1.Effect Evaluation of Preservatives Commonly Used in Actual Cosmetics

Objective To understand the antiseptic effect of preservatives commonly used in the actual cosmetics. Methods The single culture method was used to evaluate the effects of different preservatives on the different microbial. Results In the actual cosmetics, parabens could inhibit fungi well but bacteria, the effect of imidazolinyl urea was contrary, inhibited bacteria well but fungi. 2-bromo- 2-nitropropane-1, 3-diol got good effect. Methylchloro did not show an effect in the allowable range. Conclusion The cosmetics components are considered as the important influencing factors for the effects of preservatives used in the cosmetics.
2.Resistibility of Microbes Contaminated in Cosmetics to Preservatives in Common Use in Cosmetics

Objective To research the resistibility of microbes contaminated in cosmetics to preservatives in common use in cosmetics.Methods The minimum inhibitory concentration(MIC) method was used according to Disinfection Technical Guideline.Results The resuls showed that some of the isolated microbes had higher resistance for one or more of the commonly used preservatives.The MIC of enterobacter gergoviae for methyl paraben was 10 mg/ml,the MIC of paecilomyces for propyl paraben was 10 mg/ml,it was 2.5 times greater than the limited dose.The MIC of Pantoea,P.luteola and trichoderma for imidazolidinyl urea were higher than other standard microbe strains.Conclusion The microbes contaminated in cosmetics can develop tolerance to the preservatives in common use in cosmetics,maybe that is one of the causes for cosmetics contamination.

Changes of ABR and LEDVEP in 60 patients with mild head injury and of ABR LEDVEP BEAM in 40 out of 60 patienites were studied. The results were as folls:we:①The Chief abnormality of ABR. was the prolongation of Ⅰ- Ⅲ interpeak latency ②The appaent abnomality of the LEDVEP was the prolongation of N70 latency and the drop of N70-P100 amplitude ③The characteristic change of BEAM was the incre ment of average ?1 power. The increment of ?/?2 power ratio suggested the presence of supertentorial lesions.According to the follow up study of clectrophysiological findings, a scale of brain dysfunction was created,It provides an objective criterion for clinical diagnosis and prognostic determination. Damage of tissues and organs by wound,tumor resection,and congenital malformation is always the tough problems to clinician.At present,the damaged tissues and organs are usually replaced by tissue and organ transplantation or by bionic implantation in clinic.Although these methods have some advantages respectively,they have some serious drawbacks at the same times.Regenerative medicine,which depends on the findings of regenerative biology research,applies the cellular therapeutics based on cell transplantation and the principle of tissue engineering with biomaterial as scaffolds to the repair or replacement of the damaged tissues or organs.The goal of the regenerative medicine is to reconstruct the structure and restore the function of damaged tissues or organs by promoting the regenerative potential of adult stem ceils(ASC)in vivo.This paper focuses on the recent research progress in the field of regenerative biology and medicine.
5.Value of low doses of gemcitabine chemotherapy combined with high-low oxygen radiotherapy synchronously for therapy of patients with locally advanced pancreatic cancer

Objective To evaluate the efficacy and adverse effects of low doses gemcitabine chemotherapy combined with synchronous high-low oxygen radiotherapy in patients with locally advanced pancreatic cancer.Methods Fifty-six patients with locally advanced pancreatic cancer were randomly divided into two groups by envelop method:radio-chemotherapy group or chemotherapy group.Patients in radio-chmotherapy group were treated with low doses of gemcitabine chemotherapy ( 600 mg/m2 ) combined with high-low oxygen radiotherapy synchronously,paients in chmotherapy group were treated with full doses of gemcitabine chemotherapy ( 1000 mg/m2).The short-term effect,distant metastasis rate,clinical benefit rate,survival rate and adverse events of two groups were observed.Results There was one patient achievedcomplete relief and 15 patients achieved partial relief in radio-chemotherapy group with an overall effective rate of 66.7% (16/24) ; there were 9 patients achieved partial relief in chemotherapy group with an overall effective rate of 36.0% (9/25),the difference between the two groups was statistically significant (X2 =4.6082,P =0.0318 ).The clinical benefit rates were 83.3 % ( 20/24 ) and 60% ( 15/25 ),respectively,the difference between the two groups was not statistically significant ( P =0.070).The distant metastasis rates were 66.7%(16/24) and 72% (18/25),respectively,the difference between the two groups was not statistically significant (P =0.6855).The 12,24 months survival rates were 62.5% vs 32%,37.5% vs 12%,the difference between the two groups was statistically significant ( P =0.0325,0.0380).The incidence of serious adverse events was 45.8% and 4 0 % without statistical difference.Conclusions Low doses of gemcitabine chemotherapy combined with high-low oxygen radiotherapy synchronously is better than full doses of gemcitabine chemotherapy with regard to total effective rates and 12,24 months survival rates,with no obvious increase in the incidence of serious adverse events.
6.Association between SERPINH1 gene expression level in gastric cancer tissue with pathology and prognosis

