0.25mg/ml of Achyranthes bidentata Saponins( ABS ) in De Jalon's solution usually caused an obvious excitant action in both virgin and pregnant uterine preparations. The uterine excitation was blocked effectively by prior treatment of the preparations with 20?g/ml of indomethacin for 1 h.In the isolated uterine preparations taken from the rats treated with indomethacin, 15 mg/rat orally twice a day for 2 and a half days, the excitant action of ABS was obviously reduced.Treatment of the uterine segments with 0.5?g/ml of chlorpromazine for half an hour also blocked the excitant response. However, treatment of the uterine preparations with 10?g/ml of atropine for 10 min had no abvious effect on the excitant response. The probable mecha-nism of action of ABS was discussed.

Objective To investigate the relationship of pancreatic exocrine function with the pancreatic cancer staging and the size of tumor. Methods N-benzoyl-tryrosyl para-aminobenzoic acid (NBT- PABA) test was used to measure the pancreatic exocrine function of 39 pancreatic cancer patients, 46 chronic pancreatitis patients and 20 normal subjects. In pancreatic cancer group, the relationship of pancreatic exocrine function with the size of tumor (TS) and JPS classification (T factor) was analysed. Results The rate of NBT-PABA excretion in normal subjects, chronic pancreatitis patients were (78.9±15.9)%, (58.6± 19.3)%, respectively; in mild, moderate, severe chronic pancreatitis patients, the values of NBT-PABA were (75.5±23.6)%, (57.9±21.5)%, (45.5±16.7)% ; respectively. The rate of NBT-PABA excretion in pancreatic cancer patients was (47.6±18.3)%, and the rate of NBT-PABA excretion in patients with T3+T4 stage was (42.2±21.70%, and was obviously less than (64.8±11.2)% of T1+T2 stage (P<0.05). Tthe rate of NBT-PABA excretion in patients with TS3+TS4 was (34.8±17.2)%, and was significantly lower than (55.6±23.5)% of TS1+TS2(P<0.05). The rate of NBT-PABA excretion in patients with pancreatic head cancer was (42.5±16.4)%, which was significantly lower than (71.8±9.6)% of the pancreatic body and tail (P<0.05). In the 33 patients with pancreatic head cancer, the rate of NBT-PABA excretion in patients with main pancreatic duct stricture was (54.2±14.1) %, which was significantly higher than (37.6± 14.1)% of patients with main pancreatic duct interruption (P<0.05). There was no significant difference in pancreatic exocrine function between pancreatic cancer and moderate or severe chronic pancreatitis. Conclusions The pancreatic exocrine function was related to the pancreatic cancer staging and the size of tumor to some degree, but it was affected by mass location, and it was also affected by degrees of the pancreatic duct obstruction. The pancreatic exocrine function can not be used to differentiate pancreatic cancer from moderate or severe chronic pancreatitis.

Damage of tissues and organs by wound, tumor resection, and congenital malformation is always the tough problems to clinician. At present, the damaged tissues and organs are usually replaced by tissue and organ transplantation or by bionic implantation in clinic.Although these methods have some advantages respectively, they have some serious drawbacks at the same times.Regenerative medicine, which depends on the findings of regenerative biology research, applies the cellular therapeutics based on cell transplantation and the principle of tissue engineering with biomaterial as scaffolds to the repair or replacement of the damaged tissues or organs. The goal of the regenerative medicine is to reconstruct the structure and restore the function of damaged tissues or organs by promoting the regenerative potential of adult stem ceils(ASC)in vivo. This paper focuses on the recent research progress in the field of regenerative biology and medicine.

Objective To investigate the expression of Cofilin in alveolar and peripheral blood mononuclear cells in COPD patients and the correlation with the function of phagocytic aspergillus. Methods 20 COPD pa-tients were selected from July 2015 to May 2016 in the outpatient department of respiratory medicine of Zhujiang Hospital of Southern Medical University ,then divided into the experimental group 1(group Aand B in 2011 version of GOLD),group 2(test group C and group D in 2011 version of GOLD),and the healthy control group in 10 people. The AM and MDM in the peripheral bloodwere extracted respectively in the 3 groups by bronchoalveolar lavage and,and the ability of AM and MDM in each group were detected. The expression of Cofilin protein was measured by real-time fluorescence quantitative(qRT-PCR) and Western blotting ,and the differenceswere compared among the three groups. Results The colony numbers of MDM/AM in the 3 groups were 17 ± 3,16 ± 2, 42 ± 3(F = 73.446 ,P < 0.001),and the colony numbers of MDM/AM in the two test groupshad significantly different from the healthy group ,while no significant difference was found in the two test groups. The results of fluorescence quantitative reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction and Western blot analysis showed that the expression of Cofilin in the two test groups was significantly higher than that in the healthy group. Conclusion The decreased function of phagocytic aspergillus in the alveolar and peripheral blood mononuclear cells in COPD patients may relates to the increase of cofilin.

Objective To study the effect of mild hypothermia combined with edaravone on the expressions of tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α)and interleukin-6(IL-6)in cerebrospinal fluid(CSF)of patients with severe traumatic brain injury(sTBI)and on their prognoses. Methods A prospective randomizd controled trial was conducted. Seventy-seven patients in the Center for Neurology and Neurosurgery of Affiliated Hospital of Logistics University of Chinese People's Armed Police Forces were randomly assigned into control group(38 cases)and treatment group(39 cases)according to random number table. All the patients were treated with routine treatments such as dehydration of intracranial pressure(ICP),neural nutrition,anti-infection,mechanical ventilation and maintenance of water and electrolyte balance in control group, while in treatment group, the patients received mild hypothermia combined with edaravone on the basis of routine treatment within 24 hours after injury. The contents of TNF-αand IL-6 in CSF were measured by radio-immunoassay(RIA)at different time points in both groups. In the meantime, the ICP was also measured. The prognosis was evaluated after 6 months of injury according to Glasgow outcome scale(GOS). Results Compared to control group,in the treatment group, the expression levels of TNF-αand IL-6 in CSF had no significant difference(both P>0.05)on the 1st day after injury, but they were significantly increased on the 3rd day after injury, began to decline on the 7th day,and reached to the valley value on the 14th day after injury, the degree of descent in treatment group being more significant than that in control group〔TNF-α(μg/L):2.43±0.39 vs. 3.12±0.47,IL-6(ng/L):83.53±11.48 vs. 101.69±13.64,both P<0.01〕. Before the treatment, the level of ICP in treatment group had no significant difference from that of control group(P>0.05),but it was gradually increased on the 1st day after injury in both groups,it reached the peak value on the 3rd day after injury, and began to decline on the 7th day after injury, the degree of descent being more significant in treatment group〔mmHg(1 mmHg=0.133 kPa):14.88±3.73 vs. 21.76±4.78,P<0.01〕. The favorable prognosis rate was significantly higher〔35.9%(14/39)vs. 21.1%(8/38),P<0.05〕,and the mortality was obviously lower in treatment group than those of control group〔28.2%(11)vs. 42.1%(16),P<0.05〕. Conclusion In patients with sTBI,mild hypothermia combined with edaravone can protect brain tissue through alleviating high ICP and decreasing the expression levels of TNF-αand IL-6 in CSF, resulting in promoting the recovery of nerve functions and improving prognosis.
