Aim To determine the roles of peripheral ? 1 and ? 2 -adrenoceptors (? 1-AR,? 2-AR) in inhibition of carotid sinus barore ceptor reflex(CSR) induced by intracerebroventricular injection (icv) of histami ne (HA).Methods The left and right carotid sinus regions were i solated from the systemic circulation in 22 male Sprague-Dawley rats anesthetiz ed with pentobarbital sodium. The intracarotid sinus pressure (ISP) was altered in a stepwise ma nner in vivo.ISP-mean arterial pressure (MAP) relationship curve and its ch aracteristic parameters were constructed by fitting to the logistic function wit h five parameters. The changes in CSR performance induced by icv HA and the effec ts of pretreatment with ? 1-AR or ? 2-AR selective antagonist into the per ipheral vein on the responses of CSR to HA were examined. Results icv microinjection of HA (60 ?mol?L -1 in 5 ?l) significantly shifted the ISP-MAP relationship curve upwards (P0.05).Conclusion The intracerebroventricular administration of HA results in a rapid resetting of CSR and a decrease in reflex sensitivity, and the functions of both the peripheral ? 1-AR and ? 2-AR may attenuate CSR resetting induced by icv microinjection of HA. Furthermore, the peripheral ? 1-AR might play an important role in mediating the responses of CSR to central HA.

Objective To investigate the cell cycle and mechanisms of HCC Bel-7404 cell line by treatment of extract of centipede ( ECP). Method Bel-7404 cell line was cultured in vitro. ECP was applied to the interference of the growth of Bel-7404 with different drug concentration. Cell cycles and apoptosis ratios of ECP group were detected by flow cytometry (FCM). To investigate the expression of apop-tosis related genes XIAP and Bax, we also detect HCC Bel-7404 cell line after 48 hours treated with ECP by immunohistochemical method. Result The results of FCM displayed that ECP in treatment group mainly retard cell cycle phase in G0/G1 after 48 hours. The ratios of G0/ G1 .proliferation index (PI) and apoptosis ratios were significantly different between treatment group and control group when the concentrations were different. It was also significantly different between treatment group and control group when the same concentration of ECP was used. It showed that XIAP gene expression decreased gradually while Bax gene expression increased with the increase of ECP concentration, and these were statistical significance in contrast to control group ( P <0.05). Conclusion ECP mainly retarded cell cycle phase of Bel-7404 in G0/G1, suppressed the proliferation, and could induce it to apoptosis. The inhibitory effect was time - concentration dependent. The mechanisms were due to promote Bax gene and inhibit XIAP gene expression in HCC Bel-7404 cell line.

Purpose To observe the impact of sleep deprivation (SD) for 24 hours on human brain regional homogeneity (ReHo) by using functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI),and briefly discuss the intervening effect of transcranial direct current stimulation (tDCS) on ReHo after SD.Material and Methods Sixteen healthy individuals were enrolled, and self-controlled study were adopted.Resting-state fMRI scans were performed in wakefulness, after SD,and after tDCS (true or placebo stimuli). The ReHo analysis approach was employed to calculate the ReHo values of whole brain in different states. The differences between before and after SD,and between true and false tDCS after SD,were analyzed. Results Compared with wakefulness,SD mainly enhanced ReHo in brain regions of left precentral gyrus, right precentral gyrus, bilateral temporal lobe and thalamus, but decreased ReHo in brain regions of right precuneus, left superior occipital gyrus, limbic lobe and bilateral angular gyrus, superior frontal gyrus, middle frontal gyrus.Compared with placebo stimuli, the true tDCS enhanced ReHo in brain regions of bilateral precuneus, angular gyrus and right forehead, superior middle gyrus, but decreased ReHo in brain regions of the medial side of left frontal lobe, right precentral gyrus, parahippocampal gyrus, substantia nigra and bilateral temporal lobe, pons and so on.Conclusion SD can cause ReHo change in a large number of brain regions. The tDCS on the prefrontal cortex improves the brain regions with ReHo reduction caused by SD.The improved brain regions mainly include bilateral precuneus/posterior cingulate cortex. Therefore,tDCS on the prefrontal cortex can improve brain dysfunction caused by SD.