Objective To investigate the association between SERPINH1 gene expression in gastric cancer tissue with the pathology and prognosis and its action mechanism in gastric cancer.Methods The gastric cancer data in the TCGA and GEO public databases were collected,and the retrospective analysis and survival analysis were conducted on the SERPINH1 expression data of the tumor tissue samples and related clinical information;the gene set enrichment analysis(GSEA) was used to analyze the SERPINH1 expression related functional gene sets and to investigate the SERPINH1 action mechanism.Results In 421 cases of gastric cancer sample,the SERPINH1 expression level had no significant differences with the tumor grade,N stage and metastasis.However,its high expression was significantly correlated with the tumor invasion depth(T stage)(P=0.049).The higher the expression level,the preater the invasion depth.In the survival analysis,the patients with high SERPINH1 expression showed a poorer prognosis than those with low SERPINH1 expression[P<0.001,HR(95%CI):1.97 (1.61-2.41)].The gene set enrichment analaysis found that the related gene sets such as tumor signal pathway and tumor microenvironment were enriched in the SERPINH1 high expression samples.The gene expression chip data in 69 cases of gastric cancer and paracancerous tissue also suggested that SERPINH1 was highly expressed in gastric cancer (P<0.000 1) with a greater diagnostic value (AUC=0.988 1).Conclusion High expression of SERPINH1 is correlated with the occurrence and development of gastric cancer,and has a greater clinical significance.
7.Analysis on safety of combination therapy with amlodipine plus terazosin in middle aged and old male patients with essential hypertension

Objective To evaluate the safety of combination therapy with amlodipine and terazosin in middle aged and old male patients with essential hypertension.Methods Randomized,prospective,parallel study was carried out in middle aged and old male patients with essential hypertension in Anqing between August 2005 and February 2006.In this article,508 patients were chosen to appraise safety of the combination therapy.Results ①After 4 weeks,the heart rate of combination group changed from 68.9?7.7 to 67.7?6.9.There was no significant difference before and after treatment.②The combination group didn't affect the levels of blood glucose,lipid,electrolyte and the function of kidney and liver.③As regards tolerability,adverse experiences were observed in 4.1%,12.3%,and 13.2% of patients,respectively.Orthostatic hypertension did not happen in three groups during treatment.Conclusions The combination of amlodipine and Terazosin have no influence on the levels of blood glucose,lipid and the function of kidney and liver.Moreover,the combination was tolerated as well as its components.Through the adjustment of drug dosage,orthostatic hypotension did not happen in three groups during treatment.
8.A preliminary study on expression of caspase-3 in experimental brain contusion in rats

Objective To investigate the expression of caspase-3 in different post-traumatic intervals and severity of traumatic brain injury (TBI). Method Brain tissue samples of slight (n =24), moderate (n = 24) brain injury and control (n = 10) groups of rat were examined by immunohistochemical staining. Results Up-regulation of caspase-3 expression was found in tissues from traumatic brain injury as compared with controls in 1h after TBI, and lasted for 2 weeks. In tissues taken Ih, 12h, 24h, 72h, lweek and 2weeks after TBI there were different amount of positive celis in brain injuries of different severity. Con-clusion The expression of caspase-3 is different in brain injuries of different severity . These findings are valuable in appraising the severity of injuries.
9.Effects of Total Saponins of Panax Ginseng Combined with Icariin on Learning, Memory and Apoptosis of Hippocampal Neural Cells in Vascular Dementia Rats

Objective:To explore the effects of total saponins of panax ginseng ( TSPG) combined with icariin ( ICA) on learning and memory capability, oxygen free radical and apoptosis of hippocampal CA1 pyramidal cells in vascular dementia ( VD) rats. Meth-ods:The VD rats were obtained by occlusion of bilateral common carotid artery and reperfusion repeatedly combined with intraperitoneal injection of sodium nitroprusside. Spacial learning and memory ability was evaluated by 8-arm radial electric maze test on the 21st day af-ter the drug treatment, the activity of SOD and the level of MDA in the brain were determined, and the adjacent sections were used to de-tect fragmented DNA in apoptotic cells( TUNEL) . Results:The learning and memory ability of the model rats judged by the 8-arm radial electric maze test was significantly decreased compared with that in the sham-operated group (P <0.05). The combination treatment could significantly protect and improve all the evaluated indices of the model rats after the 3-week treatment (P<0. 05) with increased SOD (P<0. 05), and decreased MDA (P<0. 01) and TUNEL positive cells (P<0. 05). Conclusion:The combination drug treatment can significantly protect and improve the spacial learning and memory ability of VD rats, which is related with such effects as improving oxygen free radical metabolism and nerve cell injure in hippocampal CA1 region.
10.Application of Big-Five Personality Questionnaire Survey for Medical Students:Pilot Investigation

Background:Personality characters will influence the future career planning and development of medical students.Therefore,it will be important in the field of medical education to survey their personalities.Study design:The personality questionnaire was developed according to the Big-Five characters.The content validity and consistent reliability were assessed.A total of 124 undergraduate medical students participated in this 44-item self-evaluation about their personalities.Results:The inter-item consistency reliabilities of the 44-items of Big-Five personality questionnaire were analyzed and discordant items were deleted(Crobach's Alpha from 0.484~0.782 before selection to 0.67~0.82 after selection).The content validity of this five dimensions ranged from 0.8 to 0.9(P
