Journal of Medical Research 2006;0(03):-
Objective To study the characteristics of working memory impairment in patients with lacunar cerebral infarctions(LCI).Methods 42 patients proved by clinics were chosen, and divided into two groups:multiple and single LCI groups, versus left, right and double side infarction groups.Their working memory status were evaluated and compared with Digit Ordering Test,Corsi block task,House Visual Span Test and Stroop Digit Counting Test. All scores were analyzed statistically.Results(1)All scores of the four types of Tests in multiple LCI group were significantly lower than those in single group(P0.05).Conclusions Multiple LCI is closely related to working memory impairment.Left brain infarction may induce verbal working memory impairment, and right infarction may induce spatial working memory impairment, but object working memory impairment may related to double side of brain infarction. It suggested that in the physiological structure, different components of working memory regions had dissymmetrical effect in two sides of brain.

Objective To investigate the effect of ropivacaine preconditioning on the toxicity of ropivacaine to ND7/23 cells. Methods ND7/23 cells were cultured in DMEM culture medium at 37℃ in 5% CO2 incubator for 24 h at a concentration of 1 × 106/ml. The cells were randomly divided into 3 groups ( n = 3 each) ;control group (group C), ropivacaine group (group R) and ropivacaine preconditioning group (group RP). In group R, the cells were exposed to 1% ropivacaine 100 μl and incubated for 1 h. In group RP, the cells were exposed to 0.02% ropivacaine 100 μl for 15 min, after ropivacaine was washed out, 1% ropivacaine 100 μl was then added and the cells were incubated for 1 h. The cell viability was measured using CCK-8 assay and apoptosis using Annexin-V/PI staining. Results Compared with group C, the cell viability was significantly decreased, while the early apoptotic rate and late apoptotic rate were significantly increased in groups R and RP ( P < 0.05). Compared with group R, the cell viability was significantly increased, while the early apoptotic rate and late apoptotic rate were significantly decreased in group RP (P < 0.05) .Conclusion Ropivacaine preconditioning can protect ND7/23 cells from bupivacaine-induced cytotoxicity through inhibiting apoptosis.

Objective To observe the morphological characteristics of oval cells in human chronic liver diseases, and determine whether there is a relationship between the number of oval cells and liver fibrotic stage. Methods Oval cells were detected in paraffin bedded liver sections of 3 normal subjects (as controls) and 29 chronic liver diseases, using histoimmunochemistry. Cells were counted if they fulfiled the morphological criteria for oval cells and showed cytoplasmic staining. Results Oval cells were not observed in normal livers. In chronic liver diseases, oval cells were located predominantly in the periportal region and fibrosis septa, characterized by an ovoid nucleus, small size, and scant cytoplasmic. The number of oval cells increased significantly ( F=22.60, P

Objective To explore the constraint effect of self - made binding sheets to restless patients. Methods Using soft canvas and thick qualitative cotton for sheets making. 100 cases of Neurusurgery JCAHO into patients of level 2~3 were, randomly divided into 52 cases of obeservation group and 48 cases of control group, then use self - made binding sheets and traditional binding sheets respectively for the purpose of protective constraint. Re-sults The interference treatment and skin damage of the observation group, and the psychological pressure of nursing staff were significantly lower than those in control group (P < 0.01). Conclusions With self - made binding sheets the patients have integrity constraints, and the result is better than the traditional one.

Objective To study the clinical diagnosis and treatment of juxtapapillary duodenal diverticula with biliary deseases. Methods Eighteen duodenal diverticulum treated in our department in recent 5 years were retrospectivly analyzed, especially investigated the postcholecystectomy cases whose symptoms were continuing existence after operatoins. Articles about the surgical treatment were reviewed. Results The total of 18 duodenal diverticulum with 17 cases of juxtapapillary duodenal diverticulum were included in this study. The ages of 12 cases were over 50 years old. Sixteen cases(88.89%) presented biliary stones. Seven cases once had performed cholecystectomy or cholecystectomy plus choledochotomy, but symptoms persisted after operations. The duodenal diverticulum were found by endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) and hypotonic duodenography. Sixteen patients underwent surgical treatment with good effect. Conclusion The juxtapapillary duodenal diveticula has the close relationship with biliary stones. ERCP and hypotonic duodenogrphy are the most reliable methods to get the correct diagnosis. In case of recurrent common bile duct stones after operations or persisting billiary symptoms after cholecystectomy, the coexistence of juxtapapillary duodenal diverticulum should be ruled out. The surgical treatment is only considered for the duodenal diverticulum with complication.

Journal of Applied Clinical Pediatrics 2006;0(17):-
Objective To explore the relationship between the expression of nestin protein and the expression of vascular endothelia growth factor(VEGF)in hypoxia-ischemia brain damage(HIBD)of neonatal SD rats. Methods Fifty-six 7-day postnatal SD rats were randomly divided into 2 groups, sham operation(n=28)and hypoxic ischemic(HI)group(n=28).Animals were killed in 0,3,12,24 h,3,7,14 d after HIBD rat models established. The brain tissue was obtained to make paraffin section.Expressions of nestin and VEGF protein were examined with immunohistochemical staining and image quantitative analysis. Results The number of VEGF positive cell in the hippocampus and cortex increased reactively after HI and reached peak at the 12th hour and persistent to the 24th hour, which returned the normal level on d3,however,the number of nestin positive cell reached peak on d7 and returned the normal level on d14 after HI.Conclusions VEGF and nestin may contribute to neurolproctetive effects against HIBD.Studying the way to facilitate the coexpression of the nestin and VEGF may have important rolls to enhance the repairment and regeneration.

Objective To investigate the feasibility and techniques of laparoscopic biliary re-operations. Methods Laparoscopic surgery was performed in 13 patients with bile duct stones who already had undergone biliary tract operations. Results Laparoscopic choledochotomy was successfully completed in 12 cases, while a conversion to open surgery was required in 1 case. The success rate of laparoscopic surgery was 92.3% (12/13). The operation time was (101~300) min, with a mean of 155 min. No intra- or post- operative complications occurred. Conclusions Laparoscopic biliary re-operations are feasible and experiences are needed to ensure the success of surgery.

AIM: To establish the quality standard for Gujing Tablets (Olibanum, Rhizoma Cyperi, Radix Aucklandia, etc.). METHODS: Olibanuln, Rhizoma Cyperi, Radix Aucklandia were identified by TLC, and costuslactone content in Radix Aucklandia was determined by HPLC. RESULTS: The TLC identification was highly specific and spots were clear. Costuslactone in Radix Aucklandia showed a good linear relationship. The average recovery was 99.1% (RSD=1.2% and n=5). CONCLUSION: The methods are simple, reliable and have a good reproducibility and can be used for the quality control of Gujing Tablets.
