Aim To study the change of the expression of the gp80 and gp130 subunits of the IL- 6 receptor (IL- 6R)in the osteoporotic bone marrow, to explore the role of IL- 6 receptor system in the osteoporosis resulted from the loss of estrogen.Methods Twenty female 12- week old SD rats [weight (200± 20) g] were randomly divided into 2 groups: the osteoporosis model group (10 rats),the control group (10 rats).Respectively in the 0th ,12th week after ovariectomy to analyze the levels of gp80 and gp130.Results In the 0th,12th week after ovariectomy,the level of gp130 (pg/μ g total RNA): the control group's level had no significant change (80± 3 vs 82± 4,t=0.85,P >0.05), while the osteoporosis group's level became significant higher (80± 3 vs 290± 40,t=6.46,P< 0.01).In the 0th ,12th week after ovariectomy, the level of gp80(pg/μ g total RNA): the control group's level had no significant change (85.4± 2.7 vs 85.6± 2.8,t=0.35,P >0.05), while the osteoporosis group's level became significant higher (85.4± 2.7 vs 210± 40,t=6.32,P< 0.01).Conclusion There was a significant increase of the expressions of gp130 and gp80 in the bone marrow of osteoporotic rat.

Objective To study the population's iodine nutritional status of Yanping area of Nanping City,Fujian Province,and to provide scientific basis for prevention and control of iodine deficiency disorders (IDD).Methods According to 2014 Key Population Iodine Nutrition in Fujian Province and the Related Health Monitoring Programme,five subareas were selected according to the five directions as east,west,south,north and centre in Yanping area,and one township was selected in each subarea.In addition,one subdistrict administrative office was chosen in urban area,and one neighborhood committee was selected as a monitoring site.Water iodine detection:two water samples from centralized water supply pipe were collected in selected townships and subdistrict administrative office,and arsenic cerium catalytic spectrophotometry was used to detect the level of water iodine.Salt iodine detection:four administrative villages were selected in each monitoring township,15 households were selected in each village,and a total of 300 households were selected;and 31 households were selected in urban area.The General Test Method for Determination of Iodine in Salt Industry (GB/T 13025.7-1999) was used to detect the level of edible salt iodine.Urinary iodine detection:①children aged 8-10 years old:one primary school was chosen in each monitoring township,30 children aged 8 to 10 were selected in each primary school,and a total of 150 children (half males and half females) were selected;one primary school was chosen in monitoring urban area,and 100 children (half males and half females) aged 8 to 10 were selected;②pregnant women and nursing mothers:20 pregnant women in each monitoring village were selected,and a total of 100 pregnant women were selected;50 pregnant women and 50 nursing mothers were selected in urban area;③adults aged 18 to 45 years old:50 adults (half males and half females) were selected in urban area.Urine samples at random times during the day were collected,and Arsenic Cerium Catalytic Spectrophotometry for Test of Urinary Iodine (WS/T 107-2006) was used to detect the level of urinary iodine.Goiter examination of children aged 8 to 10:palpation was used to examine goiter of all children.Results A total of 12 drinking water samples were collected,the levels of water iodine were all ＜ 3.5 μg/L.A total of 331 edible salt samples were collected,the median of salt iodine was 23.3 mg/kg,iodized salt coverage rate was 100.0％ (331/331),and qualified iodized salt consumption rate was 93.1％ (308/331).A total of 250 children were examined by the thyroid palpation,the rate of goiter was 0.8％ (2/250);the median of urinary iodine was 174.0 μg/L;the medians of children in rural and urban areas were 192.3 and 155.7 μg/L,respectively,the difference was statistically significant (Z =-3.582,P ＜ 0.01),and urinary iodine level of rural children was higher than that of urban children.Totally 150 pregnant women urine samples,50 nursing mothers urine samples,52 adults urine samples were collected,respectively,the medians were 143.7,116.2 and 115.6 μg/L,respectively,urinary iodine of pregnant women was lower than national standard (≥ 150 μg/L).Conclusions The population's iodine nutrition level is appropriate.At the same time,there are special people (pregnant women) at risk of iodine deficiency.

Objective To quantify the effect of gradual respiratory functional training on the lung function and quality of life (QOL) of patients convalescing from Guillain-Barré syndrome (GBS). Methods Thirty-two GBS patients were randomly divided into two groups a control group which received routine nursing and a respiratory function training group.The training was in three stages:thoracic or/and abdominal respiration,deep breathing and respiratory exercise.After 2 and 4 months of treatment,the 16 min walk test and the SF-36 health questionnaire were used to evaluate the subjects' lung function,motor capacity and QOL. Results After 2 and 4 months of treatment,vital capacity (VC),forced vital capacity (FVC),forced expiratory volume in one second (FEV1) and maximal ventilatory volume (MVV) had all improved significantly in the training group.Their 6 min walk distances and QOL ( in all 8 domains) had also improved significantly.The average VC.FVC.FEV1 and MVV in the control group all decreased slightly but the decreases were not significant.Their 6 min walk distances had improved significantly,however,as had the physical function,mental health.psychological role,physical pain and integrated health domains of their QOL. Conclusion Training the respiratory functional of GBS patients during convalescence can prevent the lung function decay due to muscle weakness,and can also improve motor ability and QOL.

