Objective To study the epidemiological features of the endemic arsenism in Hohhot of Inner Mongolia in 2004-2006 in order to get scientific evidence for the control and prevention. Methods The historical data in Huhhot revealed that 51 arsenic villages in 3 counties(Tumotezuo,Tuoketuo and Helingeer) were investigated. When arsenic content in drinking water was 0.05-0.15 mg/L,the situation of endemic arsenism was investigated in the households having high arsenic contents of water. When arsenic content in drinking water was greater than 0.15 mg/L,the survey was conducted to investigate arsenic patients with census. Census rate was not lower than 90%. Patients of endemic amenism were diagnosed by The Standard of Diagnosis for Endemic Arsenism (WS/T 211-2001). Results A total 28 083 people were examined,3978 were determined to be patients with arsenism,including 1722 being suspicious, 1897 mild,329 secondary and 30 severe. The total incidence of arsenism was 14.17% (3978/28 083),while the incidence of suspicious,mild,secondary and severe disease was 6.13% (1722/28 083) ,6.75% (1897/28 083),1.17% (329/28 083) and 0.11% (30/28 083),respectively. Suspicious and mild patients were most frequently seen. The incidence of dyspigmentation,pigmentation,ketatoses,both dyspigmentation and pigmentation and all of skin disorders was 8.65% (2428/28 083),3.19% (895/28 083),6.48% (1821/28 083),2.13%(598/28 083) and 0.94%(265/28 083),respectively. The most seen skin disorders were dyspigmentation and ketatoses. The disease mostly occurred in those aged over 40 years,the incidence was 89.52% (3561/3978). The incidence of male [15.08%(2209/14 644)]was more than that of female[13.16%(1769/13 439)].Conclusions Current condition of arsenism in Hohhot is mild,arsenic disease surveillance should keep going. Prevention and control needs to be reinforced in the future.

3T3-LI preadipocytes were induced to differentiate and 3T3-L1 adipocyte or preadipocytes were incubated with oleate or palmitate overnight.RT-PCR was used to measure adiponectin receptor(AdipoR)1 and AdipoR2 mRNA levels.The results showed that the AdipoRl and AdipoR2 expressions were differentiation- dependent.Oleate only suppressed AdipoR mRNA expression in preadipocyte but not in adipocyte.However,high concentration of palmitate reduced AdipoR mRNA expression in both 3T3-LI preadipocyte and adipocyte.

Objective To explore the effect of different indexes on evaluating insulin resistance in obese children. Methods Oral glucose tolerance test (OGTT) was performed in obese children (n= 61) and age - matched normal volunteers( n= 23) Serum glucose and insulin levels were determined at 0,30,60,120,180 min after OGTT, insulin resistance was estimated by homeostasis model assessment of insulin resistance (HOMA-IR). Indexes such as the ratio of area under the curve of glucose(AUCG)/area under the curve of insulin(AUCI), the ratio of fasting blood sugar(FBG) and fasting blood insulin (FINS) were meanwhile calculated. Objective To screen the arsenic content situation of drinking water in lower reaches of Yellow River and survey the amount of threatened people drinking high arsenic water and the condition of endemic arsenism.Methods Four counties of Yuncheng,Jiaxiang,Dongchangfu and Boxing were selected to colleft the water samples by CroOSS-sectional survey method.The water arsenic content wag determined by semi-quantitative rapid kit.All water samples having arsenic were re-determined by atomic fluorescence spectrometry.And the nurober of threatened people who drinking high arsenic water were investigated.Results In 4765 water wells screened,303 water samples had contained arsenic,arsenic content of 35 samples Was≥0.030 mg/L,12 samples were exceeding the international standard (arsenic content≥0.050 ms/L),they distributed in 3 counties of Dongchangfu,Yuncheng and Jiaxiang.The residents drinking water wells of arsenic content≥0.030 mg/L were surveyed by epidemiological investigation.And in the 28 villages 13 032 residents and 11 Bu8picious patient8 wlere checked out.Conclusion The wells with excesive water arsenic content are existing in the lower reaches of Yellow River and people suspicious of endemic arsenism need to be further identified.

Objective To evaluate the effect of ice-made compound drug liquid on serious oral ulcer caused by chemotherapy.Methods Selecting sixty cases of Ⅲ～Ⅳ degree oral ulcer caused by chemotherapy in our department,and randomly dividing them into a control group and an experimental group.In the control patients were offered an ice-made compound drug liquid to cue the oral ulcer.The effect of each of the therapy was divided into three degrees, i.e., ineffective, effective and excellent, and the effects of the two different ways were compared.Results In the control group, the number of patients that got ineffective, effective and excellent results was 4, 18 and 8, separately; and in experimental group, the number of patients that got ineffective, effective and excellent result was 1, 3 and 26, separately.The difference on the effect between the two groups was significant (u = 4.476,P＜0.01 ).Conclusions The therapeutic effect of ice-made compound compound drug liquid is easy to be made and rapidly come into effect.It is worthy of recommending widely.

OBJECTIVETo compare the effect of acupoint injection desensitization with autoblood and routine combined therapy for treatment of chronic urticaria.

METHODSTwo hundred patients with chronic urticaria were randomly divided into an acupoint injection with autoblood (AJA) group and a medicine group, 100 cases in each group. The AJA group was treated by acupoint injection desensitization with autoblood and Dazhui (GV 14), Fengfu (GV 16), Feishu (BL 13), Neiguan (PC 6) and etc. were selected, 3-5 acupoints each time, once every three days, 30 days for a course. The therapeutic effect was assessed after one course. The medicine group was treated with external application of Dexamethasone Acetate cream, twice a day, and oral administration of Setastine Hydrochloride, twice a day, 1 mg each time and the treatment duration was the same as that in the AJA group.

RESULTSThe clinical cured rate was 66.0% (66/100) in the AJA group, which was superior to that of 0 (0/100) in the medicine group (P < 0.05).

CONCLUSIONThe acupoint injection desensitization with autoblood has obvious therapeutic effect on chronic urticaria with no apparent dependence and rebound problem.
