Objective To assess the expression of thioredoxin reductase(TR)and thioredoxin (Trx)mRNA,TR activity in human placenta in women with preeclampsia,and to discuss the relationship between Trx system and the pathogenesis of preeclampsia.Methods Twenty-sixwomen with preeclampsia(10 mild and 16 severe)and 28 healthy gravidas (control) were included in this study.Semi-quantitative reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction(RT-PCR)were employed to demonstrate the expression of TR and Trx in placentas.TR activity was measured spectrophotometrically.Results The expression of TR mRNA(mild:0.865±0.018;severe:0.800±0.025,P＜0.05)and Trx mRNA(mild:0.873±0.008;severe:0.818±0.025,P＜0.05)were lower in placenta of preeclampsia than in the control group(TR mRNA:0.893±0.023;Trx mRNA:0.918±0.023.P＜0.05),and those levels in the severe preeclampsia group were lower than in the mild ones.Both the mild and severe preeclampsia groups showed lower TR activity than the control(mild:17.732±1.653;severe:15.626±1.543 vs 19.770±2.432,P＜0.05),and that of the severe preeclampsia group was lower than that of the mild ones.Positive correlation was found between the TR activity and TR mRNA expression in both groups(r=0.612,P＜0.001).Conclusions Abnormal decreased expression of TR mRNA and Trx mRNA and TR activity in human placenta of preeclampsia might participate and play an important role in the pathogenesis of preeclampsia.

Objective To provide evidences and suggestions for educational innovation in military medical universities. Methods To carry out follow-up survey and evaluation in 85 graduates by using questionnaire survey and apply evaluation index system for quality follow-up among military clinical medicine masters. Results The average score evaluated by graduates is 78.39, the average score evaluated by hospitals is 86.00, The two average scores are normally distributed and have a positive correlativity (r=0.495). Conclusion The integrative quality of graduate students is good, but they should strengthen further in clinical capability, general quality and independent innovation.

Objective: To explore the function of spleen promoting blood production through observing change of blood routine and bone marrow of anemia rats treated by supernatant of rat spleen. Methods: Two groups of anemia rats were injected with spleen supernatant of normal(group1) and spleen deficiency rat(group2), and other two groups were translated glossary with spleen homogenate of normal rat and Guipi soup. OBJECTIVETo compare the efficacy difference among acupuncture smoothing-liver and regulating-spleen method, regulating Governor Vessel method and oral administration of western medicine for menopausal insomnia.

METHODSOne hundred and fifty-six cases of menopausal insomnia were randomized into a smoothing-liver and regulating-spleen group (group A), a regulating Governor Vessel group (group B) and a medication group (group C), 52 cases in each one. Acupuncture at Zhongwan (CV 12), Daheng (SP 15), Sanyinjiao (SP 6) and Taichong (LR 3), etc. was applied in the group A; acupuncture at Baihui (GV 20), Fengfu (GV 16), Shenting (GV 24) and Yintang (GV 29), etc. was used in the group B; oral administration of estazolam tablets (1 mg each-day) was adapted in the group C, all once a day for totally 30 days. The each item score and total score in Pittsburgh sleep quality index (PSQI) were evaluated before and after treatment in each group, also the efficacy in each group was assessed.

RESULTSAfter the treatment, the sleeping rate in the group A and B was significantly higher than that in the group C (both P < 0.05); the total effective rate in the Group A and B was also significantly higher than that in the group C [86.5% (45/52) and 82.7% (43/52) vs 63.5% (33/52), both P < 0.05; the total cured rate in the group A was significantly higher than those in the group B and C [48.1% (25/52) vs 23.1% (12/52) and 25.0% (13/52), both P < 0.05]. Each item score and total score of PSQI were all improved after treatment in the group A and B (P < 0.01, P < 0.05), while only sleeping time, sleeping efficiency and total score were improved in the group C (all P < 0.05). The sleeping quality, sleeping time, sleeping difficulty and daytime dysfunction in the group A were all lower than those in the group C (all P < 0.05). The sleeping quality, sleeping time and daytime dysfunction in the goup B were all lower than those in the group C (all P < 0.05). The total score in the group A was significantly lower than that in the group B and C (both P < 05).

CONCLUSIONAcupuncture has better effect for menopausal insomnia than estazolam. Between the two acupuncture methods, the acupuncture method of smoothing-liver and regulating-spleen has a better effect.

