Chinese Journal of Ocular Fundus Diseases 2011;27(4):353-355
Objective To investigate the clinical efficacy and surgical timing of vitrectomy combined with silicone oil tamponade for severe infectious endophthalmitis. Methods Sixty-two patients (62 eyes)with endophthalmitis, diagnosed by the examinations of the best corrected visual acuity (BCVA),intraocular pressure, slit-lamp microscopy, direct and (or) indirect ophthalmoscopy and ocular B-ultrasound. There are 44, 17 and 1 eyes with posttraumatic, postoperative and endogenous infectious endophthalmitis, respectively. The patients were randomly divided into the group A (32 eyes) and B (30eyes). The former was treated immediately by vitrectomy combined with silicone oil tamponade after diagnosis, while the latter was treated by the same surgery after drug treatment depended on patients'choice. Vitreous purulence was taken in all patients before vitrectomy for bacterial, fungal culture and drug sensitivity test. 19/62 (30.65%) vitreous samples were positive for culture. The follow-up was ranged from 6 to 26 months. The visual acuity, intraocular pressure and eye retention situation before and after surgery were comparatively analyzed. Results In group A, endophthalmitis was controlled in all eyes after surgery;the visual acuity and intraocular pressure improved significantly after surgery (χ2=43.72, 6.83; P<0.05). In group B, endophthalmitis was controlled in 19/30 eyes (63.33%) after surgery; evisceration was performed on 11 eyes (36.67%) because of the atrophy of the eyeball. There was no significant difference of visual acuity before and after surgery. Conclusions Vitrectomy combined with silicone oil tamponade is an effective way to cure severe infected endophthalmitis. Performing the surgery immediately after the diagnosis is the key to achieve good effect.

4.Danger perception and cautious behavior of mice in an elevated board task
Chinese Journal of Behavioral Medicine and Brain Science 2008;17(7):581-583
Objective To study the cautious behaviors of mice under dangerous conditions caused by height. Methods An elevated beard task was designed,in which the mice were employed to get through a horizontally elevated beard. The time of getting through and number of looking-aside behaviors were recorded under different experimental conditions with different elevated height and visual cues. Results The mean time of getting through the elevated board with a height of 60cm was significantly longer than that of 15cm [(22.55±14.64)s Vs (12.16±8.67)s, P<0.05]. The number of looking-aside behaviors decreased from (2.95±1.73) to (1.95± 1.27) , P <0.05 ,when the visual cues on potential danger were controlled. Conclusion The cautious behaviors increase with the height of elevated board and decrease when controlling for the visual cues on potential danger, which indicate a trade-off relationship between the perceived danger and cautious behaviors.

7.The pituitary-bone axis in bone metabolism
Chinese Journal of Endocrinology and Metabolism 2011;27(2):184-188
Recent studies have shown that pituitary hormones, including thyroid stimulating hormone (TSH), follicle stimulating hormone(FSH), adrenocorticotropic hormone(ACTH), and oxytocin(OT)may actually bypass their target endocrine organs and affect the skeleton directly. Therefore, a new conception, pituitary-bone axis is proposed. This breakthrough sheds a new light on the function of pituitary hormones and the pathogenesis of osteoporosis associated with hyperthyroidism, menopause or pregnancy, and even osteonecrosis after using glucocorticoids. In addition, it is conducive to give the reference guidance for clinical treatment of metabolic bone diseases and new drug development.

9.A GO analysis of gene expression on the inhibitory effect of endostatin on mouse choroidal neovascularization
Journal of Xi'an Jiaotong University(Medical Sciences) 2014;(3):333-337
Objective To study the gene expression on the inhibitory effect of endostatin on choroidal neovascularization in C57BL/6J mice and the mechanisms. Methods Photocoagulation using 532 nm diode laser was performed to establish a CNV model in mice’s eye.The mice were randomly divided into three groups:blank group (model group);endostatin group (experimental group),in which endostatin of 0.01 mg/2μL was given intravitreally;and saline group (control group),which received intravitreal injection of 2μL of 0.9 g/L saline.Four samples selected respectively from experimental group and control group were used to complete the gene expression profiling analysis.By comparing the differences of gene expression between the two groups,we selected the genes with expression difference ≥ 1.5 times and P ≤ 0.05. Results CD105 marking showed that choroidal neovascularization was significantly lower in endostatin group than in control group. The gene expression analysis showed that 1 1 6 genes were up-regulated and 1 0 6 genes were down-regulated in endostatin group compared with control group.GO analysis indicated that endostatin could inhibit cell activity and growth, but did not initiate the activity of the immune system, and even suppress it.Conclusion Endostatin can inhibit the activity and locomotion of endothelial cells and synergically inhibits the immune system, thus suppressing choroidal neovascular-ization.
10.Cell morphology and micronuclei in oral exfoliative cells
Journal of Practical Stomatology 2001;0(01):-
砄bjective: To evaluate the diagnostic significance of exfoliative cytological examination and micronucleus assay. Methods: 26 cases of leukoplasia (LK) and 18 cases of oral squamous cell carcinoma (SCC) were examined. Cells were scrapped from the lesions, stained with Papaniceolaou. The keratinization types and the configuration of the cells were studied. Smears were also stained using the Feulgen plus fast green method. The frequency of micronucleated cells was counted. Results: Mixed keratinization was observed in all 15 cases of LK without dysplasia and in 7 out of 11 cases of LK with dysplasia. Parakeratosis was found in 17 out of 18 cases of SCC. There was a significant difference of cell keratinization types and cytologic diagnosis between the cases of LK and SCC( P 0.05).Conclusion: Parakeratosis in oral exfoliative cells may indicate a high risk of malignance.
