Clinical Medicine of China 2010;26(9):924-926
Objective To investigate the role of correcting anemia in improving the heart function of chronic heart failure(CHF) with anemia. Methods Sixty-six CHF patients with anemia were randomly assigned to two groups. Thirty cases in the control group received routine treatment including digitalis, diuretics, vasodilator,ACEI or β-blocker,and 36 cases in the observe group received the above routine treatment and EPO,chalybeate and transferring hematid. Results Clinical efficiency ratio and total efficiency ratio were higher in the observe group (63. 9% ,91.7%) than in the control group(33.3% ,56. 7%) (χ2 =6. 73 and 10.91 ,P <0.01). After treatment for 3 months,Hb concentration, LVEF, LVDD, LEDV and LESV in the observe group were (125.0 ± 4. 0) g/L,(49.6±8.0)%,(4.9 ±0.7) cm,(130.1 ±24.0) ml and (72.5 ±32.0) ml respectively, which were all significantly improved than those in the control group [(80.0 ± 7.0) g/L, (34. 7 ± 10.0) %, (6. 0 ± 0.4) cm,(148. 3 ± 30.8) ml and (79. 7 ± 25. 0) ml] (P < 0.01). Conclusions Correcting anemia is a safe and effective method in improveing the heart functionin CHF patients with anemia.

Objective To investigate the effect of has-miR-663 on proliferation and apoptosis of human adrenal cortical cell line SW-13.Methods Based on the first stage study,in adrenocorticotropinindependent macronodular adrenal hyperplasia (AIMAH),hsa-miR-663 was up-regulated.The synthetic hsa-miR-663 mimics and inhibitors were transfected the SW-13 cell line.Real-time quantitative PCR (RT-PCR) tested the effect of the transfection.According to the results of RT-PCR,cell line was divided into five groups, including blank group, mimics NC group, inhibitor NC group, mimics group, inhibitor group. Then proliferating of the cell was tested by MTT and the apoptosis by Annexin V-FITC/PI.Result By RT-PCR,mimics group showed that has-miR-663 was over-expressed,and inhibitor group were knocked down.MTTshowed that, compared with NC group and Blank group,SW-13 cell line proliferated faster in mimics group and slower in inhibitor group.Annexin V-FITC/PI showed that apoptosis of SW-13 cell line was not different in all the five groups. Conclusion Up-regulating has-miR-663 could accelerate proliferation of adrenal cortical cells. The microRNA might play some role in the pathogenesis of AIMAH.

Poststroke depression (PSD) is the most common neurological and psychiatric complications after stroke.A large number of studies have showed that PSD is the result of a variety of mechanisms on the basis of stroke. This article reviews the pathophysiology mechanisms of PSD.

OBJECTIVE: To investigate the effects of carvedilol on blood pressure in hypertension patients and vascular endothelial function. METHODS: 100 inpatients with primary hypertension were collected from our hospital from Jan. 2008 to Jan. 2010 and randomly divided into treatment group and control group(n=50). Treatment group were given initial oral dose of carvedilol tablets 6.25 mg twice a day for 7~14 days if it was tolerated; the dose of carvedilol tablets increased to 12.5 mg or 25 mg twice a day according to blood pressure at trough concentration if it was necessary. Control group were given carvedilol tablets 6.25 mg twice a day if it was tolerated. After 1 week, control group received double dose of metoprolol with maximum dose of carvedilol of 50 mg. The treatment course was 3 months. The contents of NO and ET in serum of 2 groups were detected. Antihypertensive effect and effects of carvedilol on vascular endothelial dilatation and systolic function were observed and compared between 2 groups. RESULTS: After treatment, the systolic and diastolic blood pressure in both groups were decreased significantly(P

Objective:To assess the effects of dental treatment under general anesthesia on the life quality of children and their families.Methods:59 children aged 3 to 6-year-old were included.Parents were required to complete the early childhood oral health impact scales(ECOHIS) before and 1 month after dental treatment under general anesthesia. The questionnaire includes child impact section(CIS) and family impact section(FIS).Data were analyzed using SPSS version 19.0.Results:55 out of the 59 parents completed the qustionnaire. After treatment the total ECOHIS scores decreased by 51% (P < 0.001),overall child impact section scores decreased by 50% (P <0.001),and family impact section scores decreased by 53% (P <0.001),revealing a large effect size(ES) for the child(1.4) and family (4.0) sections of the ECOHIS.Conclusion:Dental treatment under general anesthesia for uncooperative young children with extensive dental problems can improve the quality of life of both children and their families.

Objective To evaluate the efficacy of the end point of catheter ablation of pulmonary vein (PV) foci initiating atrial fibrillation (AF) to guide the catheter ablation of PAF Methods Thirty two drug resistant PAF patients withdrew all antiarrhythmias drugs for one week and received Holter monitoring on dyas 7, 5, 3, and 1 before operation, respectively During the operation, focal ablation was performed in the patients whose target PV could be documented, and all pulmonary veins os and isthmus of right atrium were ablated in the other patients All patients received Holter monitor on days 1,3,5, and 7 postablation, respectively If PAF relapsed after the first operation, the patient would undergo operation again until no AF was documented The patients were followed up for 3 to 20 months Results Total 82 PV in 32 patients were success isolated In foci ablation patients, 9(60 0%) patients successed by one operation, and 6(40 0%) patients successed after the second operation In all PVs isolation patients, 9(47 0%) patients successed by one operation, and 10 (58 8%) patients successed after the second operation, and the success rate was 11 (64 7%) after the third operation The overall success rate was 81 3% Conclusion The endpoint of PAF ablation should be no AF recurrence when no antiarrhythmias drugs were administrated The success rate was higher in the patients who had clear target PV and the overall success rate could be improved by the ablation once again

Chinese Journal of Practical Internal Medicine 2003;0(01):-
Objective To inquire into T-type calcium channel effects on RyR and IP 3R of sarcoplasmic reticulum in atrial myocytes during atrial fibrillation. Methods Ten dogs underwent continuous rapid atrial pacing (500 beats/min) to create persistent atrial fibrillation. In five rapidly-paced dogs, mibefradil dihydrochloride was given beginning 2 days after pacemaker implantation, continuing until the twenty-fourth week.A group of size-matched dogs (n=5) without given mibefradil was used as a pure atrial fibrillation group.Another group of size-matched dogs (n=5) without pacemaker implantation was used as a control group.Canine atrial myocytes isolated by enzymatic dissociation were used to study T-type Ca 2+ channel blocker effects on expression and function changes of RyR and IP 3R in atrial myocytes by confocal microscopy. Results RyR/IP 3R ratio (0.2965?0.01812) was markedly lower than that of control group (2.7043?0.2293),but there was no difference compared with that of atrial fibrillation group (0.2472?0.1355).Ca 2+transient of atrial myocytes was nremarkably changed (1.3031?0.1056)(P