Objective To evaluate the therapeutic effect of steam inhalation of ?2-adrenergic agents combined with anticholinergic agents for patients with chronic obstructive lung disease(COPD) acute attack.Methods 64 patients with COPD acute attack were divided into two groups at random.The control group were under regular treatment,the therapy group were treated with steam inhalation of ?2-adrenergic agents combined with anticholinergic agents besides regular treatment.Results Symptoms and pulmonary function showed distinctly better in therapy group than in control group.Conclusion Steam inhalation of ?2-adrenergic agents combined with anticholinergic agents is an efficacious way to treat the patients with COPD acute attack.

Objective To establish a novel method for rapid identification and drug resistance of Moraxella catarrhalis, Different sourses of blood and the formula of chocklate agars were detected the Growth Index(GI). Methods Moraxella catarrhalis from specimens contaminated by microbial flora were isolated with a choclate agar with 50 mg/L vancomycin (CHOC-V) method. Nine media were inoculated,on which GI were calculated and compared. beta-Lactamase were determined by nitrocefin slip method. Results 228 strains of Moraxella catarrhalis and 203 strains of recent limbus bacteria were examined. The sensitivity of this method was 100%,and the specificity was 100%. Objective:To investigate the knowledge, attitudes and practice of child sexual abuse (CSA) prevention education in parents of elementary school pupils.Method:Two hundred and seventy one parents were surveyed by anonymous self-administered questionnaire in five classes of grade 1 to grade 5 of a elementary school. The questions about awareness of CSA and communications on how to prevent CSA with their children were asked.Result:Among this sample, 93.6% of parents approved of school CSA prevention education. Overall, about half parents lack of knowledge of CSA prevention, the communications with their children were also not enough. Only 1.8% of parents had provided books or audiovisuals about CSA prevention for their children. The scores of knowledge, attitudes and practice of CSA prevention education of parents whose parents addressed this in their childhood were significantly higher than those of parents who had no this experience.Conclusions:The research of CSA prevention education in elementary school should be paid more attention, to produce related books and audiovisuals as soon as possible, to increase parents' awareness of CSA prevention.

Objective To investigate the action of integron-mediated multidrug resistance in clinical multi-resistant Pseudomonas aeruginosa.Methods The strains of multi-resistant Pseudomonas aeruginosa were selected with K-B susceptibility method. The three-dimensional method was taken to differentiate the various beta-lactamases. The integron was determined by PCR with integron-specific primer. DNA sequencing was also used to analyze resistance-related gene in the integron in multi-resistant Pseudomonas aeruginosa.Results The positive rate of integron detection in multi-resistant Pseudomonas aeruginosa was 42.4%.Three kinds of different length integron were found .They were 750bp,1 000bp and 2 500bp and aadB,aadA2,aadB,aac6-II and PSE-1 were the resistance-related gene cassette in the integrons.Conclusions Integron took part in mutiple resistance in multi-resistant Pseudomonas aeruginosa.We should pay more attention to integron-mediated horizontal transference of mulidurg resistance to lessen the occurrence of multi-resistant strains.

Objective Correctly identify Streptococcus pneumoniae resistant to optochin and other alpha hemolytic streptococcus susceptible to optochin.Methods Optochin susceptibility test, bile resolution test, latex agglutination test as well as some biochemical methods (VITEKCC4-GPI identifying cards,API-Strept identifying bar, VITEK TWO-GPC identifying cards) were applied.Results It was observed that 2 strains(0.3%)of Streptococcus pneumoniae out of 630 were resistant to optochin and 31strains of Streptococci, classfied as alpha hemolytic streptococci, susceptible to optochin, including 13 of S. mitis, 6 of S.oralis, 6 of S. twin, 3 of S. acidominimus, 2 of S.intermedius and 1 of S. constellatus. The inhibition zone of these alpha hemolytic streptococci susceptible sensitive to optochin was within the range of 14-17mm in diameter, in not 20 mm or more than 20 mm, compared with the inhibition zone of most strains of S.pneumoniae. Most of these alpha hemolytic streptococci (93.5%) susceptible to optochin showed highly resistance to benzoxazolecillin,to which most Streptococci (94%) showed sensitivity . Conclusion S.pneumoniae can be effectively identified by bile resolution test and latex agglutination test because of its high specificity with credible test results. API-Strept identifying bar and VITEK TWO-GPC identifying cards can be applied to identify S. pneumoniae resistant to optochin.

Objective　To select suitable media for increasing isolation rate of haemophilus.Methods　Haemophilus was inoculated on seven types of media.The average growth index(GI) of Haemophilus was calculated and Haemophilus was isolated from 325 specimens of the respiratory tract and its isolation rate was compared with that media of brchoc and brchoc-V agare.Results　The GI of media with 2% fresh yeast infusion and 50% of meat infusion was higher than that of those with no yeast and meat infusion.The GI of Haemophilus on BRchoc was higher than that of the BSchoc(P<0.001).The isolation rate of Haemophilus from 325 respiratory tract specimens on BRchoc-V was 77.2%,which was significantly higher than that on the medium BRchoc (32.0%).Conclusions　BRchoc-V is a better medium for isolation of Haemophilus.This medium is effective to improve the isolation rate of Haemophilus.