AIM To establish a new bioassay method for estimating the rat angiotensin Ⅰ converting engyme (ACE) activity in vivo by using ramipril (Ram), a ACE inhibitor. METHODS The change in mean arterial pressure induced by angioteuasin Ⅰ (AngⅠ) or bradykinin (BK) was measured before and 1, 24, 48 h after pretreatment with Ram (0 05,0 1 mg?kg -1 ,iv). The ACE activity was expressed by the pressor effect (%)of AngⅠ or the depressor effect (%) of BK. RESULTS The pressor effects of AngⅠ or the supernatant fraction of heart tissue homogenate containing AngⅠ were siginificantly reduced 1 h and 24 h after pretreatment with Ram, but not 48 h after pretreatment with Ram. In comparison of the depressor response of BK vs pressor response of AngⅠ 1 h after pretreatment with Ram,it was shown that the depressor effect of BK is more sensitive than the pressor effect of AngⅠ( P

AIM: To investigate the clinical value of fundus fluorescein angiography ( FFA ) and optical coherent tomography ( OCT) in the diagnosis of central retinal vein occlusion.
●METHODS:A total of 47 cases (47 eyes) central retinal vein occlusion were retrospectively analyzed from Jun. 2012 to Dec. 2015 in our hospital ophthalmology center. According to the final diagnosis, the results were divided into 21 cases of central retinal artery occlusion ( group CRAO, 21 eyes) and central retinal vein occlusion ( group CRVO, 26 eyes ) . All patients received FFA and OCT examination within 2wk of onset, and the image data of the two kinds of examination results were analyzed.
● RESULTS: Group of patients with CRAO average macular foveola thickness, angle measuring, filling time determination results were significantly lower than that of the patients with CRVO group average and the differences were significant (P<0. 05).
●CONCLUSION:FFA and OCT images of central retinal artery and vein occlusion have their own characteristics, and the combination of these two images can be used to identify and diagnose the central retinal artery and vein occlusion.

Objective To describe the sonographic appearance of mesenchymal hamartoma of the liver(MHL)and to analyze the diagnostic value of ultrasound.Methods Eleven surgically and pathologically confirmed cases of MHL from January 2005 to May 2011 in the Beijing Children′s Hospital were retrospectively reviewed.Results Ultrasound examinations showed 9 cystic hamartomas,including 7 multiseptate cystic and 2 monocystic lesions.Of the 7 multiseptate cystic hamartomas,4 had a honeycomb appearance and 3 had irregularly-distributed multiple cysts with varied septations.Of the 2 monocystic hamartomas,1 had a large cystic portion while the other was mainly solid with approximately 4% cystic portion of the tumor.Two cases in this group were solid,presenting with a well-defined homogenous mass.Conclusions Ultrasonography is an effective imaging modality for the diagnosis for MHL.A mixed or a mainly-cystic liver mass found in a child less than 2 years old should be suspicious for MHL.

OBJECTIVE To assess the pathogen features and risk factors among diabetic patients complicated by lower respiratory tract nosocomial infection.METHODS A retrospective study was carried out to survey the clinical data of diabetic patients complicated by lower respiratory tract infection during from 2002 to 2005.RESULTS The main responsible pathogens were Gram-negative bacteria,their rate was 54.5%.While the rate of Gram-positive bacteria was 35.7 %.The rate of fungi was 9.8%.The risk factors of nosocomial infection included:old age,high level of blood sugar,consciousless status,longtime usage of antibiotics,oxygen inhalation and other aggressive manipulations.CONCLUSIONS In diabetic patients with lower respiratory tract infection,the incidence and mortality were all onrelatively high level.They must be given to pay attention.The chief pathogens were Gram-negative bacteria or fungi.So we should strengthen supervision and avoid risk factors,which are the keys in saving critical diabetic patients.

To investigate the angiotensin I-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitory activity of beta-chain hemoglobin fragments, 17 fragments were synthesized by microwave-assisted solid-phase synthesis method. Wang resin or Trt(2-Cl) resin, Fmoc and HBTU-HOBt were used as solid carrier, N-terminal amino acid protecting groups and coupling reagents, respectively. The ACE inhibitory, alpha-glucosidase inhibitory, antibacterial and antitumor activities of the synthesized fragments were assayed. In vitro, Val-Val-Tyr-Pro-Trp-Thr showed high ACE inhibitory activity (IC50 = 7.42 micromol x L(-1)). The results indicate that there are two active sites in Val-Val-Tyr-Pro-Trp-Thr-Gln-Arg-Phe, one consists of Val-Val-, and the other -Gln-Arg-Phe. Peptides showed high ACE inhibitory activity when the N-terminal was hydrophobic amino acid such as Val and C-terminal tripeptide contained Phe, Trp or Arg. Some of the fragments showed low a-glucosidase inhibitory activity. No antibacterial activity or antitumor activity was detected in vitro. The results indicate that these peptides have a potential antihypertensive effect and possible application in the treatment of hypertension.
