Objective To investigate the incidence and its related factors of apathy in patients with acute ischemic stroke. Methods A total of 100 consecutive cases of ischemic stroke patients and 50 health controls were recruited in the present study. Apathy was assessed using modified apathy evaluation scale (MAES). According to the MAES score, acute ischemic stroke patients were divided into apathy group (MAES was more than 14 points) and non-apathy group. The differences of general information, clinical data, national institutes of health stroke scale (NIHSS), Montreal cognitive assessment (MoCA), Hamilton depression scale (HAMD), modified rankin scale (mRS) and the lesion location were compared between the two groups. Differences that showed statistical significance (P<0.05) went into the multi-factor analysis. The Logistic regression analysis was used to estimate the influence factors of apathy. Results There were 34 cases of apathy in patient group (34.00%), which was significantly higher than those of control group (3 cases of apathy, 6.00%, P<0.001). The age, incidence of diabetes, NIHSS score, HAMD score, lesions in brain stem and multiple lesions were significantly higher in apathy group than that of non-apathy group, while educational level, MoCA score were significantly lower ( P<0.05). The Logistic regression analysis showed that the higher MoCA score was a protective factor for apathy, while higher NIHSS score, lesions in brain stem and multiple lesions were risk factors for the incidence apathy. Conclusion The cognitive impairment, severity of neurological deficits, brainstem lesions and multiple lesions may be the risk factors of apathy after the occurrence of acute ischemic stroke.

Xylazine (2mg,4mg ? kg-1,sc),clonidine(120 ?g ? kg-1,sc) exhibited the inhibitory effect of gastrointestinal basic electrical rhythm on the stomach, duodenum, jejunum and ileum in rats.The inhibitory effects of these drugs were the strongest at 30 min after administration of Compounds. Yohimibine (4mg ? kg-1,sc) was found to antagonize the inhibitory effect of xylazine (4mg ? kg-1,sc) on the gastrointestinal basic electrical Rhythm.

ObjectiveTo explore the correlation of unknown gene AI408225 and humoral immunity involved in rat regenerating liver. MethodsIsolation of rat 8 liver cell types, detection of their genes expression change were accorded to Percoll density gradient centrifugation combined with immune magnetic beads separation method, and their genes sequence homoeology and coexpression relation were analyzed by Microsoft Excel, BLAST software, and the prediction physiological activities were analyzed by bioinformatics and systematic biology. Results A total of 93 humoral immunity-ass ociated genes yielded the meaningful expression changes in liver regeneration, the corresponding gene numbers in 8 liver cell types included hepatocytes, bile duct epithelial cells, oval cells, hepatic stellate cells, sinus endothelial cells, Kupffer cells, pit cells and dendritic cells were 33, 46, 17, 59, 48, 35, 53, 68. Among that AI408225 and cd4 are homology and coexpression.Conclusion The rat liver regeneration is closely associated with humoral immunity, and AI408225 participates in the formation of compound of MHC II-antigen peptide-CD4-TCR.

Objective To evaluate the clinical outcome of alcohol-deactivated autograft-prosthesis composite after resection of bone giant cell tumor in distal femur.Methods From January 2007 to October 2008,5 patients with bone giant cell tumor in distal femur were treated with alcohol-deactivated autograftprosthesis composite,including 3 males and 2 females with an average age of 29.6 years(range,22-40).Three patients were diagnosed with postoperative recurrence,and 2 with pathological fracture.All patients were of Campanacci Ⅲ.Three-dimensional finite element models with 40% bone defect in distal femur were established based on CT images of a healthy volunteer.Three times of body mass load corresponding to the normal walking gait cycle was applied.The influence on stress distribution of femur-cement and prosthesis stem was analyzed.Results All patients were followed up for average 37 months,there was no infection,recurrence,loosening and limb length inequality.The bony healing time was 6 to 11 months.The mean MSTS function score was 25.7(range,25-27).The mean ISOLS graft score was 31.4 (range,28-35).The finite element analysis showed that for the short-term model,the maximum stress was 145.82 MPa in the proximal femur,40.90 MPa in the medial side of 1/4 proximal cement,and 389.24 MPa in the proximal prosthesis stem.The maximum stress was not exceeding the fatigue strength in three sites.For the long-term model,with the bone healing,the maximum stress on three sites decreased to 139.05,36.95,and 253.65 MPa,respectively.Conclusion These results suggest that the alcohol-deactivated autograft-prosthesis composite after resection ot bone giant cell tumor in distal femur can reduce the tumor recurrence and improve the short-term limb function,It is stable in short term and can reduce stress shielding in long term.

Objective To investigate technique and effect of reconstruction with alcohol-inactivated autograft-prosthesis composite after en bloc resection of giant cell tumor of bone around the knee.Methods From January 2007 to October 2008,8 patients with Campanacci grade Ⅲ giant cell tumor of bone around the knee underwent en bloc resection of tumor and reconstruction with alcohol-inactivated autograft-prosthesis composite in our hospital.There were 5 males and 3 females,aged from 20 to 43 years (average,31years).The tumor located in distal femur in 5 cases and proximal tibia in 3 cases.There were 4 cases of primary tumor and 4 cases of recurrent tumor.Two patients combined with pathological fracture.The Musculoskeletal Tumor Society (MSTS) score was used to evaluate limb function,and the International Society of Limb Salvage (ISOLS) score was used for radiographic evaluation.Results All patients were followed up for 38 to 67 months (average,54 months).No recunrence,metastasis,prosthesis loosening were found.The mean healing time of autograft and host bone was 5.5 months.At final follow-up,the MSTS score ranged from 25 to 29 [average,26.3 (88％)]; the ISOLS score ranged from 28 to 35 [average,32.8 (88.5％)].Creeping substitution was possibly the main way of bone union.The healing time in femoral lesion was faster than that in tibial lesion.Conclusion For Campanacci grade Ⅲ giant cell tumor of bone around the knee,en bloc resection and reconstruction with alcohol-inactivated autograft-prosthesis composite is an effective method,which can provide satisfactory results.

