AIM: To evaluate the effect of mechanical periodontal treatment combined with tetracycline on per iodontal attachment level (AL) and the avidity of serum antibody against porphyromonas gingivalis( P. gingivalis) in patients with aggressive periodontitis(AgP). METHODS: Twenty- five patients with AgP and twenty periodontally healthy controls were studied (HS). Clinical examination and recordings of AL were performed before and 3,6 and 12 months after the periodontal treatment. The avidity of IgG antibody against P. gingivalis lipopolysaccharide(LPS) was measured by diethylamine dissociation ELISA. RESULTS: A significant improvement in AL was observed following treatment ( P < 0. 01 ). The avidity of serum IgG antibody against P. gingivalis increased compared with controls, and was decreased significantly after mechanical periodontal treatment combined with tetracycline (P < 0. 01 ). CONCLUSION: Ourresults demonstrate that mechanical periodontal treatment combined with tetracycline provides clinically favorable results in patients with AgP.

OBJECTIVETo study whether As(2)O(3) has an apoptotic effect on human solid tumor cells, and the possible cellular and molecular mechanisms of this treatment using human esophageal squamous carcinoma cells (EC8712) as a model.
METHODSDNA microarray, biochemical and cytological analyses were used.
RESULTSThe growth and survival of EC8712 cells were markedly inhibited by As(2)O(3) treatment at a concentration of 1, 2 and 4 micromol/L. EC8712 cells were obviously arrested at G2/M phase with As(2)O(3) treatment and apoptosis induced at micromolar As(2)O(3) concentrations, as shown by morphology, histogram related nuclear DNA contents, and DNA gel electrophoresis. As(2)O(3) activated caspase-3, which might be involved in the process of As(2)O(3), induced apoptosis in EC8712 cells.
CONCLUSIONSAs(2)O(3) changes the expression of many genes at transcription level. The regulation of expression of many genes might be involved in the process of As(2)O(3) inducing apoptosis. These results suggest that As(2)O(3) can be clinically useful for solid tumor treatment.

7.Discussion on problems and countermeasures of military medical radiation license management
Chinese Journal of Radiological Health 2022;31(6):719-723
Practice in military medical radiation license management in the new era of military reform have surfaced problems in military radiation protection, involving radiation protection management regulation, occupational health monitoring for radiation workers, inspection of radiation equipment and site protection, implementation of the “Three Synchronizations System” for construction, renovation, and extension projects of radiation facilities, as well as quality control for radiation protection and diagnosis and treatment. Efforts should be focused on radiation protection training, self-management of medical radiation institutions, supervision and regulation from medical radiation license management institutions, and joint coordination of relevant departments. Under new regulations and standards, creatively conducting medical radiation license management and running the army in accordance with the law in the new era of military reform are of great significance for standardizing military radiation protection and ensuring the healthy development of military medical radiation services.

OBJECTIVE To explore the role of the establishment of the trans-regional review system on rational drug use in second-grade general hospital ,and to promote the rational drug use. METHODS With the administrative support of Jiuquan Health Commission,5 second-grade general hospitals in Jiuquan Medical Association jointly established Jiuquan Rational Drug Use Review Training Center . A trans-regional review system was established to carry out cross-review of prescriptions and medical orders among 5 second-grade general hospitals. Totally 1 500 prescriptions and 900 medical records were collected from 5 second-grade general hospitals before (April to June ,2020)and after (July to September ,2020)the implementation of the project. The changes of rational drug use indicators ,the results of prescriptions and medical order review were investigated before and after the implementation of the project. RESULTS After the implementation of the project ,except for one hospital ,the proportion of drugs in other hospitals decreased to varying degrees with the highest decline rate of 22.56% . Compared with before the implementation of the project ,reasonable rate of outpatient and emergency prescription review increased by 5.72% averagely and the reasonable rate of medical order review increased by 10.10%(P<0.05). The average utilization rate of antibiotics in outpatients decreased by 14.45%,the average utilization rate of antibiotics in inpatients decreased by 7.98%,and the average use intensity of antibiotics decreased by 25.19%. CONCLUSIONS Through the establishment of trans-regional review system ,medical institutions can be forced to pay more attention to prescription review ,effectively improve the prescription review of pharmacists in medical institutions, and promote the rational use of drugs in medical institutions in the region. However ,there are still some problems , such as incomplete system coverage ,insufficient work experience ,lagging of informatization ,uneven pharmacist level ,and insufficient assessment and supervision of administrative functional departments.

We aimed to evaluate the effectiveness and safety of single-course initial regimens in patients with low-risk gestational trophoblastic neoplasia (GTN). In this trial (NCT01823315), 276 patients were analyzed. Patients were allocated to three initiated regimens: single-course methotrexate (MTX), single-course MTX + dactinomycin (ACTD), and multi-course MTX (control arm). The primary endpoint was the complete remission (CR) rate by initial drug(s). The primary CR rate was 64.4% with multi-course MTX in the control arm. For the single-course MTX arm, the CR rate was 35.8% by one course; it increased to 59.3% after subsequent multi-course MTX, with non-inferiority to the control (difference -5.1%,95% confidence interval (CI) -19.4% to 9.2%, P = 0.014). After further treatment with multi-course ACTD, the CR rate (93.3%) was similar to that of the control (95.2%, P = 0.577). For the single-course MTX + ACTD arm, the CR rate was 46.7% by one course, which increased to 89.1% after subsequent multi-course, with non-inferiority (difference 24.7%, 95% CI 12.8%-36.6%, P < 0.001) to the control. It was similar to the CR rate by MTX and further ACTD in the control arm (89.1% vs. 95.2%, P =0.135). Four patients experienced recurrence, with no death, during the 2-year follow-up. We demonstrated that chemotherapy initiation with single-course MTX may be an alternative regimen for patients with low-risk GTN.
