2.Danger perception and cautious behavior of mice in an elevated board task
Chinese Journal of Behavioral Medicine and Brain Science 2008;17(7):581-583
Objective To study the cautious behaviors of mice under dangerous conditions caused by height. Methods An elevated beard task was designed,in which the mice were employed to get through a horizontally elevated beard. The time of getting through and number of looking-aside behaviors were recorded under different experimental conditions with different elevated height and visual cues. Results The mean time of getting through the elevated board with a height of 60cm was significantly longer than that of 15cm [(22.55±14.64)s Vs (12.16±8.67)s, P<0.05]. The number of looking-aside behaviors decreased from (2.95±1.73) to (1.95± 1.27) , P <0.05 ,when the visual cues on potential danger were controlled. Conclusion The cautious behaviors increase with the height of elevated board and decrease when controlling for the visual cues on potential danger, which indicate a trade-off relationship between the perceived danger and cautious behaviors.

Chinese Journal of cardiovascular Rehabilitation Medicine 2014;23(4):404-407
Objective:To explore the relationship between glycosylated hemoglobin (HbA1c)and carotid artery atheroscle-rosis in aged patients with normal glucose tolerance. Methods:A total of 100 aged patients with normal glucose tolerance were selected.Their bilateral carotid arteries were measured by color Doppler ultrasonography. They were grouped accord-ing to carotid intima-media thickness (C-IMT,normal,thicken and atherosclerosis)and plaque form (no plaque, hard plaque and soft plaque);blood pressure, blood lipids and HbA1c etc.were compared among groups. Results: (1)Along with CIMT rose, there was significant increase in HbA1c level [(4.98 ± 0.55)% vs.(5.51 ± 0.42)% vs.(5.92 ± 0.39)%],and there was significant difference between any two groups (P<0.01 all);(2)HbA1c level was (5.36±0.51)%,(5.89±0.44)% and (5.97±0.2)% in no plaque group, hard plaque group and soft plaque group respectively, and there was significant difference among hard plaque group, soft plaque group and no plaque group (P <0.01 all).Conclu-sion:Glycosylated hemoglobin may become an important index assessing carotid atherosclerosis in aged people.
4.Idiopathic carpal tunnel syndrome:a saddle-spaded transverse carpal ligament and its ;significances
Chinese Journal of Radiology 2016;50(5):367-370
Objective To explore the MRI characteristics of saddle transverse carpal ligament (TCL)of patients with idiopathic carpal tunnel syndrome (CTS). Methods The clinical diagnosis of 21 cases of idiopathic CTS patients (22 wrists) were retrospectively analyzed and as the idiopathic CTS group. Thirty two patients without CTS symptoms or TCL and volar soft tissue lesions (33 wrist joints) were selected as the control group. Patients in two groups were both conducted with sagittal and axial MRI scan of wrist joint to observe the form of the TCL, determine whether the TCL saddle and calculate the TCL palmar concave curvature and the median nerve compression rate. The differences of the morphology of the TCL of patients in two groups were compared by Chi?square criterion, and the difference of the TCL palmar concave curvature were compared by non parametric test. The relativity of TCL palmar correlation concave curvature and compression ratio of the median nerve of patients with idiopathic CTS was evaluated by the Pearson correlation analysis. Results The sagittal plane of patients with idiopathic CTS was upper, saddle shaped TCL was dented to the palmar and the concave point most frequently located in the hamate hook. Thirty one patients were with saddle shaped TCL (20 patients with idiopathic CTS and 11 patients in the control group) and 24 patients were with non saddle shaped TCL (2 patients with idiopathic CTS and 22 patients in the control group) as the standard of saddle shaped TCL concave 0.25 mm and the difference of the morphology of the TCL of patients in two groups had statistical significance (χ2= 17.791, P<0.01). The median of TCL palmar concave curvature of patients with idiopathic CTS and patients in the control group was 8.49%and 0.00%, respectively, the difference of which was statistically significant (Z=-4.79, P<0.01). The level of the median nerve, the TCL palmar concave curvature [(7.88+4.28)%] and the median nerve compression rate [(39.36 + 19.43)% ] of patients with idiopathic CTS were positively correlated (r=0.714, P<0.01). Conclusions Saddle shaped TCL is the characteristic manifestation of patients with idiopathic CTS. The TCL sagittal concave palm and median nerve compression percentage rate are both helpful to the accurate diagnosis.

Chinese Journal of Primary Medicine and Pharmacy 2013;20(16):2462-2464
Objective To explore the curative effect of loop electrosurgical excision procedure (LEEP) on cervical intra-epithelial neoplasia(CIN) infected with high risk human papilloma virus (HR-HPV).Methods 80 CIN patients with HPV infection underwent LEEP were selected.HR-HPV DNA load was detected before operation and 3 months after operation, and at the same time, vaginal examination and cervical directed biopsy were conducted. Results Before LEEP operation, the differences between different levels of CIN HPV load were not significant(P >0.05,F =0.45).3 months after operation,CIN Ⅰ grade 19 cases (86.4%) turned to chronic inflammation,CIN Ⅱgrade 36 cases (83.7%) turned to chronic inflammation,CINⅢ grade 13 patients (86.6%) were chronic inflammation.Cervical HPV load postoperatively negative rate was 85% and the lower HPV load, the higher postoperatively negative rate. Conclusion LEEP is the effective treatment for cervical lesion and can significantly decrease the HPV-DNA loading at cervix.
6. Clinical and coronary angiographic analysis of elderly patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus combined with coronary heart disease
Academic Journal of Second Military Medical University 2010;30(3):286-290
Objective: To analyze the association of type 2 diabetes mellitus (DM) with the clinical and coronary angiographic features of coronary heart disease (CHD) in patients aged over 70 years old. Methods: A total of 310 elderly patients with coronary angiograph-confirmed coronary diseases, who were treated in Changhai Hospital during Apr. 2006 to Jul. 2008, were retrospectively analyzed. The patients were further divided into 2 subgroups according to the presence of DM: DM-CHD group (n = 155) and non-DM-CHD group (n = 155). The age, gender, blood pressure, blood lipid, ejection fraction (EF), the angiographic outcomes, etc. were analyzed and compared between the two groups. Results: The incidence of hypertension was significantly higher in the DM-CHD group than in the non-DM-CHD group (P<0.05). The fasting blood glucose (FBG), triglyceride (TG), low density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C), and fibrinogen (FIB) were significantly higher than those in the other group (P<0.01), and the high density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C) was lower than that in the other group (P<0.05). The EF value in the DM-CHD group was significantly lower than that in the non-DM-CHD group (P< 0.01). Among the 35 (22%) patients preliminarily diagnosed as having DM, 14 (40%) would be misdiagnosed if the diagnosis depends solely on FBG without oral glucose tolerance test (OGTT). The prevalence of diffusive coronary lesions in the DM-CHD group was significantly higher than that in the non DM group (P<0.01). DM-CHD group also had significantly higher coronary stenosis index (P<0.01) and more occlusive vessels than non-DM-CHD group. Conclusion: The missed diagnosis rate of DM is high in CHD patients. Compared with non-DM-CHD patients, DM-CHD patients are at higher risks for coronary disease and have more severe coronary lesions.
