Tumor necrosis factor-related apoptosis-inducing ligand(TRAIL) is a new anti-tumor biological agents which is very hot in recent years through its death receptor-induced apoptosis of tumor cells,and non-toxic to normal cells,and has synergy with the chemotherapy drug,but there is also resistance mechanisms.This article will review the biological characteristics of TRAIL and its receptors,TRAIL-induced apoptosis of tumor cells,as well as the mechanism of TRAIL in leukemia in the progress of treatment.

As a member of homeobox gene family,HOXC is expressed in many organs and can regulate gene expression,cell differentiation and morphogenesis.Abnormality of its function is closely related to the prognosis of leukemia,breast cancer,renal cell carcinoma,prostate cancer and so on.

Objective To investigate the effect of electroacupuncture on motilin (MOT) and somatostatin (SS) in rats with diabetes gastroparesis (DGP). Methods One hundred clean healthy SD rats with negative urine glucose were chosen. After they were fed for three days and into a stable state, 30 rats were randomly selected as a control group. The other 70 rats were used as an animal model of insulin-dependent diabetes made with streptozotocin. At 10 weeks after model making, rats as successful models were randomly allocated to model and treatment groups, 30 rats each. The model group received no treatment and the treatment group, electroacupuncture at points Zusanli, Zhongwan and Weishu. Serum and antral MOT and SS were measured in every group before and after treatment. Results There were statistically significant differences in body weight and gastrointestinal propulsion rate between the treatment or model group of rats and the control group (P<0.01), and between the treatment and model groups after treatment (P<0.01). There was a statistically significant difference in blood glucose value between the treatment or model group of rats and the control group after model making and at 10 weeks and the end of treatment (P<0.01). There was a statistically significant difference in blood glucose value between at the end and 10 weeks of treatment in the treatment group (P<0.01). There were statistically significant differences in serum and antral MOT and SS contents between the treatment or model group and the control group (P<0.01), and between the treatment and model groups after treatment (P<0.01). Conclusions Electrocupuncture can markedly increase serum SS and antral MOT and decrease serum MOT and antral SS to ameliorate high blood motilin and somatostatin in DGP rats.

Objective To discuss the influence of the smooth of bile duct examined by choledochoscope during the coInnlon bile duct exploration on the biliary tract theology.Methods Forty patients who were to undergo common bile duct exploration were divided into the control group and the test group with 20 eases in each group.The smooth of the distal common bile duct was examined by choledochoscope in the test group while by routine method in the control group.The T tube drainage volume for 24 h,the pressure,flow volume and resistance of common bile duct and amylase content of drainage were monitored in the two groups within 72 h.Results The T tube drainage volume of the second day increased.the pressure and the resistance of the common bile duct decreased,the flow volunle and amylase content of drainage reduced in the control group,which had statistical difference from those of the test group(P＜0.05).Condusion Avoidance of damaging examination of the distal common bile duct,monitoring of the pressure;flow volume and resistance of the common bile duct within 72 h after operation contributed to the confirmation of the time for clamping T tube early.

Objective To evaluate the clinical significance of the detection of the Human Papilloma Virus (HPV) DNA typing in therapy of cervical diseases. Methods 780 cases have been studied. These cases which showed HPV-DNA positive and were diagnosed by biopsy as cervical cancer or cervical intraepithelial neoplasia( CIN Ⅰ-Ⅲ) were treated by operation or physical therapy. And 6 months and 12 months after the treatment,TCT and HPV DNA test were carried out. Results The prevalence of HPV-DNA types among the 780 cases descended from HPV 16 to 52,58,18,33 and 31. Detection rates of HPV-52 and 58 were highest among the patients with CIN Ⅰ. In patients with CIN Ⅱ,CIN Ⅲ,carcinoma in situ and invasive carcinoma,the positive rate of HPV-16 was obviously higher than other genotypes,and the difference was significant (P＜0. 01 ). 520 cases were followed-up after treatment,we found that HPV-DNA subsided within 3 months to 1 year in 432 cases. 88 cases still showed the HPV-DNA positive, among this group 48 cases were cytology diagnosed as normal or inflammation,but 14 cases were ASC-US,22 cases were LSIL and 4 cases were HSIL. Cytology abnormal cases were mere often detected in patients with persistent HPV-positive than in patients with HPV-negative. Conclusion Referring patients with cervical diseases the common HPV genotypes are 16,52,58,18,33 and 31. Especially HPV-16 are closely related with cervical cancer and high-level cervical intraepithelial neoplasis. HPV-DNA turn negative in most patients in 12 months after treatment. Persistent infection of HPV-DNA is related with the pathological changes persist.

Objective To determine the urine parameters,body temperature and main organ coefficient of Fujian rabbits.Methods In this experiment,we selected twenty healthy Fujian rabbits with weight of about 2.5kg.Both male and female rabbits were ten.Before experiment,the rabbits drunk water freely.We collected fresh urine before breeding in the morning,and then determined the ten items urine parameters soon.Under the room temperature,we used electricity thermometer into the rabbits' rectum to determine the body temperature.Being fasting for 12h,the rabbits were anesthetized by 3% pentobarbital sodium,and then were put to death after bloodletting.The dissection took various internal organs immediately.The clean organs were weighed by electronic analytical balance.Results The results showed that the majority of the urine was yellow opacity,and the ten items urine parameters between male and female had no significant difference.The average body temperature of Fujian rabbits was 39.67℃ above other ones.There was no significant difference in main organ coefficient between male and female expect the lung and spleen.Conclusion In a word,it was objective to determine the body temperature,urine parameters,mainly organ coefficient of Fujian rabbits which were fed in conventional environment.It is valuable for the appliation of Fujian rabbits in life science sphere.

