orbitofrontal middle gyrus, left dorsolateral superior frontal gyrus, right medial superior frontal gyrus and bilateral thalamus(t<-5.271,Padjust<0.05),while the increased FCD values showed in the right superior temporal gyrus, bilateral middle temporal gyrus, bilateral precuneus and left posterior cingulate gyrus(t>4.379,Padjust<0.05)in the chronic primary insomnia patients group. The FCD values of bilateral thalamus(r=-0.620,P<0.001;r=-0.562,P<0.005)and right insula(r=-0.651,P<0.001)were negatively correlated with insomnia severity index in the chronic primary insomnia patients group, respectively. Conclusion The extensive functional connectivity abnormalities are observed in primary insomnia patients via FCD analysis. These findings explain the neural mechanisms of underlying emotional regulation and cognitive impairment in chronic insomnia from the perspective of functional integration and functional separation.

SUMMARY Thehumanembryonicstemcells(hESCs)serveasaself-renewable,genetically-healthy, pluripotent and single source of all body cells, tissues and organs. Therefore,it is considered as the good standard for all human stem cells by US,Europe and international authorities. In this study, the standard and healthy human mesenchymal progenitors, ligament tissues, cardiomyocytes, keratinocytes, primary neurons, fibroblasts, and salivary serous cells were differentiated from hESCs.The human cellular health-safety of NaF,retinoic acid,5-fluorouracil,dexamethasone,penicillin G,adriamycin, lead ace-tate PbAc,bisphenol A-biglycidyl methacrylate (Bis-GMA)were evaluated selectively on the standar-dized platforms of hESCs,hESCs-derived cardiomyocytes, keratinocytes, primary neurons, and fibro-blasts.The evaluations were compared with those on the currently most adopted cellular platforms.Parti-cularly,the sensitivity difference of PM2.5 toxicity on standardized and healthy hESCs derived fibroblasts, currently adopted immortalized human bronchial epithelial cells Beas-2B and human umbilical vein endo-thelial cells (HUVECs)were evaluated. The results showed that the standardized hESCs cellular plat-forms provided more sensitivity and accuracy for human cellular health-safety evaluation.
