1.Comparison between Traditional Science of Chinese Materia Medica and Pharmacognosy
China Pharmacy 2005;0(15):-
OBJECTIVE:To distinguish between the traditional science of Chinese materia medica and the pharmacognosy and discuss the developmental direction of the traditional Chinese medicine.METHODS:The differences between the traditional science of Chinese materia medica and the pharmacognosy in rationale, research contents, medical treatment principles and identification of the quality of the traditional Chinese medicine were compared to clarify that the pharmacognosy and traditional science of Chinese materia medica are completely different concepts.RESULTS:At present, the science of Chinese materia medica is constrained by the theory of pharmacognosy, and the traditional science of Chinese materia medica is tended to be gradually replaced by the western-medicine-theory-based pharmacognosy.CONCLUSION:It is necessary to reconsider and discuss the developmental direction of the traditional Chinese medicine.Modern research on Chinese medicine should follow the natural laws of the Chinese medicine itself rather than following the development mode of the western medicines.

International Journal of Laboratory Medicine 2016;37(17):2389-2391
Objective To investigate the clinical value of 6‐indicator of albumin ,alpha 1 globulin ,alpha 2 globulin ,beta 1 globu‐lin ,beta 2 globulin and gamma globulin detected by the automatic capillary serum protein electrophoresis in liver cancer disease . Methods Eighty‐three hospitalized patients(51 cases of primary liver cancer and 32 cases of secondary liver cancer) in our hospital from December 2014 to November 2015 were collected .The automatic biochemical analyzer and automatic capillary serum protein e‐lectrophoresis was adopted to detect the 8 indicators of serum albumin(g/L for quantitative indicator and % for qualitative indica‐tor) ,total protein ,alpha 1 globulin ,alpha 2 globulin ,beta 1 globulin ,beta 2 globulin ,gamma globulin .And 100 individuals undergo‐ing the healthy physical examination were randomly extracted as the control group .The levels of above 8 indicators were compared among various groups .Results The level of albumin(% ) and gamma globulin had statistical difference between the primary liver cancer group before treatment and the control group(P<0 .05);the levels of albumin(g/L) ,albumin(% ) ,beta 1 globulin and gam‐ma globulin had statistical difference between the primary liver cancer group after treatment and the control group(P<0 .05);the levels of albumin(g/L) and albumin(% ) after treatment in the primary liver cancer group were decreased compared with before treatment ,the difference was statistical difference(P<0 .05);the sensitivity and specificity of gamma globulin for indicating primary liver cancer were significantly higher than those of the other three indicators;at the same time in the comparison of the positive rate of serum gamma globulin ,the positive rate of serum gamma globulin in the primary liver cancer group was higher than that in the secondary liver cancer group and the control group(P<0 .05) .Conclusion The automatic capillary serum protein electrophoresis detection finds that gamma globulin has some clinical value in the diagnosis and treatment of liver cancer .

Chinese Journal of New Drugs and Clinical Remedies 2007;26(5):321-327
AIM: To evaluate the efficacy and safety of neurotropin in the treatment of neuropathic pain.METHODS: A systematic literature search was performed in biomedical database including MEDLINE,EMBASE, Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials, CBM and CNKI. All studies focused on the clinical controlled trials, especially randomized controlled trials (RCTs) . The outcome measures included efficacy, life quality, cost of the treatment and adverse reactions. Quality assessments of clinical trials were evaluated with Jadad Score. Meta-analysis of included studies was performed with Revman software. RESULTS: Twenty-six clinical trials were included. Jadad Score of 24 trials was less than 3, which indicated the poor quality of the trials. None of the clinical trials evaluated the changes in life quality and cost related to neurotropin treatment.Meta analysis of 11 trials indicated neurotropin was more effective than placebo or blank, and the odds ratio of efficacy was 3.84 [2.68, 5.50] . The combining effect of 6 RCTs showed that neurotropin decreased the pain scores measured by Visual Analog Scale significantly compared with placebo or blank, the weighted mean difference (WMD) was -1.76 [-2.31, -1.21] . The pooled effects of the trials comparing neurotropin with other pain relieving drugs such as earbamazepine or NSAIDs also showed positive effect favored neurotropin.Neurotropin had no more adverse reactions than placebo, carbamazepine or NSAIDs, and the pooled risk difference was -0.01 [-0.04, 0.02] . CONCLUSION: According to present evidence, neurotropin may be effective and safe in the treatment of neuropathic pain. However, the poor quality of the studies decreases the persuasion of the results. Large-scale and well-designed RCTs with enough follow-ups should be carried out to provide further evidence for the use of neurotropin in neuropathie pain.

Chinese Journal of Primary Medicine and Pharmacy 2012;19(16):2405-2406
ObjectiveTo study the relationship between EphA2 and laryngeal carcinoma angionegesis.MethodsImmunohistochemical staining was used to determine the expression of EphA2 and CD34 in 20 normal squamous epithelium tissues and 50 laryngeal carcinoma. The relationship between EphA2 expression and Microvascular density was analyzed bg Spearman correlation and linear regression.ResultsThe MVD in laryngeal carcinoma (54.89 ± 13.67) was significantly higher than that in normal squamous epithelial tissues ( 17.15 ± 5.21 ) ; The EphA2 in laryngeal carcinoma(4.56 ± 1.38) was significantly higher than that in normal squamous epithelial tissues ( 2.49 ± 1.23 ) ( t =16.721,5.847,all P < 0.05 ).There was significant positive linear correlation between EphA2 and MVD in laryngeal squamous cell carcinoma(P < 0.01 ).ConclusionEphA2 may correlate with angionegesis in laryngeal squamous cell carcinoma.

The metabolic syndrome represents a complex combination of the symptoms obesity, hypertension, diabetes, and dyslipoproteinemia. Insulin resistance is the major pathophysiologjcal basis of the metabolic syndrome. There is a close association between the metabolic syndrome and its various components and vascular cognitive impairment. This article briefly reviews the mechanisms of metabolic syndrome caused vascular cognitive impairment, and summarizes the significance of controlling metabolic syndrome on the prevention and treatment of vascular cognitive impairment.

China Journal of Orthopaedics and Traumatology 2015;28(8):738-742
OBJECTIVETo explore the value of the application of oil red O staining in spinal cord injury (SCI) of rats.
METHODSWith simple randomization, 24 Spargue-Dawley male rats were divided into normal control group including 6, and SCI group including 18. Spinal cord was transected at spinal lever T10 to build SCI model. Six rats of SCI group were sacrificed randomly at 1, 2, 4 weeks after surgery. After the spinal cord tissue sections were made, oil red O staining methods were used to observe the changes at the end of transected spinal cord. Images were analyzed by Image-Pro Plus 6.0 and SPSS 20.0 software.
RESULTSThe oil red O staining of normal control group showed that white matter surrounded by myelin sheath was clear and obviously distinctive from grey matter. Uneven and strengthened staining in oil O was observed in grey matter of SCI group at 1, 2, 4 weeks post-SCI.
CONCLUSIONIt is a good method to label the myelin sheath in spinal cord and distinct white matter from grey matter by oil red O staining. Analysis of the images showed that lipid may become another target for drugs, which needs more researches.