Objective To approach the effect of fluoride on the expression of thyroid peroxidase(TPO)activity and TPO mRNA in primary porcine thyrocytes.Methods Purified cultured porcine thyrocytes waft made into sodium fluoride model,and were divided according to the final concentration of NaF into 0(control group),40,80,160 mg/L.After exposed to NaF for 48 h,the morphology of the porcine thyrocytes was investigated with acridine orange staining method,TPO activity was measured with upgrade guaiacol method and RT-PCR method was used to detect the ratio of TPO/β-actin.Results The major changes included apoptotic bodies and cell fragments in the 80,160 mg/L groups under phase contrast microscope.With the increasing dose of fluoride.TPO activity,being(3.103±0.090),(1.944±0.025),(1.361±0.008),(0.668±0.026)U/L,respectively,had obviously lowered with a statistical significance compared between the groups(F=1563.864,P＜0.05).The TPO activity had a negative correlation with the dose of fluoride(r=-0.955,P＜0.05).With the dose of fluoride increasing,the expression of TPO mRNA had obviously lowered,being(0.947±0.013),(0.634±0.018),(0.448±0.028)and (0.210±0.009)with a statistical significance in group comparison(F=2713.855,P＜0.05).Conclusion Fluoride affects the thyroid via inhibiting TPO activity and expression of TPO mRNA.

The JC virus is a widely infected human polyomavirus. Recent foreign researches showed that the JC virus infection is correlated with tumors of nervous system and digestive system, while, and study on the relationship between JC virus infection and gynecological tumor is seldom reported. In this study, we first establish the nucleic acid detection methods and procedures for JC virus and its highly homologous BK virus. The JC and BK viruses infection was evaluated by detect the viral DNA in samples including biopsy tissues, serum as well as urine of myoma of uterus (98 cases), cervical cancer (84 cases), endometrial cancer (40 cases) and ovarian tumor (72 cases) patients. The BK viral DNA positive rate was significantly higher in urine samples than that of blood and biopsy samples, and there is no significant difference of the BK viral DNA positive rate among all patient groups. The JC viral DNA positive rate is almost 0 in serum samples and biopsy. tissues, however, viral DNA positive rate is more than 50% in urine samples. In fibroids group, the JC viral DNA positive rate is up to 65. 3% which is significantly higher than that in other patients groups and healthy control. Further gynecological tumor associated viruses detection showed that only human papilloma virus infection is associated with cervical cancer, the herpes simplex virus, EB virus and cytomegalovirus infection is extremely low in our patient groups. No synergistic effect on gynecological tumor caused by viruses co-infection was observed. Our study showed that JC virus infection is highly related to the pathogenesis of uterine fibroids.

With the development of natural products, the research activities on the solubilization methods of water-insoluble natural products have been carried out worldwide. Big molecular weight and poor solubility of most natural active ingredients lead to a very poor oral absorption and low bioavailability, which has extremely limited their development in pharmaceutical fields and clinical application. As a result, it is necessary to find out a suitable technique to improve the solubility and enhance the oral bioavailability of insoluble natural drugs. Based on the related references published in these years, this review introduced some new techniques to improve the solubility and bioavailability of natural drugs, including prodrugs, inclusion complex, solid dispersion, cocrystals, osmotic pump, liquisolid compacts, micronization, self-microemulsifying, nanosuspensions, lipsomes, polymeric micelles and so on, and summarized the theory, characteristics, application range, application examples, problems and development direction of each technique.

Objective To investigate the expressions of stern cell markers CD133,nestin and CD44 in malignant melanoma and their significance.Methods Tissue samples were obtained from 30 patients with malignant melanoma and 30 patients with intradermal nevus.The expressions of three markers were immunohistochemically detected in the samples.Results In malignant melanoma specimens,the expression rate of CD133,nestin and CD44 was 53.33%(16/30),80.00%(24/30)and 20.00%(6/30),respectively,significantly difierent from that in intradermal nevus specimens [23.33%(7/30),53.33%(1 6/30)and 0,respectively,all P＜0.05].The percentage of cells positive for CD133,nestin and CD44 was 2.98%±5.62%,34.92%±34.89%and 1.28%±3.26%,respectively,in malignant melanoma specimens.0.10%±0.21%,7.26%±13.13%and 0,respectively,in intradermal nevus specimens;there was a significant difierence between the two groups of specimens(all P＜0.05).In malignant melanoma and intradermal nevus,the expression intensity of CD133.nestin and CD44 showed no significant correlation with patients'sex.age or disease course(all P＞0.05).ConclusionsCD133,nestin and CD44 are highly expressed in malignant melanoma,but weakly expressed or absent in intradermal nevus,suggesting that tumor stem cells might exist in malignant melanoma tissue.