OBJECTIVE To investigate the risk factors of professional exposure among medical staff and explore the preventive strategies.METHODS The influence of factors including profession,exposure process,exposed materials,treatment process,and follow-up among 110 medical staff with professional exposure was analyzed.RESULTS The general incidence of professional exposure was 52.73%,35.45% and 6.36% for clinical doctors,nures,and workers,respectively.Among all exposure cases,we found the incidence was 62.73% for pricking wound,20% for various liquid contamination,4.55% for glass injury,2.73% for scalpel cutting,and 4.55% for other instrument related damage.The reasons leading to exposure were treatment and nursing care,surgery assistance,and instrument and materials manipulation,which accounted for 40%,31.82%,and 18.18% of total incidence,respectively.All of the exposure cases had been properly treated.None of the investigated cases had been found illed with blood derived transmitted disease caused by professional exposure.CONCLUSIONS It is critical to intensify the training of medical staff for the knowledge of professional exposure and to improve their personal protective awareness,so that the incidence of professional exposure could be reduced.

Objective To investigate the influence of very late antigen-4 (VLA-4) antibody and VLA-4 antibody combined with VP_(16) in vitro on childhood leukemic cells' apoptosis and explore the protection of bone marrow stromal cells (BMSC) upon leukemic cells and its related mechanisms. Methods Leukemic bone marrow stromal cells were isolated by human lymphocyte separation medium and in vitro culture of BMSC (adherent) and leukemia cells (suspended) BMSC+leukemic cells group were as control. Then VLA-4 antibody and/or VP_(16) were added respectively to VLA-4 antibody group, VP_(16) group and VLA-4 antibody combined with VP_(16) group to detect the apoptosis of leukemic cells in different groups through Annexin V-FITC double-labeled flow cytometry and the expression of Survivin, bcl-2 genes in each group of leukemic cells detected by RT-PCR. Results The results showed by flow cytometry that compared with the control groups, for 12 h or 24 h, the early and total apoptosis rates of leukemic cells of the three experimental groups were significantly increased(P <0.05); the early and total apoptosis rates of leukemic cells treated with VLA-4 antibody combined with VP_(16) group was markedly increased, compared with the control group (P <0.05); the comparison of the early and total apoptosis rates for the three experimental groups between 12 h and 24 h was significantly different (P<0.01). Moreover, RT-PCR results showed that the expression of Survivin and bcl-2 genes of leukemic cells in three experimental groups was reduced in varying degrees and the reduction of VLA-4 antibody combined with VP_(16) group was the most obvious. Conclusion BMSC plays a protective role on leukemic cells, and VLA-4 antibody can block the adhesion between BMSC and leukemic cells promoting leukemic cells apoptosis and enhance the sensibility of apoptosis of leukemic cells induced by chemotherapeutics.

To discuss the relationship between dietary glycemic load (GL) and blood glucose and lipid,201 patients with newly-diagnosed type 2 diabetes and 126 subjects with normal glucose tolerance were enrolled,who were all above 40 years old and permanently lived in communities of Guangzhou.GL,blood glucose and lipid were assessed based on 3-d dietary records.The results showed that the level of dietary glycemic load in diabetic patients was significantly higher than control group (169.61 ± 44.83 vs 157.50 ± 38.47,P＜0.05).Correlation analysis showed that dietary GL was positively correlated with body mass index and HbA1C,and negatively correlated with HDL-C in diabetic patients (all P＜0.05).Adjusted for age and sex by multiple regression,the result was the same.Therefore,dietary with high level of GL may be associated with the occurrence of type 2 diabetes,and is closely related to glucose control and blood lipid metabolism suggesting the necessity to control the level of dietary GL in the nutritional therapy for diabetic patients.

Objective To investigate the status of dietary fiber ( DF ) and dietary glycemic load ( GL ) in middle-aged and elderly population, and to analyze the correlation of DF and GL with abnormal glucose metabolism. Methods Subjects aged 40-79 years came from Guangzhou community. Dietary nutrients intakes were assessed by continuous 24 hours review for 3 days. Correlation of abnormal glucose metabolism with GL and DF and their interaction were analyzed as quintiles of the distribution. Results Of 1 832 subjects, there were 990 subjects (54. 0%) with normal glucose tolerance, 640 (34. 9%) with IGR, and 202 (11. 0%) newly-diagnosed diabetes mellitus(DM). AverageDFintakeofsubjectswas(11.5±4.5)g/dandaverageGLintakewas(181.0±7.5)/d. Compared with the highest quintile group of total DF intake, the risk of abnormal glucose metabolism in the lowest quintile group was increased[OR=1. 99, 95% CI (1. 48,2. 67)], with increased IGR risk[OR=1. 85, 95% CI (1.34,2.57)]andDMrisk[OR=2.36,95% CI(1.50,3.73)]. ComparedwiththelowestquintilegroupofGL intake, the risk of abnormal glucose metabolism in the highest quintile group was increased [ OR=1. 58, 95% CI (1. 18, 2. 13)], and with increased IGR risk[OR=1. 75, 95%CI(1. 26, 2. 42)] and DM risk[OR=1. 22, 95%CI(0. 77, 1. 94)]. The lowest quintile of DF and the highest quintile of GL was associated with the risk of increased abnormal glucose metabolism[OR=3. 43, 95%CI(1. 41, 8. 36)]. Conclusion Abnormal glucose metabolism was negatively related with DF and positively related with GL.
