BACKGROUND: Systematic family therapy focuses on the interaction, and group counseling contributes to the improving of interpersonal relationship. To introduce the ideas and techniques of systematic family therapy into school situations, which is necessary to the peer relationship improvement of disliked children in the class.OBJECTIVE: To study the feasibility of introducing the ideas and techniques of systematic family therapy into school situations with the aim of improving the peer relationship.DESIGN: Inequality experiment group and control group design.SETTING: Institute of Educational Sciences and Administration, Yunnan Normal University.PARTICIPANTS: The experiment was carried out in Kunming No.l Primary School from September 2000 to April 2001. Two out of three ordinary classes in Grade Six were chosen to take part in the experiment at the school. Both classes were similar in performance, total number and composing. Class 3 of Grade 6 (n=46) was made experiment class randomly, and Class 1 of Grade 6 (n=41) was comparison class. Children of both classes were measured by the Social Distance Scale for Children at the same time, which was described in 5 grades. All children were required to evaluate their classmates by the list. The following 5 grades respectively scored 5, 4, 3, 2 and 1 point: making best friend with him or her willingly, hope to be with him or her in the same class but not the best friend, being with him or her willingly but not many times or too long, he or her may be in our class but have no intercourse, hope him or her not to be in our class. The evaluation result was statistically analyzed, and the higher the mean score of child had, the more popular he was. Five male children who was the farthest from their peers in the experiment class were taken as the experiment group according to the score of Social Distance Scale for Children, who were 12-13 years old with a mean age of 12.7 years. Another 5male children in the other class were selected as the control group by the same way, who were 12-13 years old with a mean age of 12.5 years.METHODS: The idea of systematic family therapy was introduced into the experiment group, including 10 times of group counseling, which were carried out by games, role-playing, group discussion, brain-storming etc.The "everyday work" was assigned to the class as the techniques of systematic family therapy required, especially for children in the experiment group such as "keep secret progress account", and teachers and classmates were required to watch and note their members' progress secretly. While children in the control group and corresponding class were given no intervention measure. Children of both classes were tested by the Social Distance Scale for Children to evaluate the changes in peer relationship during and after the experiment respectively. And children in the experiment group were required to fill in the Group Activity Viewpoint Questionnaire.MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES: Comparison in score of Social Distance Scale for Children before, during and after the intervention, and the investigation on viewpoint about group activity in the experiment group.RESULTS: A total of 10 children in both groups were involved in the analysis of results. There was no significant difference between children of the two groups in social distance before intervention and during it(t=0.232,1.089, P > 0.05). It cotld be Iearnt from the experiment after test that the score in children of the experiment group was remarkably higher than that of the control group (t=3.169, P < 0.05). The effect of group activity on children in the experiment group was remarkably clear and excellent.CONCLUSION: It is effect and feasible to introduce the idea and techniques of systematic family therapy into school situations, aiming at improving the peer relationship of children.

Chinese Journal of Tissue Engineering Research 2006;10(2):159-161
BACKGROUND: Family factor is the main reason for children's psychological and behavioral problems. Seen from the view of systemic family theory, in any circumstances, children's behavioral problems reflect various interpersonal systemic networks among society, school, family, relatives and friends and the relationship of complicated interactions among individuals.Family therapy is an important way to cure children's behavioral problems.OBJECTIVE: To observe whether systemic family rehabilitation is adequate for intervening in children's behavioral problems.DESIGN: Cluster sampling; Contrast observationSETTING: Department of Psychiatry, Kunming Medical College.PARTICIPANTS: A total of 276 students in grade four from Mingtong primary school of Kunming City were selected along with their parents from May 2004 to March 2005. A survey was conducted on students and their parents according to the principle of cluster sampling.METHODS: Self-rating family dynamics scale was used to investigate the characteristics of family dynamics of 276 students in grade four. Achenbach child behavior checklist for parents was adopted to investigate the situation of their children' s behaviors. 57 cases of children with behavioral problems were detected out, and took the families in which the whole family members voluntarily participated in the intervention as interventional group and the families in which any one of the family members did not want to participate in the intervention as abnormal control group. The students and their parents in interventional group were treated with 4-month systemic therapy. 4 months later, resent the above rating scales.MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES: Comparison of family dynamics and children's behaviors between interventional group and abnormal control group before and after intervention.RESULTS: After intervention, changes of family dynamics and children's behaviors in interventional group had taken place, which had statistical difference. The changes as follows: family atmosphere changed from "depressive and hostile" to "harmonious, pleasant, equal and exoteric"; the degree of individuation of family members changed from low level to high; disease concept changed from "regarding the patients as helpless victims" to "regarding them as helpful doers", which realize "softening of disease concept". The total scores of Achenbach child behavior checklist for parents decreased [The scores of questionnaire for fathers before and after intervention were (42.20±22.58) and (28.95±21.90) respectively, and scores of questionnaire for mothers before and after intervention were (50.95±14.60) and (36.40-±15.36) respectively, P < 0.05]. There was no significant difference between the changes of children's behaviors assessed by fathers and mothers in abnormal control group [The scores of questionnaire for fathers before and after intervention were (38.32±17.30) and (37.57±16.45) respectively, and scores of questionnaire for mothers before and after intervention were (45.54±16.02) and (40.14±17.95) respectively, P > 0.05].CONCLUSION: Using the idea and technique of systemic family therapy ,it is feasible and effective to intervene in children's behavioral problems by family therapy.

Chinese Journal of Anesthesiology 1994;0(04):-
Objective To assess the changes in blood coagulation induced by intraoperative blood salvage and reinfusion. Methods Thirty-six ASA I - II patients aged 15-63 yr undergoing elective major orthopedic surgery were paired according to their sex and type of surgery. The paired patients were randomly allocated to either autotransfusion group (study group) or homologous blood transfusion group (control group). Patients with malignant tumor were excluded. Anesthesia was induced with propofol, fentanyl and succinylcholine and maintained with isoflurane inhalation supplemented with intermittent iv boluses of fentanyl and vecuronium. During operation deliberate hypotension was induced with 0.01% sodium nitroprusside. Systolic blood pressure was maintained at (90?5) mm Hg or reduced by 30% of the baseline systolic blood pressure. During operation lactated Ringer' s solution was infused at a rate of 10 ml?kg-1?h-1 . In both groups, blood loss was replaced by equal volume of gelatine. Hct was maintained above 25% , CVP at 6 - 10 cmH2O and urine output above 50 ml? h-1 . In autotransfusion group, shed blood was collected and heparinized. Red cells were separated and washed for reinfusion. In control group red cell concentrate was infused. Hb, Hct, platelet count (PLT), prothrombin time (PT), activated partial thromboplastin time (APTT), plasma fibrinogen concentration, and thrombin time (TT) were determined and thromboelastography (TEG) was performed before operation (T0 ), before blood transfusion (T1 ), 1 h after blood transfusion (T2) and 24 h after operation (T3) .Results The two groups were comparable with regard to age, sex, duration of operation, blood loss [ (1030 ?610) ml vs (989?586) ml] and the amount of crystalloid and colloid infused during operation. In autotransfusion group Hb decreased significantly after hemodilution. There was no significant difference in PT, APTT, FIB concentration and TT between the two groups. TEG showed that reaction time (r) increased significantly after hemodilution in autotransfusion group as compared with the preoperative baseline value (T0) but there was no significant difference in TEG parameters including r time between the two groups. Conclusion Intraoperative blood salvage and reinfusion induce no significant effects on blood coagulation as compared with allogenic blood transfusion.
