Objective To explore the apoptosis of alveolar epithelial cell(AEC)and the dynamic changes of Caspase-3 mRNA and Bax and Bcl-2 expression in premature rat with hyperoxia-induced chronic lung disease(CLD).Methods Sixty premature rats within 1 day after birth were randomly divided into 2 groups:hyperoxia group(n=30)and control group(n=30).Hyperoxia-induced premature rat CLD models were prepared, and situ nick end-labeling(TUNEL),reverse transcription polymerasechain reaction(RT-PCR)and immunohistochemical technique were used to determine apoptosis index(AI)of AEC and the expressions of Caspase-3 mRNA and Bax and Bcl-2 proteins in lung tissues at 1,3,7,14 and 21 d after birth. Results Compared with control group,in the hyperoxia group,on the third day after exposured to hyperoxia, the AI of AEC and the expressions of Caspase-3 mRNA and Bax began to increase, and the expression of Caspase-3 mRNA was kept at high level on 7-21 d.The expression of Bcl-2 began to decrease on 7 d,and significantly decreased on 7-21 d.AI of AEC was positively correlated with the expression of Caspase-3 mRNA and Bax,and negatively with the expression of Bcl-2.Conclusions Hyperoxia may induce the increased expression of Caspase-3 mRNA,which might result in the abnormal expression of Bax and Bcl-2 in lung tissues and their imbalance, which might be one of the underlying mechanisms of apoptosis of AEC in premature rats with CLD.

Objective To study the clinical characteristics and curative effects of pancreatic cystade- nocarcinoma in order to improve its diagnostic and therapeutic accuracy. Methods A retrospective analysis was done on the clinical materials of 13 cases of pancreatic cystadenocarcinoma hospitalized in Shanxi Cancer Hospital from 1990 to 2006.Results The preoperative diagnosis were as follows:pancreatic cystadenocarci- noma 6 cases, pancreatic cystadenoma 2 cases, pancreatic cancer 1 case, pancreatic pseudocyst 4 cases. The misdiagnosis rate was 53.8 %.Surgical operation was done on the 13 cases, and 10 of them were treated by radical operation.A 5-year follow-up was done on 6 still alive cases, and 1 of them lived over 11 years.3 cases were treated by palliative operation, and all of them died within 3 years. Conclusion Since there is no specific clinical manifestations of pancreatic cystadenocarcinoma,it is very difficult to get an accurate preop- erative diagnosis.Radical operation is the most effective therapeutic methods.
9.Effect of shugan liangxue compound for relieving hot flashes in breast cancer patients.
Chinese Journal of Integrated Traditional and Western Medicine 2009;29(1):30-33
OBJECTIVETo observe the effect of Shugan Liangxue Compound (SLC) for relieving hot flashes in breast cancer patients medicated with tamoxifen.
METHODSA randomized, double blind clinical trial for observing the therapeutic effects of SLC was carried out on 73 breast cancer patients hospitalized from October 2004 to November 2006, who were treated with tamoxifen, and revealed hot flashes. They were randomly assigned to two groups, the 37 in the treated group treated by SLC, and the 36 in the control group treated with placebo. Taking the improvement of hot flashes as an end point index and that of sleep as a secondary index, the effects of treatment were compared by Kupperman scoring with the average times of hot flashes per day and condition of sleep within 1 week before treatment as baseline.
RESULTSThe effects on 66 patients (33 in the treated group and 33 in the control group) were evaluable. In the treated group hot flashes disappeared in 5 patients (15.2%), relieved in 14 (42.4%) and unchanged in 14 (42.4%); while in the control group, it disappeared in none, relieved in 10 (30.3%) and unchanged in 23 (69.7%), comparison between groups showed significant difference (P = 0.012). As for the condition of sleep, it was improved in 21 (63.6%) and unchanged in 12 (36.4%) in the treated group; while the condition of sleep in the control group was improved in 13 (39.4%) and unchanged in 20 (60.6%), also with significant difference between the two groups (P = 0.002).
CONCLUSIONSLC is effective in alleviating tamoxifen-induced hot flashes and improving the condition of sleep.

Chinese Journal of Trauma 1993;0(06):-
Objective To determine the effect of fibroblast growth factor (FGF) on endothelia cell (EC) proliferation in vitro,TNP-470 and dexamethasone (Dex) and explore the possible mechanisms of FGF stimulating EC proliferation. Methods Cultured human umbilical vein endothelial cell (HUVEC) was divided into two groups: control group (Group DMEM) and experimental groups (Group FGF,Group Dex,Group TNP-470,Group FGF+Dex,Group FGF+TNP-470). The EC proliferation was quantified by a colorimetric assay using MTT reagent, the relative cell numbers at every time point of EC cycle analyzed with flow cytometer, and the expression of nuclear factor-kappa B p65 (NF-?B p65) and ki-67 detected with immunohistochemical method of SABC. Results FGF stimulated significantly EC proliferation, raised proliferation index (PI) and enhanced the expressions of NF-?B p65 and ki-67 in nuclear. TNP-470 reduced PI and TNP-470 and Dex suppressed EC proliferation and finally decreased the expressions of NF-?B p65 and ki-67 in nuclear. FGF could facilitate the inhibitory effect of TNP-470 and Dex. Conclusions The possible mechanism of EC proliferation stimulated by FGF is that FGF can activate NF-?B to promote the synthesis of DNA and EC mitosis. TNP-470 and Dex suppress proliferation and differentiation of EC but FGF may reverse such suppressive effect.
