AIM:Methylglyoxal (MG) is considered as a very active free radical, which is an important contributor to diabetic complications such as cataracts. The purpose of this study was to investigate the serum MG levels and protective effects of soybean isoflavones on streptozotocin induced diabetes. METHODS:Diabetes was induced in male Sprague -Dawley rats by intraperitoneal injection of 100 mg/kg streptozotocin (STZ). Diabetic rats were then randomly di-vided into 3 groups and received a special diet supplemented with casein (diabetes),low -isoflavone soy protein (diabetes + LIS),or high-isoflavone soy protein (diabetes + HIS) for 8 weeks, respectively. RESULTS:Compared to the diabetes or diabetes + LIS groups, diabetes + HIS diet significantly increased serum insulin levels, and reduced serum glucose,HbA1c and methylglyoxal levels (P

Objective To evaluate the curative methods of periampullary diverticula(PAD) complicated with biliopancreatic disease. Methods The clinical data of 32 cases of PAD complicated with biliopancreatic disease treated by surgical or endoscopic measures were retrospectively analyzed. Results Of the 32 cases,16 cases were treated with gastroectomy and Roux-en-Y gastrojejunostomy, and 8 with gastroectomy and Billroth Ⅱ gastrojejunostomy,8 with endoscopic sphincterotomy (EST).Postoperative complication occured in 4 cases, but no operative death.Twenty-seven cases were followed up for 5 months-8 years, and the results were excellent in 20 cases, good in 7 cases. Conclusions Gastroectomy and Roux-en-Y gastrojejunostomy is a better surgical method for PAD complicated with biliopancreatic disease.EST has become a new effective measure to deal with the diseases; It will be safe to use the first method for patients with intradiverticular papilla if it treated by EST.

AIM: To investigate the effects of insulin on aortic constriction caused by endothelin-1(ET-1) in normal and hyperglycemic rats. METHODS: Hyperglycemic rat models were prepared. Two aortic rings were immersed in the Krebs-Hensleit fluid with and without insulin (40 mIU/L) and the responses of rings to 10 -9 mol/L ET-1 were observed. RESULTS:ET-1 induced more obvious aortic ring constriction in normal rats than those in hyperglycemic rats ( P

To provide necessary evidence for studying the pharmacological and clinical effectiveness of Styela clava, the quantities of 21 chemical elements in Styela clava were analysised. It was found that the quantities of several mineral elements in it were higher than that in sea water, which indicated Styela clava had a relatively high ability to concentrate mineral elements.

AIM: To make hyperglycemia models and observe the effects of hyperglycemia on expressive type transformation of vascular smooth muscle cell (VSMC) in rats METHODS: Using tissue culture and radioactivity analysis methods RESULTS:①Hyperglycemia group was lower than control group in NO - 2 content, nitric oxide synthase activity and cGMP content;②Hyperglycemia group was higher than control group in endothelin, insulin, total chdesterol and [ 3H]-TdR penetrated rate of VSMC CONCLUSION: It was possible that hyperglycemia reduces the expressive type of VSMC to change and promotes VSMC proliferation

Purpose/Significance The paper discusses the application of artificial intelligence technology to the key entity recognition ofunstructured text data in the electronic medical records of lymphedema patients.Method/Process It expounds the solution of model fine-tuning training under the background of sample scarcity,a total of 594 patients admitted to the department of lymphatic surgery of Beijing Shijitan Hospital,Capital Medical University are selected as the research objects. The prediction layer of the GlobalPointer model is fine-tuned according to 15 key entity categories labeled by clinicians, nested and non-nested key entities are identified with its glob-al pointer. The accuracy of the experimental results and the feasibility of clinical application are analyzed.Result/Conclusion After fine-tuning,the average accuracy rate, recall rate and Macro_F1 ofthe model are 0.795,0.641 and 0.697,respectively,which lay a foundation for accurate mining of lymphedema EMR data.
